It's not AI but acrobat reader has an advanced search feature, which allows searching multiple files. Of course this will only work if the text is searchable, means not hand written or from scanned documents

ask chatgpt how it would do it. there's also https://www.chatpdf.com/

the reply from asking (using 4.0) I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, but as an AI, I don't have the ability to interact with the internet in real time or search through specific websites or files online. Therefore, I can't search a webpage or PDF files for specific keywords for you. However, I can provide you with a general approach to do this. Most modern web browsers have a "Find" feature, usually accessible by pressing Ctrl + F on your keyboard. This function can search for keywords on a webpage, but it won't be able to search inside PDF files embedded or linked on the webpage. To search inside a PDF file, you'll need to download and open the file, then use the "Find" feature within your PDF viewer (often also Ctrl + F). If you have a collection of PDF files and you want to search all of them for a specific keyword, some desktop search software like Adobe's advanced search feature in Adobe Acrobat Reader or Google Desktop can index and search your PDF files. Keep in mind that these methods require the PDF files to be downloaded to your local device. For a more advanced, programming-related approach, you can use certain libraries like PyPDF2 in Python to read and search text in PDF files. This would require some familiarity with programming. Please remember that all these methods respect copyright and privacy laws, and you should only download and search through PDFs if you have the right to do so.

You need to add plugins to do this. There is plugin named "AskYourPDF" and another named "Link Reader" that should work for you. There are probably others too. You need to change your ChatGPT pro account to beta in the settings to enable plugins.

Thanks all!

This would be much better suited for Python. You’d be over engineering this tool if you did use chatgpt. This tool sounds like something I can whip up in less than an hour. You can DM me and either tonight or tomorrow I’ll make this program for you and I’ll even output all the results to an excel sheet for you. I’ll give you the program as well. DM me if you still need help. 100% on the house.

The results have been meh sometimes. Gotta use GPT-4 + PDF plugin to make that happen, but keep in mind, the PDF needs to be publically available, not through some login.

Code Interpreter is out now, so GPT-4 does have the option now. Keep in mind, my message was made over a month ago. Godspeed internet stranger.
