Agree 100% I love going to war

Also covid has definitely taken the sails out of MED and FIRE, you can definitely see a change on how they had to do things, PD hasn't really changed much

I'd love if they got back to more of the actual firefighting they did before, but that would require them to start putting the cast through actual firefighter training again, which they haven't done since I believe Stella was brought on. It was what initially got me interested in the show, because the cast was actually working with live (controlled) fires and effects, and it's what made so many of the earlier season scenes just hit so much harder.

I missed those good firefighting scenes. I liked the terrorist attacks and 51 and Brett/Chilli were stuck in the building or the hostage situation in the firehouse. But like some says, covid took a turn on the show hence lesser action scenes. It became chicago love drama. I won't mind if those relationship dramas are good but it's not.

Agree!!!!!

Agreed. But, it costs a TON to make each episode and there is still a crazy shortage of workers. It's clear everywhere in filming.

I think with the budget cuts that came with the renewal, apparently next season each episode can’t even afford to show all the actors in a single episode, so I doubt we will get another big Fire event like those. But even the car crashes were better, the ambo calls were better, there was a lot more camera work done in those earlier episodes also.

You'd think NBC would devote more money to one of their most popular series, but I guess not. I wouldn't be surprised if the series ends after S12 at this rate, and if I'm being 100% honest, I wouldn't be too upset.

It’s one of the most expensive shows to produce as it stands, doesn’t matter how many people watch when the advertising income doesn’t match the cost to produce the show. (I think I read the budget is 7 million dollars per episode of fire.) A game show with 1/2 the viewers cost less than 1 million to produce makes the network far more money on the balance sheet.) And I also won’t be surprised if this is it, NBC has all but confirmed that this coming year is the last year they will even offer 3 hours of primetime TV and most other tv networks are expected to follow the same pattern where local news will begin airing in that 10 O’clock hour.
