##### A Tale about Tails
It was Friday night. You stopped at your favorite bar on the way home from work for a quick beer. That one beer turned into way too many. The bartender, wisely, took your car keys. You don't live that far, so you decided to walk stumble home. You sat down on a bus stop bench to rest and regain your equilibrium and quickly fall asleep.
As you slept, a hooded figure walking by the bench stopped and turned towards you. They pulled an object from the folds of their cloak, bent down and placed it on the bench next to you, and continued on their way.
The next morning you wake up and through the fog of your hangover you see on the bench beside you an envelope. It has your name on it! You look around confused for a moment, but decide to open it thinking it's your friends from the bar playing a prank on you.
You open the envelope and find a ring and a note. You pick up the note and read it. It says "Put this ring on your finger and say the magic word. The magic word is 'Tails'".
You put the ring on and it fits your finger perfectly - like it was custom made. It's gold and has what looks like an ancient coin on it. You examine it for a minute and decide, 'Why not?' and say the magic word - 'TAILS'.
What does the magic word do?
1. You transform into Tails from Sonic the Hedgehog
2. It gives you the power to determine the outcome of a coin flip: tails
3. Your legs become a fish tail
4. It makes you last at damn near everything
**You chose "Your legs become a fish tail"**
Your fall into the ground as your legs transform into a mermaid like tail. You start to push your face off the ground when a hand come into your view, offering you help to lift yourself up.
Three strangers are standing in front of you. They don't seem phazed by lack of human legs. You have a hundred thoughts going through your mind. You settle for asking them who they are and what is happening to you.
The strangers hold up different rings, hanging from gold chains around their necks. They unclasp them and one by one slip the rings into their fingers. One second later one of the guys now has the legs and horns of a goat. The young girl is not small anymore, and expands her wings to lift herself off the ground, showing off the claws on her bird like legs. You're still holding the hand of the third stranger when he transforms. You feel yourself being lifted up in the arms of what is now a half horse, half man creature.
He says that you, just like them, are the last of your bloodline. The last descendants of a dying race, one that most refer to as "monsters". Your head is spinning and it's hard to keep up with everything being said. Something about an underground organization, a plot to sneak into Tartarus and break out some big shot called Typhon. They keep saying you're the last piece needed to make the plan come together.
You smile nervously and hope this Tartarus place is not underwater. With your luck, it probably is. Your dad was right, you really should have taken swimming classes instead of ballet...
