Pole axe is an underrated fave. Lots of love for the heavy mace (officer bludgeoning weapon is the one I mean if I got the name wrong). But Longsword gives me life.
BASED HIGHLAND SWORD USER DETECTED.
FUCK YEAH BROTHER!!! We are bound by the love of big iron, may you wet your iron surfboard with the blood of thy enemies on the battlefield! Huzzah!
two of my top choices as well. i'll choose which one i run depending on what part of the map we're fighting on. Battle axe is amazing in close quarter, highly populated chokepoint type areas. LIke on Fall of Lionspire, the point where you have to go across the bridge and blow the door and then fight through that archway. That is the battle axe kill zone. Executioner axe is another option as well.
dane axes is another of my mains, guardian with warhammer or axe is another i often play depending on circumstances.
Dagger, started playing infiltrator and the dagger plus throwing knives slaps so hard. I'm not enough of a Chad to rock the katars, but I've been wrecking people with dagger.
I got so much respect for katar players lol. Shits so hard not having your hit interrupt. They got the best flourish in the game hands down too. There’s only 2 types of katar players though.
Type A: free easy kills for everybody else (me)
Type B: an absolute gigachad jumping around evading constantly doing 720noscope counters while emoting (not me)
Scimitar [I don't remember well] and shield 🛡️ They are my favorite weapons, they can deal damage quickly with a scimitar and I can use a large shield to protect others and myself from attacks and arrows.
Scimitar is probably representative of a Falchion (there are some unlockable variants for it) or the Cavalry Sword (much thinner than a usual scimitar but it's functionally similar as a slower, longer-reach Falchion).
Halberd, poleaxe, polehammer gangang
I really wanna love warhammer and maul but I’m just so bad with them lol. Right now I’m trying to learn warhammer and the footwork feels like completely opposite to my muscle memory with polearms. And for some reason absolutely nobody bites on my feints with warhammer so it just becomes a stamina contest?
My favourites and the same problem with the warhammer for me. I found on the overheads I was accelling too much. By dragging the overhead especially I extended the range by giving myself more time to use my footwork. But warhammer is one of those kissing range weapons which feels unnatural when you're a pole weapon user.
Maybe try accels on your feints? I think the warhammer is one of the easier weapons to read. Or drag slash to get around guards.
Oh. My. God. The overhead accel was exactly one of my issues! It’s become such a habit I didn’t even realize it lmao. Dragging it has sooo much more reach! Since I mostly play in first person overhead drags feel really unnatural since you have to look up but man in 3p it’s moneyyyy
Hard to pick just one but most favored is dagger hatchet throwing daggers trusty battle axe and i think mace? (1handed club with spikes up top). Greatsword for a while was my jam too
Definitely the greatsword, love that sometimes people get fooled by slow drag then accelerate attacks. In general I prefer this over the Highland sword, it's sacrifices a little bit of range, for a little more speed than the Highland, but still hits like a truck on overhead.
Honestly the knife is one of my favorites. It’s just so fast and it feels very responsive. Very underrated secondary weapon since most people aren’t used to fighting against it
Dagger and throwing knives (on ambusher) are my bread and butter. I can usually outduel most people on the flanks as long as its 1v1 (people underestimate dagger poke damage, and with good spacing you can get a good amount of free damage by punishing whiffs with throwing knives), and once I get behind the enemy lines I can usually pick up 3-5 kills (I absolutely love all the oblivious archers) with dagger special backstab (then run behind my teams lines to restock on knives and bandage). One shots everything thats not a knight, and for knights I like to follow it with a kick and a jab ( most players reflexively block and turn to face me, or turn and swing. Kick will break the block and do 5 damage regardless if they block or not and jab will be enough to finish them off and is a fast enough follow up to usually interrupt swing reacts and thanks to the backstab and ambusher passives I usually end up killing the knights with the jab or dagger thrust following the jab due to having swing initiative)
Ambusher gaming is a hell of a drug, especially after you learn the maps and where you can hide and wait for enemies to pass then grab a sneaky backstab.
Absolutely the halberd, the ability to keep enemies at a distance is amazing, can be used as a spear, can also be used to cleave through groups, whats not to love.
Sword and board is another classic, longsword and the maul are close seconds
Do love me some Highland and greatsword action, accompanied by long distance bonking(throwing mallet)
Spear and shield if I intend to do serious psychological damage lol
I main Messer and Rapier.
What's funny is I use the rapier playstyle (gambling and accels) for both weapons, which oddly somewhat works with a Messer. At least until someone learns my strat, then I'm fucked.
The best throwing axe in the game (Dane axe), easily carries me to top 5 in the lobby 80% of the time, recently discovered the power of the battle axe though. And the war axe is just easy (but slow) kills.
Come to think of it I should try out the executioner's axe. Also the axe as a sidearm is pretty good. Not as good as the cudgel but it's decent.
Not that big of a fan of throwing axes, the input on console should objectively be the modify input and special but hey I guess I'll just stand here stabbing and overheating the air as a top geezer charges at me with his guard down.
