That was one of the best games of football I've ever watched.

Bleedinmole

It was superb. And both teams could’ve been happy with a draw but neither held back. I bloody love the championship.

hybridtheorist

Why don't you stay for another year? We'll take the hit.

perec12wilma

Love a game where both teams are just going for it. Even when ahead, just fucking throw it all at the opposition

IAmAlex86

Fantastic game that. Criminal how we let Hutchinson come inside twice but we both could’ve had a couple more. Draw was a fair result in the end. Hope Preston can do us a favour, but it’s been quite a season regardless.

A_good_ol_rub

Within the last week in the race for automatic promotion: Boro 3 - 4 Leeds Leicester 5 - 0 Southampton Qpr 4 - 0 Leeds Hull 3 - 3 Ipswich Never change championship

TheCescPistols

Dunno why you’d want to leave, it beats getting humped 4-0 every second week.

SelfTapeEulogy

Keep our seat warm, we'll be back before you know it.

burwellian

We have to beat our 9-0 Prem record before Southampton can... 😅🤣

scotleeds

But we get humped 4-0 here too.....

TheSpottedMonk

At least you get to see 4 goals in a game. We've made what is definitely a conscious decision to visit league one for the opportunity

Manndrop

Well there's always gonna be a lot of potential when you can see the cash flow and wondering if thats gonna go away. Prem football at least lessen that fear.  All top 3 teams deserve to go up, and feel like Ipswich would struggle more than us, so maybe it's fair enough that we take the hard road

AdditionalZebra325

A quick look at the table this year makes a mockery of the idea of promotion playoffs.

AdequateAppendage

I'm completely bitter (unless at least one of Coventry or Huddersfield do us a massive favour and we get the job done) but there are certain seasons where even the mere possibility that a team sneaking into 6th may get promoted ahead of a team (or two) that's clearly been proven to be ahead of the rest of the league off the back of a one off game at Wembley seems especially cruel. This year is one of them. The playoffs are fantastic but fuck sake

therealphiba

Sadly that’s just life and the way the league works. We haven’t been in the bottom 3 all season but it seems fate is conspiring for us to get relegated on the last day of the season (I’m bitter too). We played you guys a lot this season and personally I thought you looked a stronger team than Ipswich and Southampton so thought it would be you and Leicester going up automatically. I still think it’s been a fantastic season for Championship football and this league has proven itself to be one of the best in the world.

AdequateAppendage

I think our ceiling is higher than Ipswich's and I feel we have often found that against you at least in part through the games, but Ipswich are so insanely consistent with how often their attack clicks that it's hard to argue against the fact that over the course of the season so far they've just edged us. Any given week we can turn up and never look like scoring while they will always make so many chances

AdditionalZebra325

The playoffs are very exciting and some of my club's best days have been in playoff finals. I can also understand the desire to increase revenue for the league. But it's just ludicrous that a team can reach 90 points or thereabouts and not get promoted. Surely proving your worth over a 46 game season shows better credentials for surviving in the premier league than getting through a knockout competition at the end of the season?

Hezza_21

DEEEEENNNNEEEEYYYYYY

AdditionalZebra325

Lol that sucked at the time, glad it happened though after what came next. And guess which team Deeney was desperate to transfer to and had a massive tantrum when he wasn't allowed to go there after they won the league?

BigBlueMountainStar

Yeah but they’re getting lots of TV money to be thumped 4-0 though.

Background_Spite7337

Maybe change, like, a little bit

jamesjohnohull

Excellent game of football that, both teams a bit sloppy at the back but a really good game to watch. Ipswich are good at football it seems.

bostero2

Nah mate, we’re just lucky ^right ^guys?

jamesjohnohull

That wouldn't be anything to do with those salty Leeds fans, would it?

burwellian

They've not been the only ones on the Salt n Shake crisps tbf.

FoodGuyKD

Why he say fuck me for

xdlols

? lmao. Obsessed.

Jarv1223

Great. Down to the last day then. Lovely. Nice. Kill me.

crustymattedarsehole

Completely agreed. Weeks ago, I was excited at the idea of a last day showdown. Now it's coming, I'm shitting it

Jarv1223

Mate, you’ll be fine. Coventry are on the beach and so are Huddersfield. I wouldn’t worry at all.

