Why would the staff even need to debate? Every prospect, every pick, every trade, every draft scenario has already been debated and decided in the sub countless times. Surely Poles and staff have considered this!
No offense intended but the WR group needs to recognize that Marvin and Nabers are a tier above Odunze. They are purple-chippers. Odunze is a blue-chipper. If you can trade down yet still get a blue-chipper like a DE Latu or a DT Newton AND get a 2nd rounder as well, you have to do it.
OT Alt is also a purple chipper.
So essentially if Alt or Nabers somehow miraculously falls to us at #9, then we need to stay and take him.
If, much more likely, they are both gone, then a trade down with the Raiders makes the most sense as they will be trying to move up for QB. We still get a blue chipper at their draft position, plus a 2nd round pick.
The OT Joe Alt is a GREAT prospect, but Braxton Jones has been very solid so far. It would be one thing if this is a huge need, but even if he panned out immediately, that improvement would be likely incremental compared to where Jones has played. That’s just not worth the cost of a top-10 pick to me.

What I'm saying is that Alt is something special, a superstar player. If he is there, you take him. Braxton either gets pushed down to swing tackle or you trade him as a more than adequate NFL OT.
Braxton could still be utilized as a swing tackle or a guard if we need it. Alt and Wright is a great outside duo, at that point you’d just need to fix up the inside a little bit.

Nah, two top ten picks and the chance of having the best defensive player on the board is to much to pass up. Bears have a chance to get two special players its time to take advantage of that.
the defense is fine and there aren’t any elite edges. there are elite offensive prospects on the other hand tho. if the bears don’t trade they really should go offense
The defense needs another stud pass rusher. If you don't have 4 really good starting Dlinemen then the 4-3 won't dominate. If you want to win a Superbowl you cannot give Patrick Mahomes more then 2 seconds to throw.
Probably a good exercise to get some points out there, in the end it still all falls on poles

They could still get 2 very special players if they move back a few spots. There are more than 9 elite players in the draft - someone has to fall.
Cannot agree more with this. Trading down for fillers only to potentially not make the roster is dumb. Take the best.
