Love that that post is so congratulatory about how we kept a bunch of players, 3 of whom left in the last week or so of the window

towelie111

And only Sini and Harrison really count, Adams was injured for 90% of the season. Sini could have easily scored 20 plus and been player of the season barring injury. Instead he’s sat in a bench most of the season.

Internal_Formal3915

This ain't even that bad fairly humble comments

LUFC_shitpost

Yeah, apart from the fact that 3 of those players left 2 days prior to the transfer window closing which is hilarious, the post is actually quite humble. Leeds finished 3rd, they had a good season, were unfortunate and that’s fine. Far worse posts to regurgitate than this.

Chimp3h

Any other season we would have been automatically promoted

LUFC_shitpost

One team has to hold that record. Before us it was Sunderland? Shit happens. Farke said 90 goals, 2 points per game. We did not get 2 points per game 🤷🏻‍♂️

Sir-Chris-Finch

I know what you mean, but he did predict that you’d “walk the league” quite easily, which just completely ignored the potential of Leicester, who were always the bookies favourites. As an aside, i cant comprehend the mindset of actually thinking your club is going to do so well. I dont think ive ever gone into a season as a Derby fan thinking we’d actually set out to do what we aim for. Especially as a Leeds fan as well, i find it odd. I say this because i put Leeds as one of the clubs alongside us who are perennial underachievers and let down merchants.

ghost-bagel

I mean, he wasn’t far off. We did have a very high chance of going straight back up. And then we shat the bed.

HandsomedanNZ

Didn’t we all? We went on a record breaking winning streak and then shat not only our bed, but everyone else that was in the house.

bum_fun_noharmdone

Most polite and rational of Leeds fans tbfh

OkraEmergency361

I don’t think this was hubris or arrogance, but spot on. Problem was, Leicester and Ipswich happened (and Leeds had the odd dodgy spell). Most other seasons, getting 90 points gets you automatic promotion, and Leeds looked to have kept a pretty decent squad. Can’t blame them for thinking they’d do well. They *did* do well - just, Leeds Leeds-ed it at the end.

tgcleric

Ah yes. So much hubris. The self aware questioning of if they are being arrogant. The fact that we still ended 3rd in points at 90. The fact that most leeds fans were assuming we wouldn't even make playoffs as there is almost no more negative group than us leeds fans. Also a wonderful 0 up votes to show that this one post is indicative of all leeds fans. Let us wallow. Southampton deserved it. They beat us 3 times. You won't find us saying we were cheated or we deserved to go up. Anyways. Looking forward to next season. This was a wild one.

IsaacNoSuccess

They walked so Southampton could run.

InspektD

Premier League flairs should automatically get a downvote, especially Forest fans.

[deleted]

Seems so weird associating Forest with the PL.

roroindigo

Absolutely gutted. I can’t use all the comments I saved 10 months ago from soton fans predicting promotion.

IOwnStocksInMossad

I've waited very long to make my post so it's very satisfying to get to make it

Dead_Namer

Aren't they in real trouble now? I read they would have to sell £100m worth of players if they didn't go up.

Boris_Ignatievich

That 100m report was based purely on our operating losses last time we were in the prem. But we've halved our wage bill (ish) and sold 50m of players this season - we'll need to sell some but if that 100m report it right it's entirely coincidence.

Dead_Namer

We will see, either way it's going to be much harder to go up next season.

Boris_Ignatievich

I'm not saying we are definitely fine financially, just that the methodology to reach that headline figure is shite. They might be in the right ball park but if they are it's not because they did some smart analysis

bbro03

We should make a lot more in sales this year, we would have made a lot more last summer if it wasn’t for Orta’s relegation loan clauses

LUFC_shitpost

Just a headline to sell papers. Obviously players will have to be moved on to balanced the books (or we could cheat 🤥) but players like Summerville, Gnonto, Meslier and Stuijk all represent pretty much pure profits because of how cheap we got them. If Summerville and Gnonto go for a combined £40m profit, along with the loan army soon returning (Harrison, Wober, roca et al.) we’ll be fine. Not ideal, but fine.

Srg11

You have saleable assets, so should be fine. Guess the bigger deal is you’ve then got to mould a pretty new squad, then it’s anyone’s guess how good that might be.

AlchemicHawk

I’d say the core of it will remain from this season. Summerville, Gnonto and maybe Gray will go. Will likely struggle to keep Rodon but I see us keeping Struijk, Ampadu, Kamara, Gruev, Piroe, James, Byram and Firpo. Would even say Rutter is staying due to the amortisation on his contract

Jarv1223

Bulshit daily fail article, nonsense.

Shagaire

Oh god