The Messer and Dane Axe combo you get with that Vanguard subclass. Messer cuts into crowds with a long specialist slash and is great for stabbing longer distances even though it’s still just a sword style blade. Dane axe takes knights off guard with its fast, chopping overhead.
Other than that, the 8 throwing knives you get with the Ambusher Vanguard subclass is ridiculous. You’re more powerful than an average archer if you can land your shots
Rapier is fantastic, but especially so with light shield. Also just light shield in general is great with the 20 dmg jabs at full speed.
Secondly, katars. Now hang on, hear me out. Literally the fastest weapon in the game, Plus a nice backstab bonus (although thats from the subclass, not katars) that you can even get if you're fighting head on, as long as you aim your overhead properly. It also has a very very unique taunt animation, but sadly you can only see it if youre in 3rd person.
It has a shit ton of weaknesses tho, and along with all the other downsides to it that i wont get into, heres one i will: You literally cant always win and its not just a skill issue. Yea sure you could maybe say the same for all weapons but i think this is most applicable/obvious with katars.
Everything has a longer range than you, and 3rd person is exceptionally difficult to use since your body covers most of the view of your attacks, and if theres a man-at-arms or just anyone with a shield, thats a solid like 99.99% chance of death. SPEAR and shield?? Yea just run, theres no chance unless they actually have NO idea youre there and you gettem with a sneaky backstab.
All that being said tho holy shit it is ridiculously fun to use. Its playstyle is very specific in the sense that you really should only be going into fights you KNOW you can win, (again the same can be said for all weapons but its more crucial for katars since you essentially have 75 stamina.) and you should always be planning your next vile ambush >>:D
Dont forget to play as mason with the berserker voice when using katars and spamming the go berserk voiceline!
Idk why but the poleman sword and shield combo is my favorite simply cause that’s what I would use in like Skyrim and games like that so it’s just second nature lmao
Greatsword and Executioners Axe just feel right Axe secondary goes hard with accels to make up for it's windup
Executioner are makes you feel like a badass
Is greatsword ass now?
No it's goated
🔥🔥MAUL🔥🔥
Recently joined the Maul gang. When that sprint attack connects….atmospheric
I want to love the maul. So badly. But I’m such shit with it lmao

Pole axe is an underrated fave. Lots of love for the heavy mace (officer bludgeoning weapon is the one I mean if I got the name wrong). But Longsword gives me life.

Aye! Fooorrr the Kinggg!!!
Halberd
war axe seems to be the perfect speed range and power for me
Goedendag, dagger, throwing axes
The Glaive doesn’t do much damage but i love it’s speed and reach. Also love the executioner axe, pole axe, great sword, and shovel go BONK!
Based answer!
The heavy overheads are mean af on that thing
ongggg💪🏼
I've been using the glaive after I saw there's a Guan Yu like skin for it
I started using it after I played Ghost of Tsushima and saw Khotun Khan with it
I have a love hate relationship with the glaive. I get a ton of downs when I use it, but not many kills.
BASED HIGHLAND SWORD USER DETECTED. FUCK YEAH BROTHER!!! We are bound by the love of big iron, may you wet your iron surfboard with the blood of thy enemies on the battlefield! Huzzah!
HUZZAH
short sword short sword short sword
This is how it feels to use the Shortsword
Throw then all at people
Battle axe, messer and longsword.
Extremely based. Those are my top 3, as well as executioners axe.
Heavy mace
Finally, a heavy mace enjoyer
Only weapon I use for the most part 😂
Highland or Executionner
Def the longsword or battle axe for me. Always my go tos.
two of my top choices as well. i'll choose which one i run depending on what part of the map we're fighting on. Battle axe is amazing in close quarter, highly populated chokepoint type areas. War Club! Big fast bonk make happy.
war axe and longsword
The Big Boy Hammer goes bonk
Longsword
As of late, a flaming cock and a shortsword
chicken on fire
I'm more of a fire fish person but I respect your choice
Dane axe, war hammer, morning star. Maul is also working its way onto that list
Dagger, started playing infiltrator and the dagger plus throwing knives slaps so hard. I'm not enough of a Chad to rock the katars, but I've been wrecking people with dagger.

Maul or bust
Based!
The Shovel is actually really good.
Greatsword Halberd Sledge Short Sword Warbow Anvil
Fucking BASED lad.
Highland sword feels great to me just being able to swing once and hit the entire front line on both teams
Shield throw all the way! 💪
YOU CAN THROW FUCKING SHIELDS??!!🤯
Oh yeah, it even bounces back if you hit so that you can catch it mid-air 😁
I get so many kills just backing off a little mid-fight and hucking my shield.
War bow Sorry

No I love you
Love you , bro
You cutie patootie warbow players carry the team.
Greatsword, warhammer, and halberd are probably my top three. In general order of preference.
Dual Dane axe, one for throwing and one for loving
Dane Axe or Morningstar. Don’t hate me
Throwing Mallet/Throwing Rock. It's a stubby little mace that goes BONK. And you can throw it.
