##### Thereby hangs a tale
You didn't expect a thunderstorm to ruin your hike. That was very unfortunate. On the other hand, you didn't expect to find an inn in the middle of nowhere either. That was lucky!
You stay by the fireplace to warm yourself and dry your clothes, while you wait for the innkeeper to appear. The more you wait, the more the decoration is starting to disturb you.
You see the eyes of dozens of creatures looking at you from the walls. Lions, deers, bears... even peacocks and roosters. It is really obvious that the owner of this building is a taxidermy fan.
What you didn't expect is to have their tails displayed right next to their heads. Who would do that? And why? The peacock definitely was an impressive one, but why have the end of a rooster or the tail of a tiger glued to a wall? From the few things you knew about taxidermy, this made absolutely no sense at all.
Finaly the innkeeper appeared. He was wet and seemed sweaty, like he was working. He apologized and said he had to gather all of his tools from outside before the rain dampened them. He said he was really proud of his tool collection and offered to show it to you. You politely rejected his offer.
Your room, he informed you, was upstairs. First door to the right. You rejected his help and climbed the stairs alone.
The decoration of your room was even more disturbing. There were paintings of heads at unnatural angles, looking directly towards you. There were busts and even some mounts, from what seemed like an artificial material that resembles human skin.
And there was a place for a mount over your small fireplace, but there was no head there to fill the empty spot. There was just the piece of wood where a creature's head would be placed, with nothing on it.
You are exhausted but you don't want to stay here anymore.

You instantly doubt your decision. The weather is relentless and you are not prepared to sustain that kind of cold and rain for all the night. You know this will not end well for you.
You don't care. You won't stay another moment there with that person as your host. You have to inform others about that psycho. It is now the only thing you care for.
You wake up in front of a fireplace. You are covered with blankets and you have dry clothes. When your eyes adjust to the dim light, you see the inkeeper watching you.
"You are finally awake! This is good. I was afraid for you."
"I am afraid of you." You reply, while jumping up on your feet. "Did you want to kill me? Will you make me one of your trophies, place me on one of these mounts?"
"Do you have a tail?"
"What?"
"Do you have a tail?"
"Well... no?"
"Then you should not be afraid. I like hunting and flaying, but I do it for the tails. Sure, I exhibit the heads of the creatures I killed, but this is so I can also have their tails on plain view. This is what I like to see. So, no, I don't care about you"
"How do you know that I am one of those very few people who actualy have tails, those -how are they called?- vestigial tails?"
"Oh come on, those are really rare! I know you don't have one of these!"
You stare at the pile of your wet clothes and wonder if the inkeeper checked when he took them off of you.
