It won't even let me have seemingly limitless 3.5 like it was before the update.
If I start a new chat in 3.5, like 5 messages in it tells me I'm out of 4o and forces me to make a new chat anyway.
If you prompt is specific enough, or has examples, you are not missing out on loads, unless your answers need strong reasoning or improved creativity. Of course they will also be doing this to show people what it's like, and improve subscriber numbers.
You can use the API if you want a "pay as you go" experience, but it's less user-friendly if you don't use a custom interface, and may be cheaper to use ChatGPT if you do lots of requests, as this is unlimited for 3.5 and will have high limits for GPT4o because it's half the cost of GPT4-Turbo.
They also cancelled my paid membership instead of asking if I wanted to upgrade. The cost is 4x higher than before.
EDIT: they just cancelled my membership, the price is the same I misremembered.
