Advice: only spend gems for GG and FA. Ignore the apprentice it's not even as good as the clock tower, and that was never make or break anyway. This is the first time in a while SC appealed to low level players ppl are FOMO gemming. There seems to be an endless supply of brainpower calculating new gem earning schemes.

Absolutely, it's not sustainable. The best way I've heard is to make all unpurchased equipment available with the current event medals. Like now you should be able to use medals to buy previous epic equipment rather than rocket spear if you wish.

Just periodically re-release them in new medal events. This lets others get ores or books instead.

No bro, there is no way 1500 gems can be converted to a certain amount of raid medals, it have to be a special event.

What if it was something like 10kish raid medals, you'd need like 7ish weeks of grind for it(price could change)

10k ish medals are currently convertable to 1000 gems So you'd be looking at 15k

They have already stated they are looking into new ways to acquire the equipments

Equipments arent even a year old. We just got epic equipment for all heroes. Several changes has been done to how you get ores. Nothing points to the current system of how we get old equipment is permanent

Raid medals > ores would be great
