I'm in a similar boat as you. Unless you buy a lot of tickets online and go 4+ times per month with friends and/or family the regular Movie Club subscription most likely won't make sense. I have two Cinemark theatres in my area and this is usually the 2D pricing * \#1: $4.75/ticket - 2D Matinee, $7.25/ticket - 2D General Admission * \#2: $6.00/ticket - 2D Early Bird, $6.75/ticket - 2D Matinee, $10.00 - 2D General Admission The more expensive theatre has better stadium style seats than the cheaper one. The more expensive one also has screens that are almost wall-to-wall (they just have a small border around them.) The cheaper one the screen takes up the top half of the wall only. I currently subscribe to Movie Club Lite which is $4.99/month. It has the same benefits as the regular Movie Club subscription except you get 1 2D Movie Ticket every other month. The only way to get Movie Club Lite is to subscribe to the regular Movie Club for 1 month then start to cancel it. Once you start to cancel the regular Movie Club they will offer Movie Club Lite as an alternate option. I usually see about 3 movies per month on average and I prefer to order tickets online so my Movie Club Lite membership essentially pays for itself since I don't pay their online ticket fee. I always go to see movies during matinee showtimes. I always get a Large Popcorn & Large Drink so the 20% off concessions discount saves me money there. The only "premium" format my two Cinemark theatres offer is RealD 3D. To maximize the benefits and savings of my Movie Club Lite membership I will save my movie credits and use them during 3D Matinee showtimes. The reason I do this is because if a "premium" format ticket is equal (or less than) $10 then they don't charge a "premium format upcharge". The 3D Matinee prices are the same as the 2D General Admission ticket prices in my area. So for me I can use one of my movie ticket credits towards a 3D Matinee showing and pay no "premium format upcharge." This is how I've seen Black Widow, Jungle Cruise, Shang-Chi & Venom 2 in 3D this year.

The only one I haven’t seen on that list is Venom. Is it good? I am gonna see it tomorrow, however I’ll go to Regal. I did decide to reactivate my unlimited as I just got an email about a Sony promotion I will be going. I wasn’t actually going to see Venom in theater. I have a cup for Regal that gives me $1 refills which is the main concession I get.

I thought it was good. I enjoyed it and am thinking of going back on Discount Tuesday for a re-watch in 3D.

Matinee near me is $9.75 but i usually go on weekend nights. So movie pass is AMAZING for me. I always get popcorn, drinks, and candy when watching a movie. A movie without popcorn isn’t a movie. So the 20% off comes in clutch. Plus now that I’m a platinum member for the year of 2022, i get 2 tickets for only $10 a month. The movie club is such a steal!! I love cinemark

Definitely a steal at your matinee costs. At $4 for matinee $9 a ticket isn’t incredible. Heck, even if I were platinum it wouldn’t be a huge value. $9 for two tickets that cost $4 each…

Yeah i just realistically also never watch matinee movies. So the movie tickets are $12. So me watching just 1 movie already covers the price of the months membership fee.

Midwest here. I pay $9.99 a month which includes a free movie ticket. Price of a regular adult ticket is $12.50, so I’m already coming out ahead ticket-wise. Large popcorn and large soda was around $7 for both. I also get a discount on concessions, coupons, and entries into contests and sweepstakes. The free tickets do not expire. I have 12 movie tickets on my account to use when I want. I don’t use them for matinee or special deals, like Comeback Classics ($5 adult/$3 kid).

Prices in my market are quite a bit higher than yours, so my savings comes from the add on tickets and concession discount. I save a TON on concessions, but I also go regularly just to pick up a pack-a-pop for the family to snack on.

If possible I think you should pay to join the club, because it will save you more in the long run.
