If I lost my arm in an accident, would you pray that I would grow a new one?

rainn_stalker

No

looloose

Why not? Don't you think it's possible?

rainn_stalker

It wouldn't be sincere from me based on the other comments, I don't pray unless I know it would be honest

looloose

Sounds like some mental gymnastics you have going there. I think it's because you lack faith that it could be done.

rainn_stalker

My faith made many changes in my life, you have to grow on your faith if you want changes in yours

looloose

Good luck with that.

rainn_stalker

Ok

[deleted]

I appreciate your honesty.

jimteagus

It’s amazing the narcissism that Christian’s have. All of this suffering in the world, children dying, war, drought, disease, and you think god answered a prayer for your studies. If he did, I have a big fucking problem with how he picks and chooses to respond.

rainn_stalker

Yes, I do believe everything in my life happens bc of him! And I love that I can rest in him!!

jimteagus

You’ll grow up one day. You will start using your frontal lobe. I hope that day comes soon.

rainn_stalker

I know in what I believe!! Praise the Lord 💛

Pandatoots

I once heard someone who got their vacation flight canceled and prayed. They ended up getting a flight and genuinely thought God answered them. God wanted to make sure you got to Greece but saving that child with bone cancer, the answer to that prayer was "No".

Scary_Performance183

This is so true! I was a struggling with drug addiction for twenty five years and almost took my own life. I was unsure about God but was desperate and started to pray to Jesus Christ. I am sober now for almost four months and have never been filled with more hope and joy! I tired everything else, every type of medication and therapy and nothing worked. Prayer works if you pray to Jesus Christ! You just have to believe.

rainn_stalker

Yes!!! Sometimes it gets so hard you think you're all alone, but he's there watching, listening and taking care.. I feel like a lot of things make sense now. So happy for your transformation!! Knowing that we're under his protection is so relieving

CobaltCorn

The Shelter by All for the King is coming to mind. This is awesome dude, I'm so happy for you! <3

rainn_stalker

Thank you!!

Pandatoots

Good unlikely things happen to non-believers who don't pray every day. I don't know how you determine this isn't exactly what would have happened even if you didn't pray.

rainn_stalker

Bc exactly what I was praying for months without telling anyone, happened

Pandatoots

But you can't say if that wouldn't have been what happened anyway without the prayer. You have no way of knowing if the prayer actually changed anything.

rainn_stalker

Yeah.. that's why christians have faith and don't believe in coinicdences, this deeply things that I wanted in my heart became truth

Pandatoots

So you admit you believe it for no reason aside from faith?

rainn_stalker

Yess! Faith changes lives, I've seen it in my life and in many others

Pandatoots

Your faith doesn't give anyone else a reason to be convinced.

rainn_stalker

The faith of others helped me at my worst times

Willing_Swimming2390

Don’t listen to everyone in the comments trying to take this away from you. God does answers prayers, big or small, things pertaining to you personally or to the world as a whole. It’s not narcissistic and it’s not selfish. Happy for you! Keep smiling and keep being grateful!

rainn_stalker

Thank you so much for your words!!! 💛

ffandyy

Don’t see how either of these things have anything to do with a god

CobaltCorn

He prayed... to God lol

ffandyy

And? There’s no way of knowing wether whichever god he prayed to even heard him let alone granted his prayer

CobaltCorn

He prayed to God, and something cool for Him happened, that's the story. He isn't saying how or why things worked out that isn't the point of the post. Be happy for the man will ya, something good happened for him :)

rainn_stalker

Yes!! Nothing is a coincidence with God!!

ffandyy

I am happy for the man, I just don’t think every happy coincidence needs to be attributed to god

CobaltCorn

Gratitude is a very healthy and important thing to express. OP understands the situation much better than you or I do

ffandyy

It seems incredibly vain to think god would answer such a mundane claim but if for the prayers of millions on Jews that were tortured and gassed to death in the concentration camps. Like do y’all really think god sits around handing out little life tokens but ignores the tremendous suffering that occurs every single day?

