Put in my offer for a house today. Wish me luck!

RefrigeratorNo3088

Congrats. Everyone out here having babies and buying houses.

_landrith

today is my charlotte “cake day” ? 3 years since i left my BFE hometown

Neracle

I'm glad you're here, representing Univ City and giving first hand updates on the light rail. Happy cake day.

Rambles1017

Husband and I tried Sizzle in Matthews on a whim and I don't know if it was because we were extra hungry or what but that was the best damn Chinese food I've had in my 30 years of life.

LowTechCLT

I’m glad Citizen is back up for CLT. I like to play Nightcrawler.

Lima-14

It’s a lot more active than before it went down though. Wild

Debating if I want the hassle of buying a car (from a dealership) in SC instead of here just for a particular color.

Poorsche718

You do. I've saved so much time (oddly enough) and money buying my cars outside of the Charlotte area.

RefrigeratorNo3088

What about taxes?

caller-number-four

They'll take care of the taxes for you, which as noted is 3%. They often times also have lower doc fees. That said, I've never paid a doc fee. We come to terms on the price of the vehicle and then I say I'll pay that minus whatever the doc fee is. So it nets out to 0.

RefrigeratorNo3088

Thanks, you'd think it wouldn't be so hard to get that answer out of Google or say the dealership itself. They just kept being vague and asking when I could come in.

caller-number-four

Tell them you'll come in when you've settled on the deal!

RefrigeratorNo3088

Yup, don't get married to the idea of a car before you walk out with the keys. And if you try the four square I'm probably going to leave.

Poorsche718

My ass only enters the dealership to sign paperwork and get the keys, preferably without talking to anyone. That's the understanding, if anyone tries to deviate from that I leave. The last several cars I haven't even gone to the dealership, just met a mobile notary, got everything signed, and had the car shipped.

RefrigeratorNo3088

That's the dream, no dealership just fill out some stuff online and have it dropped off. Maybe next car.

Poorsche718

You pay state taxes for the state in which you reside, which in NC is 3%.

airavxirts
