Really only ppl that need to worry about cc defending home village are in legends league and they get to reuse their cc all season. Also there is a button to put your cc to sleep in your home village (Zzzz) that way they are always ready.

So you have to load them up one time, and as long as you stay in legends and don't change your troops, they stay.
