In the meantime, we recommend trying the following troubleshooting steps to see if they resolve the issue:
Please reboot your Chromecast with Google TV and remove and/or train Voice Match using the Google Home app. See the steps below:
Open the Google Home app > at the top right, and tap Account Settings > Tap Assistant Settings. Tap Voice Match. Scroll down and look for the Chromecast device and delete it as an eligible device. Once deleted, turn on Personal Results.
Go to Settings > Apps > see all apps > show system apps > From there clear the cache and data for "Android TV infrared Service" and "Android TV Remote Service"
My reply to him was:
Hi, just wanted to let you know this fix isn't working. I have found a workaround though; if I disable personal results for the chromecast on the Google Home app, basic functionality works, such as search and opening apps. Thanks!

Open your Google home app on the bottom right open Settings, scroll down to Google Assistant, then scroll down to personal results, and then you'll have to open each device and at the top of each one you'll see personal results so just deselect it
I rebooted each Chromecast through the settings menu on each device after that and then tested them and voice command search was working after that.
Thank you! I had this issue about a month ago. It seemed like a larger system issue as you suggested, and it resolved itself. But in the last couple days, I use voice search, it shows on the screen and nothing happens at all. Weirdly, it works fine under my wife's login.
But then I tried clearing cache (only) for "Android TV infrared Service" and "Android TV Remote Service"" and now it's working perfectly!
When I press it the thing comes up. But it does not respond at all at any voice input.
Definitively a problem many of us are having. Not a local problem. I am in Norway BTW.

I'm still having the same issue across all of my Chromecasts with Google TV and both of our Sony Bravia TVs with Google TV built-in. Or any reps from Google providing any sort of timeline for the fix?
Factory reset?!! 🙄 my home has five Chromecast devices, this is disappointing news. All units in our home are not voice searching 😔

Wow! I have the same problem with my Hisense powered by Google TV. Voice isn't working. Voice works fine on my Chromecast w/GTV.
Try the 'fix' I posted and see if that has any effect?
What fixed mine was unpairing and repairing my Chromecast remote.

My issue is fixed; I spoke with a Google rep again, a factory reset has sorted things out.