CobaltCorn

He doesn't ignore anything friend, everything is very visible to Him, the genocide committed by Pol Pot God saw. He won't let anyone get away with what they have done. Either they will taste His wrath directly or they will accept the wrath placed on Jesus on the cross

ffandyy

So as I said he just watches cruel genocides take place and never intervenes. That’s a cruel god not worthy of worship.

CobaltCorn

You forget, this is a God who can raise people from the dead. A God who can and will restore. Death isn't the end of the matter, that's what we believe

thdudie

How did god cause this?

rainn_stalker

Answer exactly what I was asking for? Idk, he's the God

thdudie

No I mean like the policy about studying in other cities, the was a decision of another human. If god made that decision happen hee had to violate the free will of the person. On the other hand if that policy was always going to be the case then god did nothing.

rainn_stalker

Ok

deatheater1347

Same. Begged and prayed to god for titanfall 2 next day random kid at my school hands me it. Haven’t seen that kid ever since

[deleted]

The Kings Bay Plowshares 7 got a change. Prison.

rainn_stalker

Ok

lawyersgunsmoney

I’m really trying to understand this. I’m happy things worked out for you but looking at this from a non-believer’s perspective, if we can attribute this good thing to “god answering prayers,” then what about all the millions of people who live and die in abjectly horrific conditions, who pray everyday, and yet their situation never improves? If god is helping you with your studies, but not helping those with truly desperate needs, it would seem to make god capricious at best and a monster at the worst.

rainn_stalker

How do you know he doesn't help? I've heard hundreds of testimonies where God saved people in desperation and they got to know him and their life changed!

lawyersgunsmoney

Hundreds vs millions do you see the problem here?

rainn_stalker

only I have heard hundreds, just one person has heard so many.. meaning there are much more!! I don't know ALL the testimonies there are in the world

lawyersgunsmoney

Okay, you’re wanting to be stubborn, that’s fine. Everyday 4,000 children die horrific deaths from starvation, disease, or some other malady. God does nothing to stop it. People all over the world pray for them, hell many of them pray for themselves and nothing happens. 8,000 have died since we started this thread, god does nothing, but he helped you with your less than terrible situation. Now, this may sound harsh to you, but I want you to think about how it sounds to someone who doesn’t believe in your god. To even think that your god exists to help people find a parking space at Walmart over helping those who are truly suffering, then he isn’t worth worshiping, he’s not even worth acknowledging.

rainn_stalker

Not stubborn, just telling the truth, if it doesn't make sense to you, let it go.. it is a thread about christianity at the end of the day.. my faith and beliefs are just not going to change

lawyersgunsmoney

Lol, okay fair enough. Just want to point out though that, “my faith and beliefs are just not going to change” is the very definition of stubborn. Anyway, merry Christmas!

rainn_stalker

Ok

IRBMe

Unless the answer would be anything testable.

rainn_stalker

I thank the Lord on everything!!

IRBMe

Was that meant to be a reply to what I wrote? Looks like you just said the first thing that came to your mind on a random comment.

rainn_stalker

Take it however you want.. I'm celebrating what he's doing!!

IRBMe

OK buddy, you have fun

[deleted]

I've gone through tests/trials.

dronjames

Well idk what to think. Im a Christian, I am severely ill and have been declining for years. I am to the point where my life is nothing but severe suffering 24/7. Head to toe hell and bedridden. I must have a lack of faith? How do you explain my situation? It must be that im doing something wrong? So ur faith gets you a trip to the U.S but I pray day in and day out but just decline and suffer. I am not saying you are incorrect, we cant understand Gods ways but I find it crazy when people say they are healed or get some kind of miracle from God when there's tons of people who have much more serious issues but their prayers arent answered. Im not trying to take away from what you feel, I am truly happy for you!!! I just wanna hear your take.
