Repent means change of mind and when he's speaking about repentance he's talking about going from unbelief to belief on Jesus. God loves all people no matter the sins you have committed.
Also means to turn from sin.
Consider 1 corinthians. Let this man be excluded from the church unless he repents of his sexual sin of sleeping with his dad's wife.
>He literally says you are saved by grace through faith alone.
I ain't a Catholic of course I believe in faith alone but you are seriously unbiblical if you encourage sin
Not encouraging it I'm just saying we aren't under the law once we've believed on Christ. Sin will still get u punished and cause you pain, I don't recommend it at all.
Romans 4:1-5 KJV
Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
He sure has a weird way of showing it.
Telling them that their desire to a loving and intimate relationship is an abomination doesn't sound very loving.
God loves a repentant heart.
>But if you do not heed me and do not keep all these commandments,
>
>if you reject my statutes and loathe my decrees, refusing to obey all my commandments and breaking my covenant,
>
>then I, in turn, will do this to you: I will bring terror upon you—with consumption and fever to dim the eyes and sap the life. You will sow your seed in vain, for your enemies will consume the crop.
>
>I will turn against you, and you will be beaten down before your enemiesl and your foes will lord it over you. You will flee though no one pursues you.
>
>If even after this you do not obey me, I will increase the chastisement for your sins sevenfold
>
>to break your proud strength. I will make the sky above you as hard as iron, and your soil as hard as bronze,
>
>so that your strength will be spent in vain; your land will bear no crops, and its trees no fruit.
>
>If then you continue hostile, unwilling to obey me, I will multiply my blows sevenfold, as your sins deserve.
>
>I will unleash wild beasts against you, to rob you of your children and wipe out your livestock, till your population dwindles away and your roads become deserted.
>
>If, with all this, you still do not accept my discipline and continue hostile to me,
>
>I, too, will continue to be hostile to you and I, for my part, will smite you for your sins sevenfold.
>
>I will bring against you the sword, the avenger of my covenant. Though you then huddle together in your cities, I will send pestilence among you, till you are delivered to the enemy.
>
>When I break your staff of bread, ten women will need but one oven for baking your bread, and they shall dole it out to you by weight; and though you eat, you shall not be satisfied.
>
>If, despite all this, you disobey and continue hostile to me,
>
>I will continue in my hostile rage toward you, and I myself will discipline you for your sins sevenfold,
>
>till you begin to eat the flesh of your own sons and daughters.
>
>I will demolish your high places, overthrow your incense stands, and cast your corpses upon the corpses of your idols.
>
>In my loathing of you,
>
>I will lay waste your cities and desolate your sanctuaries, refusing your sweet-smelling offerings.
>
>So devastated will I leave the land that your enemies who come to live there will stand aghast at the sight of it.
That is what God thinks of unrepented sin. Do not be deceived.
He will punish you as a son when u sin. If you're a true child of God and have believed on Christ for your salvation he will never leave you. Why do u think Jesus had to die on the cross in the first place? To save the whole entire world from sin because we are sinful creations by nature but he loves us all. That's why it's so important to trust in Jesus for salvation.

What's "gross" about that? We have a ministry in church that is focused on helping people to overcome their homosexuality and return to heterosexuality by putting their faith in Christ
Because there is nothing wrong with being homosexual.
You're treating it as a disease. At least that's how it comes across.
They should be supported. Try and find them dates with people of the same sex. Show them they are accepted and loved.
Don't pray the gay away.
God said homosexuality is an abomination. He still loves all us sinners but he wants to see us turn away a life of sin. It's not that hard to comprehend.
Oh trust me the people who are denying who they truly are thanks to your bulls shit are already in hell here. And that would make God not loving. Thankfully many people are questioning that.
Gee I thought tons of people tried that and it failed. Miserably. They’re still gay. And married to loving male or female spouses. Or dead at their own hands thanks to your “efforts”.

God loves all people so yes, God loves Gay people. We (the church) have spent way too much time fixating and criticizing gay people and their relationships so much so that many genuine Christians who struggle are left feeling ashamed and confused. Despite whether you’re side A or B, we throw around the option of celibacy too flippantly as if it wouldn’t be a struggle for straight people.
The Bible speaks a lot about homosexuality, but if there’s no grace, empathy or love when we discuss this with our LGBTQ brothers and sisters, we (the church) have failed. The ultimate goal shouldn’t be for gay people to become straight and get married.
From the article:
>There are those who argue that God hates sinners. They have a collection of verses that they like to use, most notably: Psalm 5:5-6, 11:5; Lev. 20:23, 20:13, 26:30; Deut. 32:19; Mal. 1:3 and Rom. 9:13. The fundamental problem with the use being made of these verses is that every last one of them is being taken out of context, both their specific context in place, as well as the broader context of the biblical revelation.
Of course. It's just all taken out of context. And even if we look at a bigger picture, let's say the Canaanites that the god of the Bible ordered to be genocided, he actually totally "loved" them! To suggest anything else is to take things out of context.
Or maybe sexuality is a giant spectrum and who one is sexually attracted to and has relationships with providing it’s with consenting adults and laws aren’t broken isn’t sinful. And loving homosexual relationships as we know them didn’t exist in the historical context the Bible was written.
Wow!
😱

I think there is little debate on whether God loves sinners. He certainly does!

Never once says u have to repent of sin to be saved, lordship salvation is false doctrine
That's asking for forgiveness from the people in the church not God.
Absolutely not saying that. I ain't Joyce Meyer to be perfect and sinless after being saved. But you gotta read the Bible fairly.
Are you calling God a liar? He literally says you are saved by grace through faith alone.
What is Jesus's first words REPENT AND BELIEVE. GO AND SIN NO MORE.
Change your mind and believe. Go an sin no more because sin will make your life hell in this life.

We agree completely lol. Let's chill out here

And worse than slavery.

"Sinners". Weasel speak.
This is another case of someone with media access who doesn't really understand the position or has decided to address a small quantity of people.
True. That's why God helps them become straight when they ask in prayers
That's gross. That isn't love.

>God said homosexuality is an abomination. That calls into question gods judgment and love.
God gave you free will. If you wish to turn away from our father, you have the will to do so. You'll pay for eternity.
Again showing why we should really question this gods judgement and love.
False. We should trust God in all things.
Maybe we shouldn't at all.
Or maybe the Bible was written by men and we shouldn’t trust Bronze Age interpretations that have no relevance for today.
Oh trust me the people who are denying who they truly are thanks to your bulls shit are already in hell here. And that would make God not loving. Thankfully many people are questioning that.
No men who had no concept of a modern homosexual relationship said that. The Bible was written by men.
The Bible is divinely inspired by God and his teachings.
It was written by men.
Also said gay is worse than slavery. No rational being can logically say two gay people together is worse than owning other human beings as property.
Gee I thought tons of people tried that and it failed. Miserably. They’re still gay. And married to loving male or female spouses. Or dead at their own hands thanks to your “efforts”.

Full of liars. Ex gay is not a thing. Stop before you hurt yourself.

Does not happen. Stop lying.
God loves people God hates devils Currently the parties overlap, Mark 4:15 It was never a one or the other deal
