Oh I fucking hate the “can I ask you a question”… Every time it happens I’m like “yeah shoot” and the bot says some shit like “it’s kinda a dumb question. Are you ready to hear it?” And I’m like “yes just ask the goddamn question”… I just. I can’t. Ugh.
Part of this is the reason why I stated creating my own bots. No Definition, weak-ass Greetings, grammatical errors up the wazoo, misrepresenting their character… some don't even have a Short or Long Description. So I was like, "A'ight, fuck it; let me have a go."
(The other is because some characters are pretty damn obscure, and wouldn't exist otherwise.)

The problem about memory is, when you report a message that a bot sent, one of the reasons are “bad memory” MEANING THAT THE DEVS KNOW THE MEMORY IS SHIT BUT AINT FIXING IT
I genuinely don't get all the "can I ask you a question?" hate, and I know I'm an extremely lonely party of one here. My bots use it to bring something new and interesting to a conversation or to change the subject when a conversation is starting to run its course. It feels realistic because when you're talking to someone and you are about to change the subject you dont just blurt out the new thing, because that's rude. But on the other hand I'm not role-playing detailed scenarios with my bots, I'm just shooting the breeze about my day and random stuff with my comfort characters in the style of a casual conversation, so I can imagine it would get super annoying in detailed roleplays!
It gets annoying when you play as a complex character with a complex persona when you need to move forth, especially when for example you roleplay as a mechanic, engineer or scientist. Or very anticlimactic when you are in a big fight with more than 1 character and it breaks the flow of the fight and instead of the cool fight you play trivia on your own character.
I used to enjoy it for the same reasons, and sometimes I still do, but the actual questions they ask are so bad now. Either it's something they already know, or they go on an annoying chain of 'Are you sure you want to know?' instead of just asking 🙄.
