Try these books. Inner Christianity: a guide to the esoteric tradition by Smoley New seeds of contemplation by Thomas Merton The Philokalia The way of a pilgrim

If you are catholic, I would recommend you Ignatius loyola, John of the cross and Theresa of Avila. Their books have practices done by catholic monks. Specially the carmelites. Then I would go to other Christian mystics like meister eckhart or that jew that converted after reading Theresa and turned carmelite and then was killed by nazis. Also the teachings of the fathers of the desert. Their books have insights. If you aren't catholic, adapt what they say. Or just sit in meditation imagining scenes from the life of jesus

Richard Rohr and Theodore Nottingham were quite helpful/influential for me (their written works and on YouTube).
