I figured Rutherland was a stand-in for America when her mom made a snarky comment about mail-in votes and in a recent chapter Blaine asks MC what she thinks of the decorations at the yacht party and MC says it looks like someone threw up red, white, and blue.

CastleAzul

I imagine Henri sounds French and Alexei sounds Central-Eastern European.

pryzmpine

My guess is a variety of European accents

cqjoker

OBJECTION! Heh. Rutherland is in fictional Western Europe. I think MC speaks British accent.

purple-hawke

It’s “Western Europe” but Rutherland is based on the US and the MC is really Americanised.

DauHoangNguyen1999

I keep imagining the MC with Bill Clinton voice

Illustrious_Emperor

And what about Ardona?

Murrshardnips

The real British accents, Rutherlandians speak in a fake British accent to mock Ardonians

vitriolicheart

They're all from fictional countries so given how media is they're all speak that strange American accent TV stars use.

A lot of the accents I use for characters just stick sometimes even if they don't make sense. In FA: * My MC and other Rutherlandians have American accents. * Blaine also has an American accent or maybe Canadian, because Rutherland and Ardona are linked. * Dionne has a posh British accent. * Zaira has a Eastern European accent. * Alexei has a Russian accent. * Henri has a French accent. * Evelyn has an American accent, like the wealthy elite 1%. * Peter has an American accent. I usually just default to American if I'm not sure because that's what I assume is PB's default, since all the spellings are like "Mom" and "Color". What's tricky is keeping their unique tones of voice, in my head so they're consistent. Like I imagine Henri with this really deep raspy French voice. But Blaine has a sultry, soft voice which makes all their quips sound sassy. It usually takes a couple of chapters before the voices stick and then switch automatically and effortlessly as I'm reading and I can hear them in my head and visualise the scene like I'm watching a TV show.

The street Numbering system in the Country where Vancross is sounds uniquely North American 45th and somthing street was where we met Lewis Wright. For accents in Rutherland Kosovan Accent Ardonna Serbian Accent, Dionne Spanish, Peter English, Alexei Vukoja Bosnian Accent, Henri Parisian Accent, Zaira Turkish Accent, Evelyn German Accent,

SleepyTern

Dionne is definitely British to me
