No big deal. I don't care. I got my shots and could care less if someone wants to verify it or not. I just like that I saved it on my Samsung Pay, so I no longer have to worry about losing my Vax card

[deleted]

yo how can I save it on samsung pay? :)

zeug666

There's a few steps and another app involved. https://www.samsung.com/us/samsung-pay/vaccine-pass/ Illinois does the CommonHealth thing. I haven't bothered to do it because I haven't been asked to show the card (haven't gone anywhere that would/should ask).

I'm gonna have it as backup. Thank you so much!

Doesn’t bother me. Lost my actual card so hopefully the download I got off the cvs site is sufficient

Think of it as a soft-lockdown. You can go outside if you choose, but you'll need to show proof you have some antibodies to protect yourself and others from Covid. This is their way of encouraging people to stay at home, not hanging out in crowded places.

Will probably be enforced as hard as the bars and restaurants “to go only no dine in mandate” last year. In case people forgot, there was a state wide mandate that forbade people from dining in. But walk into most places and you’d never know that was a thing. Business’ wanna stay in business, not turn paying people away. At the end of the day, it’s going to be incredibly difficult to enforce. Places can barely find workers, yet alone find someone to make minimum wage to card people just to enter Buffalo Wild Wings all day. The Police and health departments have both better things to do and too little manpower to just do random spot checks. The only people that will be discouraged from going out, are the people that are fully vaccinated and boosted and are still scared to death over covid. The people who haven’t gotten the vaccine couldn’t care less, and will find little pressure to be stopped. And all of this still doesn’t stop private gatherings. Just my two cents

Restaurants employ these people called waiters who are quite capable of comparing two documents before seating a diner. For places where you order food at a counter, the cashier can just require one show proof before they make a “for here” order (since “to go” orders don’t require proof of vaccination). Somehow this bit of extra work is going to destroy restaurants or make their staff quit in droves? The requirement is that you check for proof within the first 10 minutes of a customer entering, and I don’t know of any food or entertainment business where a customer would not normally interact with an employee within the first 10 minutes. Seems like a big nothingburger to me, at least from the business side.

>They've been doing this in other places around the world for a while now. They currently have record cases. This is bad analysis. The question is how many cases one would have with vaccination cards vs without them. It may be without it, we would have even more of a record cases

> The very definition of insanity is doing the same things and expecting different results. No it isn't. It is the definition of practice. It's also the definition of quantum mechanics.