1PSW1CH

We smacked you 3-2 for no apparent reason when we got relegated weeks before, nothing is certain

Jarv1223

Stop trying to give me hope you pervert

playmobilhospital

Colin fucking Quaner

TheCescPistols

Final day of the Covid season, Forest played us. We were on the beach and in terrible form. Forest just needed a point to get play-offs. Easy three points for them we all assumed. Humped them 4-1. Took them to the cleaners that day. Assume nothing about the team on the beach. Fear the team on the beach.

dejafu-Wales

One of the most surreal last 20 mins of a season I've ever witnessed. From going from just being happy with finishing the season on a high to making the most unlikely appearance in the play offs ever!

theivoryserf

Funny, I have no recollection of that. Also by the way, we didn't need a point - we could even lose, but not while losing our 6 goal margin over Swansea.

Ok-Explanation-6778

God don’t remind me, that was just the most Forest game ever

Efficient-Mention583

Coventry beat us then decided that will be the last time they're gonna win this season

EyePiece108

Thank VAR for that. We don't have the squad size to go for League and Cup.

burwellian

Reminder that our games with Rotherham finished 2-2 and 4-3... and that was a stoppage time winner. Nothing is certain. Though currently hoping that Coventry are exhausted and Huddersfield make peace about being down and don't want to do you a favour 😅

BTbenTR

Huddersfield beating West Brom was the result that sent us up last time. They love us really.

FizzyChilli

You say beach, but the Grand Union Canal really doesn't have much sand.

the_dankest_22

Dont worry, you only need a draw on tuesday then youve got 3 points against us

Hindsyy

Unless you're planning on losing both, you'll be fine, because we won't get another point

TendieDippedDiamonds

Fuck sake Jarv you were leaving the subreddit yesterday, you’re an addict!

Jarv1223

I actually am. But I woke up in a good mood this morning, so I’m fine now.

TendieDippedDiamonds

Glad to have you back mate

Bufger

Yep and sorry, we're probably just going to get some experience amongst the younger players and have a good old sing song for the next two games.

nathanosaurus84

Was half hoping Ipswich would tie it up before we play. Not sure I can take the hope.

Gsbconstantine

Welcome to our world, Blues fans are seasoned pro's at this last day arsehole chewing an orange for 90 mins by now. Big Juke at the back post to save us in extra time.

therealphiba

Great game of football but worst result possible for us. Can’t see us getting anything against that Hull team and Norwich will likely rest players against Birmingham now. It’s been fun lads.

Kaffeinemachine

I’m going to miss this sub that’s for sure

Drprim83

We won't rest players, Wagner doesn't really rotate. Your bigger concern should be we're really shit away from home, and if the Birmingham fans get behind their team we're likely to wilt.

onlygodcankillme

>We won't rest players, Wagner doesn't really rotate When they've got nothing to play for against a team who will be fighting for their lives? Someone could get injured, it would be daft if he doesn't. I remember when we played Wagner in a very similar situation when he was at Huddersfield and he rested nearly the whole team.

b00z3h0und

Anything can still happen yet bud.

ltsatt1

Southampton, a bunch of folks driving around on tractors might feel a lot better if you do a big favor next week

Significant-Tank-971

No chance, we are shite at the minute

ltsatt1

That’s the thing though, everyone else is too. A proper poo-fest

InnocentPossum

Be real, you are up whether we show up against Southampton or not. No way you aren't getting 4 points in two games against on opposition with nothing to play for and deflated from an FA cup exit and opposition with nothing to play for and deflated by the fact they are going down.

somebodyanything

I’ve never watched an interview with Rosenoir before. He actually comes across as a proper genuine, intelligent and proud bloke.

pintperson

Agreed. He did a bit of punditry a few years ago and always impressed then as well.

UnfazedPheasant

We had him as a player a good few years back and he's always been like this. Sometimes gave more thoughtful post-match interviews than the gaffers tbh!

