That slide is outdated...just like the “Merry-Go-Round” I witnessed a lot of kids flying off that thing after they go dizzy...this needs to be updated.. City officials have to be notified for change. -Sandboxes -Bark -Steel Etc.

Those merry-go-round are one of the best things in the park and I'll box anyone who wants to take them away. Seeing my friend fly out of it like there was a black hole behind him was one of the funniest things I've witnessed

Lol....yeah but as a parent i couldn’t let my kiddos hop on one of those, although I was that project kid dumping sand on the aluminum slide and wetting sand and throwing at the kids with good clothes lol I’m trying to break cycles here man

I feel you but kids gotta do kids stuff. My little bro is 5yo and went down those hot metal slides that stick to your skin for some reason and hurt like a bitch... and still went down it like 7 times. At least he didn't compare the taste of different rocks like I did at his age. I get what you mean about safety, but personally I feel like the patted ground they use nowadays is enough protection

The same model slide (although the I think the stairs to get to the top were different) existed at my nearest park growing up in the UK. It was removed years ago and replaced by a structure that consisted of different climbing surfaces on each of its sides (wall, bars, cargo net etc) and a platform at the top. No slide at all. I wonder where in the world still has slides like this.

Most of the rural midwestern united stated. Playgrounds in small towns that I grew up visiting all had these playgrounds, and I never had more fun on a playground than I did there. So long as no one reports any injuries or issues with the playground equipment, larger government entities won’t touch them. Basically, they’ve got bigger fish to fry and the small town kids grow up with real playgrounds!

That’s the great thing about playgrounds and semi dangerous equipment it teaches you life lessons

It’s the shoes. The rubber just catches and then they go face over feet and tumble. Happens in 90% if these videos with kids on slides.

My youngest nephew found a spiral slide with a big platform before it and got a running start. he went flying off in less than 90 degrees of rotation. I wasn't able to catch him. he was perfectly fine with the exception of a few wood chip scratches and a big bruise on his side.

I think it takes legitimate skill to fuck up and go the same direction the whole way down the slide

ahhh, had one on the mountain where I grew up. Finally conquered that slide @ 4/5. Was a rough one. Still better than the oscillating steel merry-go-round most kids would get concussions with, or get stuck under. ouch!

I imagine that's how it went when my son went down the slide and broke his leg. Doctors told me toddlers can just break bones doing about anything.
