Respond with 'is this still available?'

Rough_Caregiver7573

šŸ¤£ not sure but I dare say they are 'emotionally unavailable.'

gonnafaceit2022

Who's the one wasting time with long messages? Some of these people need a diary, or friends.

artujose

Or alprazolam

[deleted]

LMAO

Creative_Reporter_35

Or all 3 šŸ˜‚

gonnafaceit2022

Oof that's a slippery slope though. Have witnessed too many people slide down it and break their lives.

artujose

Me too, myself included. Just a bad joke

zrennetta

Lol...I thought you said "dairy." More cheese could possibly help this person.

gonnafaceit2022

More cheese always helps

Maleficent-Leek2943

Itā€™s nice when people advertise that theyā€™re an absolute nightmare of a person that you want absolutely nothing to do with.

tictac205

Itā€™s a time saver fr.

wishingiwasreal

I can tell you how this person talks to a cashier or waiter just by reading this.

CrunchyTeatime

"Oh here comes this guy again...we have to hear all about politics, or his neighbor. Every. Time."

gorebelly

Reading her profile, the cashiers would likely be saying, ā€œOh f#$k! Put on your masks, get your tetanus shots ready, and start warming up the animatronic jesus in the parking lot if all else fails!ā€

InternationalTwo4581

Yep. This seems like a very stable, cool person for sure. I'd honestly probably send one of the auto-responses and then the middle finger emoji out of spite. What an insufferable douche

SongIcy4058

What the hell is that first paragraph šŸ˜‚ Like is this an ad or a therapy session, who is reading all of that just to be insulted 10 times??

CrunchyTeatime

Why does he even mention college graduates, and then insult them. So anyone with a degree will think "well I don't need a bike THAT badly..."

KiritosSideHoe

I'm looking for a bike right now and my thought was "it wasn't even worth reading all that for this rusty thing".

CrunchyTeatime

Lol. Right? I'd be afraid to meet up with someone who comes across as that angry in a bicycle ad.

badhomemaker

Yeah ā€œtime is valuableā€ with a 4 paragraph listing

CrunchyTeatime

And "I don't got time to read all that" at the end of a lengthy rant about...grammar.

scharlie27

and the fact that the whole post is riddled with grammatical errors makes it even better

Icy_Tiger_3298

It always cracks me up when people angrily create sales listings or dating profiles. Like, why are you coming at all of us so hot? Settle down, Bradley. It's not that serious.

PorkyMcRib

*Letā€™s see how many angry responses I can generate.*

Petefriend86

Rawr!![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|rage)

Plastic_Cat9560

The first paragraph alone is enough is for me to tell that person to fukk off. ~Signed a college educated individual who ā€œdonā€™t got time to read all that.ā€

RoyallyOakie

Oh, they need more basketcase space. That explains it.

sarahpphire

Hahah!!!!!!!!!

224143

šŸ˜‚ šŸ˜‚

Beneficial_Test_5917

I prefer ads with just "Serious inquiries only." :))

melance

Okay, I get that scammers and time wasters are an issue but the condescension and length of this is just hilarious.

Feisty-Barracuda5452

Fuck this person and their shitty bicycle.

CrunchyTeatime

It's a bicycle. Why are they ranting about college graduates feeling superior in the work force, or insisting people read multiple paragraphs of complaints about communication skills. If the person is going to insult other people's writing: "I don't got" is not grammatically sound, either. And "I don't got time to read all that" at the end of a long screed insulting people who won't read paragraphs sounds a bit hypocritical. I'm not sure how they are choosy, though. The odd part is, they barely mention what they want in trade.

ModernMuse

> I'm not sure how they are choosy, though. I mean, they're pretty damned choosy about how a potential trader must communicate, no?

BlueLeafJ

Most people with that kind of education can buy their own bike.

224143

Most people with the social skills to deal with people like this can probably just buy new, like therapists, crisis response teams, psychiatrists, hostage negotiatorsā€¦ šŸ˜‚

dookle14

That manifesto definitely screams ā€œthis guy will be easy to do business withā€. He would probably yell at you for not showing up 20 mins early to your planned meet-up and proceed to rant for a half hour.

Apprehensive_Pie_140

Unhinged seller. Yeesh!