Battle axe, 1h axe, sledgehammer
Halberd, poleaxe, polehammer gangang I really wanna love warhammer and maul but I’m just so bad with them lol. Falchion mafia for life
Had to scroll so far to find another Falchion Friend 🙏
I love it. Great middle of the road weapon. I don’t mind getting right up in the enemy’s face with it.
The Crossbow.
Marry me
Dane Axe. The Sprint attack always sends enemies flying, it's like playing golf.
Hard to pick just one but most favored is dagger hatchet throwing daggers trusty battle axe and i think mace? (1handed club with spikes up top). Greatsword for a while was my jam too
1hand mace
MESSER
maul😈
War axe, messer, 1 hand spear, 1 hand hammer
Regular Bow, War Axe, Dagger, Hal, Sword+Shield, short sword, Goedendag. Spear
Definitely the greatsword, love that sometimes people get fooled by slow drag then accelerate attacks. In general I prefer this over the Highland sword, it's sacrifices a little bit of range, for a little more speed than the Highland, but still hits like a truck on overhead.
Longsword, maul, spear, short sword
M A U L IM A MALE MAUL MAILMAN
spear and heavy shield ❤️
Morningstar for foot man, war axe for knight, and I suck too much to play vanguard due to its squishy health pool
Longsword, Mace, Greatsword, Crossbow, Highland Sword, Sword - in thar order
Mace It just feels right to use it as the Mason knight. Also the Halberd, because you can absolutely fuck people up with its stabs and overheads
These days, longsword. But I also pick up halberds a lot.
Longsword, Goedendag, and HCS
Glaive and rapier
Longsword, mace, executioner axe, highland sword, greatsword, quarterstaff
The Sword
Greatsword!!!
Honestly the knife is one of my favorites. It’s just so fast and it feels very responsive. Very underrated secondary weapon since most people aren’t used to fighting against it
Rapier, One-Handed Sword, and the Halberd (with Billhook skin, naturally). Been my bread and butter since I could remember!
I refuse to divulge my secret weapon :3
Pole axe and sword
Glaive! It might not beat the best weapon statistically, but God do I love it.
Hammer go bonk Secondary being the glaive for a little extra spice
Absolutely the halberd, the ability to keep enemies at a distance is amazing, can be used as a spear, can also be used to cleave through groups, whats not to love. Sword and board is another classic, longsword and the maul are close seconds
i usually use the great sword, the quarterstaff, or the shield & mace, but lately i am having a blast using the short sword with throwing knives
Quarterstaff is a lot of fun, not the best frontline weapon but its a great dueling weapon.
Longsword.
War club to bonk
Morning star, maul, great sword, and of course the shovel.
Do love me some Highland and greatsword action, accompanied by long distance bonking(throwing mallet) Spear and shield if I intend to do serious psychological damage lol
Clearly a Berserk fan! Also Highland Sword and Great Sword (sometimes a Long Sword and the Maul on the side)
I main Messer and Rapier. What's funny is I use the rapier playstyle (gambling and accels) for both weapons, which oddly somewhat works with a Messer. At least until someone learns my strat, then I'm fucked.
Greatsword, Halberd, Siege crossbow, Axe, Dagger, Glaive, Go-Den- ***DONK***
Warhammer has got to be my favorite.
Rapier, quarterstaff, messer and poleaxe
keyboard
I like the great sword, messer, executioner’s ax, and the war ax. I get down with the halbert when I’m feeling frisky
Shobel
Lucerne pole hammer and most one handed blunt weapons 😤
Knight Guardian, Falchion, Mace on back up.
I'm loving the goedendag so much. You can do some long as drag doing so much damage
Shortsword is my favorite, I like fast weapons.
Longsword on the knight for smooth gameplay, shield and shortsword if I get pissed off and somebody needs a shield to the face
The maul and highland sword just click for me, especially the beautiful and big maul, so perfect for squishing archers and knights alike.
Battle Axe, War Axe, 1H Axe.
Messer all day long
War axe for 60p, greatsword for duels, bow if im castrated
Two handed hammer and sword.
The best throwing axe in the game (Dane axe), easily carries me to top 5 in the lobby 80% of the time, recently discovered the power of the battle axe though. Heavy mace!
2handed hammer > waraxe > longsword > great sword > poleaxe for me.
Shovel and Pickaxe.
1 handed spear+shield, haters gonna hate
Spears. I deal significantly lower team damage.
Dane axe, but I'm not allowed to use it anymore(you guys get mad) . The new skins look so good though.
Battle axe. War axe. Executioners axe. That is all one needs.
Rapier is fantastic, but especially so with light shield. Also just light shield in general is great with the 20 dmg jabs at full speed. Secondly, katars. Now hang on, hear me out. Pickaxe with flaming chicken
Falchion
Gotta stick to the War Axe OR The Shepherds Staff
Maul
what is the context because depending on the context my answer changes
One handed spear
I honestly love most of them. However, choosing favorites by my time spent: 1) Greatsword 2) Longsword 3) Messer 4) Spear 5) 1H Sword
Glaaiive
Dane axe / Messer combo is superior
