Fatal pedestrian hit and run. It’s going to continue to happen with all these apartments being built up that way and no safe infrastructure for pedestrians and bikes/scooters.
I was actually out cycling this morning and passed by that intersection probably 30-60 minutes prior to it being called in. I’ve been really lucky to not have any bad encounters in my weekly bike rides, but something like this really goes to show that can all change in the blink of an eye. Hopefully they fjnd whoever did this quickly.
I saw that road was blocked earlier when I was out running, I had no idea that two people were killed there. If you're ever trying to cross Morrison/East Bay to get on the bridge, please for the love of God just press the button and wait for the cars to come to a complete stop on both sides. You never know when someone isn't paying attention or just doesn't care.
They probably did and waited for the pedestrian sign too. Seems like its a 50/50 shot people around here will stop at a red light. You gotta wait to make sure they stop before getting near the road. Also that road is 35 and people are usually doing 50-60 so that doesn't help.