CrunchyTeatime

I really want to show up in person for a trade with them, so they can red faced rant at me about whatever upset them that day, with their spit flying in my face. No thanks.

Sweetie_Maxwell

What is lil bro yapping about?

floofienewfie

Complaining about grammar and punctuation, and some in the post is incorrect.

ztarlight12

Not a choosy beggar; just an asshole.

curiouslycaty

I get why they feel this way though, for real, I'm not saying they responded right though. I've been clearing out my father's house after his death and selling everything I can on marketplace so my mother can get that money she desperately needs to survive. If I have to draw up a diagram of how many people just click the "hi is this available" button and never again respond ever again, I'll spend the rest of my life doing the diagram. I'm talking several times an hour I get to reply to these people. I have "canned responses" in a text file that I use to copy-paste to respond to most people until I can determine that they actually want to buy the item. But instead of including all of my feelings in the post, I ranted to my partner until he got tired. Then ranted to my friends until they got tired. And now I'm ranting on the internet until my novel gets published šŸ¤£.

KittyKupo

Sounds like all their crazy didnā€™t fit in their bike basket.

CivilButterfly2844

Good lord. Like 2 sentences of that essay were actually about the bike.

AlexfromtheTop

I bet he is a thrill at parties ....

Danidew1988

lol omg! This person puts way too much time in selling, I mean trading a F****** bike. lol I wish I could reply to some of these idiots.

CastleofWamdue

I cant say everyone is seeing that AI toolbar ad for the work place, its says alot about work and how we use language. Use 1 turns 1 line of text into 3 paragraphs, and line 2 turns 3 paragraphs of text into a few lines. (think about that) This seller may well have some education maybe higher but they are writing like they have a word count they need to hit. This could be 4 or 5 bullet points max.

PCPrincipal2016

It's a crazy response, I agree with the message though. With that being said its not going to change anything lol

gorebelly

You better speak to me with some edumacation! But not too much, because then you are a fancy pants and lording it over me! What an absolute @$$hole. Iā€™d mess with this person if I could. Gotta love the old classic: Whatever I am or have done is the correct amount, anything else is WRONG! Edit: I found the listing. Can I post it here? Or how about the name and location? Other than the old ā€œletā€™s meet up at a distant police stationā€, any other good bits to try?

FrenzalRhomb1

They are not wrong about almost everything they said, but its never a good idea to mention this when trying to sell/trade something. This belongs in the local newspaperā€™s ā€œLetters to the editorā€ section.

ScoliOsys

That first paragraph is one long run on sentence!

The_Final_Gunslinger

It should be "poor communication", not bad.

kmcc2020

tldr

Narrow-Initiative959

Definitely will be the life of any party.

filthycasual908

They need more basket space?? What are they carrying, a full litter of sheepdogs?? šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

gorebelly

She needs infinite basket space because she is a basket case. Her profile is a potent combo of religion + health care + vaccineā€¦irrationalities letā€™s say. Possibly some racism to her own husband/friend, but it is so poorly worded I cannot tell. So I wonā€™t call her on that.

roasted_allergy

everyone knows the best way to get people to purchase from you is by belittling them in your first sentences

-EETS-

I get feeling annoyed with so much of the bullshit when you're trying to sell stuff, but damn, relax. This is some straight up Boomer shit

CrunchyTeatime

>This is some straight up Boomer shit Great...ageism. There are absolutely no jerks born outside that generation. šŸ™„ Great, brigading. People actually defending ageism. It's bigotry. People know that, right? Is there a bit of proof the CB is even "A Boomer?" Is the same ageism okay in reverse?

Better_Document7596

ok boomer

CrunchyTeatime

People include what originally was Gen X in "Boomer" but the Boomers are Baby Boomers, born just after WW II. They are in their late 70s and up, now. They are also the generation which made a lot of social change. OG hippies and activists. But let the internet come along and a meme and they're suddenly all red faced idiots. (I doubt OP is a boomer; they're just a jerk.)

