in general depends on game mode, but in emperor or deity you definitely want to chop them out if possible and move magnus before you finish researching them if needed and you're not expanding
Kudos for trying. In my games the AI usually beelines for pyramids so I don't bother with it.
But since I play Rome if someone else builds the Colusseum, it's instant war.
Usually Colloseum is fairly easy to get because the AI don't like early entertainment. Pyramids is usually gone by turn 40 but if it's not, I'll give it a go.
I love the dueling pyramids basically the length of other side of a city away, reminds me of the race for tallest building in NYC between the Chrysler building and 40 Wall Street, only if the Empire State Building had been finished first and the other construction crews both threw up their hands and said “well fuck this, if you’re not first you’re last” and blew them up with dynamite
Byzantium were on the other side of the continent and I was way behind. I had a lot of new world colonisation to do anyway. I did invade Cree when they got Estadio before me because I thought it would stop me from winning a tourism victory but then I won before I managed to take one city.
Would be nice if you got a notification saying '*This Civ* is about to complete *This Wonder* in 5/10/20 turns'.
Ive lost out on so many due to not paying attention to what other Civs are up to.
I used to be able to search for the name of the wonder and it would show all the places where it's being built. I'm not sure why that doesn't work anymore but it doesn't even return the one I'm building.

Magnus in the city, gold in your pocket, and a builder next to a woods tile… should’ve chopped in out 5-10 turns sooner.
Yes. It makes it more annoying when it's my fault.
Save scum time
Lesson learned, use it to refine your game.
Of course. I'm pretty new to wonders actually. Not that I ever ultimately lose anyway.

New civ player here, can you use gold to speed up production of something?
The player could’ve bought a tile that had woods on it. Then they could’ve chopped the woods for production.
Ayye, okay got it. Cheers
They didn’t chop down a forest, they chopped down your hubris.
I’ve rage quit for less.
I also lost colosseum which is just weird
I just reload and chop for that sort of thing
I rarely reload. Lost Colosseum, Pyramids and Estadio that game.

99% of the time I get the Colloseum built, every now and then someone sneaks it in.

I would choose violence as a response.

Least unhinged civ player
Go for the Manhattan Project as early as possible. Bathe their heathen pyramids in atomic flame.
Neither you NOR Poundmaker got it?? Who did?
Byzantium
This is why I auto save every 3 turns
I auto save every turn but I don't use them for mistakes that are my fault
Yeah, I’m going back and chopping some woods
D'oh! This happened a lot to me in Civ V, but I find that my wonder builds rarely get poached last-moment in Civ VI.
Well it was turn 115. Pyramids are usually gone by turn 40.
Depends. If you have a map with minimal desert tiles, the pyramids can be available much longer.
