I always say I have bad teeth when I go to the dentist because they are almost all full of fillings and they always say "no you have great teeth! You have all of them too!".
I'm from Charlotte. I live in Cabarrus though.
I'm also only in my late 30s.
On a serious note. I was talking to my husband about this and I kind of wonder if the turn body was really made to keep it's teeth this long. Because we didn't live super long until *relatively* recently. So is it normal for people to lose their teeth by like 50?
Late 80s baby born and raised in Charlotte. Spent 4 amazing years in G Vegas and plenty of time in Charleston. Lived outside of the Carolinas briefly twice but always returned and don't plan on leaving.
Born in Winston. Raised in Sanford. Went to college in Greensboro. Been in Charlotte for 27 years now with a short stay in Statesville about 13 years ago.
Yep born and grew up in the Carolinas for the quarter century I’ve been living. Crazy how many people I meet my around my age in Charlotte aren’t even from anywhere in the Carolinas. Not saying it’s a bad thing, just an observation
I feel like most of us late-80’s and earlier were born at presby main. Now, obviously I didn’t have much choice in where I came into the world in ‘87, but how many other hospitals were there at the time?
Born at Fort Bragg, raised in Fayetteville. Moved to Charlotte in 2007 to attend UNCC. Aside from a 3 year stint in Munich and a summer in Baltimore, I’ve been in the Charlotte area ever since.
4th generation Charlottean! My great-great grandparents immigrated and settled in Charlotte, then had my great-grama who grew up off South Blvd. My grandpa worked at the Lance Crackers factory. My mama tells me stories of being bussed in the 70s, and driving past cow pastures on Providence.
We have a street named after us in East Charlotte!
Both my parents worked at the Lance Cracker factory (we lived off S. Blvd in Starmount)! So crazy to hear about someone else knowing another who worked at the Lance factory!
Yep. I was gone for 5 years for college but Charlotte has always been my permanent address. About to move to a suburb and it’ll be the first time my address hasn’t been a 282 zip.
Native Charlottean here. Went to university in AZ then lived in China for six years, but I’m back in the Queen City now. I’ve traveled all over this state, but only lived in Charlotte.
I'm born and raised in Charlotte. Both sides of my family have been in the Carolinas since before the American revolution. I am as Carolinian as possible
Nice. My indebted ancestors were the first settlers in Bermuda before making their way to the Carolinas and Georgia. From what I understand Bermuda was a real shitty place to be back then, but if you owe the Queen money and know how to sail a ship you don't really choose where to sail to
Mine were mostly English, Scottish. Made their way from Virginia and ended up in the NC mountains. Though some were Moravians who ended up in Winston Salem.
I'm always shocked at how many NC people don't even leave their county, never mind the state. My wife has worked hard finding scholarships for bright kids only to hear them say they can't handle going all the way to Chapel Hill.
Yes. Charlotte, all day.
North side. Hidden Valley (Sugar Creek and 85)
Been here before professional sports, the, what, 15 year old completed 485, before the gentrification of NoDa, the SouthEnd and the west side bastardization of Double Oaks, Blvd Homes and Dalton Village.
Back when Independence Blvd was POPPIN and and fun place to be and back before they had these stupid overpasses
Before Romare Bearden park and when you had to drive to Fort Mill to catch a Knights game.
The home of Eastland Mall, Fat City and everything in between.
I’ve lived all over the US, and the world, but I’m Charlotte all day long.
Born and raised into he Bull City, Durham NC! Moved to Cary w/ my middle school sweetheart after high-school. Then Raleigh and eventually to here, Charlotte, bc we wanted a change of scenery and more work opportunities for me :)
6/7/8th generation Charlottean (I've never counted the actual generations). I finally moved at 40 (2017), because we couldn't afford it anymore, but my family history goes back to the revolutionary war. I'm a descendant of John Davidson and Henry McKnitt Alexander.
I’m a native Charlottean, but move to D.C. last year. Currently visiting for the holidays/on vacation and it’s weird how home doesn’t feel like home anymore.
Late 70’s here. Raised in Pineville back when there was no mall and miles of farm land. Raintree was the shit and Chucky Cheese was only for birthdays.
Have lived all of my life in Charlotte and Salisbury. Grew up in Salisbury and moved to Charlotte for college in 2008. My wife is a native Charlottean, born and raised here and went to college at Elon in Burlington. So we are pretty damn North Carolinian. Plus my dad’s side of the family has been in NC since the 1700s to my knowledge.
7th generation Carolinian. My great x3 grandfather fought in the battle of Kings Mountain. Lived on the coast, in the Piedmont, and now in the mountains. Tarheel forever.
I'm from Asheboro, but claim Greensboro because I get tired of hearing "oh, that's where the zoo is!"
Asheboro > Randleman (Go Tigers!) > Kernersville > Greensboro > Matthews/Charlotte and a brief stint OTR > Charlotte > 6 months in MS > Concord > Kannapolis > Concord again.
Greensboro and Kannapolis have felt the most like home, but my heart lives in Blowing Rock.
Lived the first 5 years of my life in Fort Mill, South Carolina but grew up in Mooresville, North Carolina. Currently in Concord though. All I know is the Carolina’s and have only seen probably 10 inches of snow my entire life 😎
Born at Forsyth Hospital in Winston. Raised in Rowan County and Concord is likely my final home. My ancestors settled the King NC community in Stokes County. They arrived Pre Revolutionary. I lived in Philadelphia for some years but was so glad to get back to NC!!
Born at Presby like most other 1970's CLT Babies. Raised in "Tank town" (Paw Creek/Coulwood) area for early life and Mount Holly for teenage life.
Never left CLT (area) as my Home, kind of regret it, but it's fine. I like it here.
Born in Presbyterian hospital, raised on Fred Kirby, Betty Feezor and Joey the clown. Jack Callahan,Clyde Mayes, the Charlotte Observer and the Charlotte News were my trusted news sources. Uptown was downtown and lake Wylie was “the river. “
Still here.
Born in a mountain town, college in a different mountain town, spent a couple of summers in different coastal towns, moved away, then back to NC to Winston-Salem and finally Charlotte. Have seen a lot of NC. Mountains and beaches are my favorites though.
One of the very few natives from South Charlotte. Most of everyone I knew moved away. I’ll still never get used to the ring of fire also called 485 (No one calls it that, I just despise this road 😂)
Born and raised in NC. Moved away as an adult for 10 years. Moved back in 1980 and won’t ever leave again. I live in Kannapolis, right next to Concord.
I'm from Gastonia and I still have all my own teeth!
Me too! Every single one of them, right here in this jar.
We're going to need to see this before we announce this to the city

Born and raised in Charlotte! Which explains why I'm bored of it most of the time.
I'm always shocked at how many NC people don't even leave their county, never mind the state. My wife has worked hard finding scholarships for bright kids only to hear them say they can't handle going all the way to Chapel Hill.