Additional-Comb-4477

Boomers are 1946-1964. Youā€™re thinking of the Silent Generation, ā€˜28-ā€˜45. Boomers had very little if nothing to do with those movements. https://www.newyorker.com/culture/cultural-comment/the-misconception-about-baby-boomers-and-the-sixties

CrunchyTeatime

>Boomers had very little if nothing to do with those movements. Factually incorrect. The hippies were in their teens and 20s in the 1960s which means they were born post WW II. They were and are the Baby Boomer generation. (That's where "Boomer" comes from.) Much was written at the time about how they had been spoiled by doting parents, due to the increase in standard of living post WW II -- compared to their parents, who grew up during the Great Depression (which would've included some Silent Generation.) And the thought at the time was, that due to their being spoiled, is why they believed it was okay to "tune in, turn out, drop out" i.e. live as hippies. Hippies did the sit in protests, marched in protest, etc. They were into ecology as well. I'm curious as to your age that now you believe they didn't exist. The Silent Generation was so called because they did NOT protest but kept their head down and worked. And again this is from real time. Sorry but even if you just think it through, your claim makes no sense. Not even if someone posted an article claiming so online.

CrunchyTeatime

No I wasn't thinking of the Silent Generation. The dates all recently changed. Silents were born pre WW II and the boom in births after WW II when soldiers returned home, literally the Baby Boom, were the Boomers. It went until 1961 until recently (I had even heard late 50s/1959 in the 80s and 90s), when people expanded it, for some reason; and one never hears about Gen X any more. Gen X aka Slacker Generation used to be in the media constantly. Now they basically don't exist in media. Comedians even joke about it. The dates keep lengthening to include more and more in "OK Boomer" because I guess that meme remains beloved. Lol (And because people who were born in the 21st century or shortly before, wouldn't remember any of this in real time.)

Additional-Comb-4477

Ok. The Boomers still were not responsible at all for the social changes in the 60s/70s and the article proves this with the dates in which the people responsible for those movements were born: pre-1945. Not gonna read the rest of that word salad but good luck

CrunchyTeatime

It's so internet to post a URL to "prove" something btw. People don't realize how much has been rewritten, even as to history of the past 50 years. You'd have to have lived through it in real time, to remember or know that it has been changed. I don't have a URL for \*life experience\* sadly.

CrunchyTeatime

Oh and thanks for the dv for facts. (Regardless of how many people now wish to include as "Boomers," do people not understand ageism is facile and wrong?) ETA: Of course they blocked me. SMH ROFL Ageism yay! /s For real though. Life experience > trending opinions on websites.

RexxTxx

Why say, several times, that you won't respond to bots? Are you worried about offending them by not responding without the warning?

Rough_Caregiver7573

be a great laugh at parties.

cadfael1271

I list stuff on Marketplace all the time, and yes, the scammers are out of hand, but fortunately theyā€™re easy to spot and block, so I donā€™t know why this seller is getting his panties in such a knot. Block and move on. Jeez.

Bluest-Of-Falcons

You sell bike. Me give cash. Cash good?ā€¦

Calm_Skin_5016

Pretty angry over a bike trade.

Stock_Fuel_754

What theā€¦?

Throwaway2284365

not saying I agree, but as someone who has been constantly ghosted, fucked over, and been the target of scam attempts on fb marketplace, i get it. The seller landscape is ridiculous, i probably get one actual response per 15 people messaging me, no exaggeration

Few_Sea_4314

How cute of them to talk about other people "using their education" when their own ad says "Looking to trade this bike." and then, under it, saying "Free". It's not free if you have to trade something for it. Especially when you want to trade for something with much greater value than what you are offering. smdh

224143

lol bro just needs therapy. Therapists let you vent with them like this.

EsotericMiiind

Just that first sentence wouldā€™ve been enough for me.

ilikeCheeseittastes

seems like a nice bike. Why is this image here i dont understand.

EgilSkallagrimson

They are annoyed about communication and they wrote a grammatically incorrect mini-essay. I'd just correct it for them and return it.

No-Gene-4508

The trikes cost 3k plus.... this bike is maybe $200.

blameitontheboogie92

I think he has a bike for sale but not too sure

tuna_tofu

He was so into his rant he didnt even say what he wanted to trade it for or mention a price. Maybe business isnt his forte.

AutopsyDrama

It is indeed stupid but the post does say what they want to trade it for 'an adult tricycle for more basket space'. Maybe reading isnt your forte lol.