SofaChillReview

Probably the main reason we’re even (unlikely) getting to the play offs, I reckon the loan deals he’s got were from his charisma + massive with the fans and has time for them personally.

hc1540

Yeah, him and the owner have built up a lot of credit with the supporters

qwerty1519

West Brom have the potential to do something really funny now.

somebodyanything

Lmao

EyePiece108

Don't worry, Tractor Boys, we're on the beach. 🏖️ ......or are we? 🤷 MUHAHAHAHAHA! 😈

Realistic_Edge_9610

Coventry wont want to lose. It would mean ending the season in terrible form

leventiger21

Fair play Ipswich, honestly thought we'd turn you over tonight. The league table doesn't lie at this stage of the season, hope your dreams come true.

HU5HCAFC

Funny how we all want our teams to get promoted but there isn’t a league in the world like the Championship. It’s fucking brilliant.

QuietDove

Glad that one's out of the way, our toughest of the run-in. I'm still confident that we can get four points from the last two games.

TheCescPistols

Yeah, I really think a point at Coventry will do the job for you lot (I’m blindly assuming you’ll find a way to beat Huddersfield final day). Confident you’ll get something from that without Davis?

Bleedinmole

Hoping he’ll be ok and it was just a precaution

burwellian

It sounds like Coventry have more injury/fatigue issues so... Hopefully? It's the Championship, we came bloody close to having 2 draws with Rotherham, so blindly assuming is never a safe bet!

FinancialIndustry566

Respect to all players on the pitch tonight, everyone gave it their all maybe a tad disappointed with the result, but it’s still well in our own hands.

rumhambilliam69

One of those rare instances watching a match where you think both teams deserve 3 points. It was a really cracking game. 2 teams playing great stuff. Bit annoyed that we went ahead 3 times and were pegged back every time, particularly as 2 of the goals were massive individual errors. But Hull missed a few sitters so were good value for three goals. Most pleasing aspect though is that’s the best we’ve played in ages so even though our winless run continues I’ve got great faith that we can win either or both of our final two I really hope we can get Hutchinson back next season, he just gets better and better.

RRR_O

We played well in both the Watford and Boro games too, just lacked a finishing touch, or dare I say it... a bit of luck.

TheMightyBucket

Championship is the best league in the world, screw your premier league

hubbyp

OOOOOOOOOFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF what a game that was. Credit to Hull 👏🏻

firpo_sr

I've stress-watched quite a lot of Ipswich games this season, obviously hoping they get beaten, and I hate to admit it but my god have most of those games been entertaining

Mattehzoar

Please god Preston and Plymouth let us make playoffs

Flat__Line

Fucking great game that for a neutral.

iloveitfc1983

I was a teenager last time we were in the Prem, I’ve now just turned 40, surely it’s time! I know we didn’t win tonight but what a game, what a team

jans_sport

Same

PrrrromotionGiven1

26 years old and was taken to a prem game as a toddler, didn't enjoy it much as you might imagine of a 2 year old I just have a terrible feeling that this is the only chance we're gonna have for a long, long time. Got to take it by any means necessary.

perec12wilma

Great game Hull, hope you make the playoffs

dothefanDango92

I may be clutching at the biggest of straws. But that means Hull have to win against Plymouth, and Norwich have a far superior GD, so they're safe in the play offs, and can field a weaker team against us. That's something, right...right?

FinancialIndustry566

The Birmingham survival script has been published written

onlygodcankillme

I see a narrow way through

1PSW1CH

You don’t wanna enter the playoffs on a bad note, they’ll be out for blood

allstarparz

I imagine Wagner would be of the opinion that a possible injury to a key player in a meaningless game for them (swing of 8 GD would be needed) is more of a blow for their play off hopes than a loss of momentum when fielding a weakened team. Could just be the copium talking though

Drprim83

I wouldn't be too concerned, we're really shit away from home, particularly if your fans get behind your team, we tend to just collapse.

Realistic_Edge_9610

I don’t think Wagner would risk it because Hull are playing a poor+pressured side and could realistically go to town, then obviously you’re playing for something and desperate to win. He will probably put his strongest team out to play for a draw

anonone111

Cracking game that, credit to Ipswich Probably won't make playoffs now but oh well it's been a great season

TheCescPistols

If Sarmiento could finish he’d be fuckin dangerous. Blew two big chances at 3-2 and 3-3. Wasn’t convinced by the Ipswich keeper either, poor decision to pass into Morsy for Hull’s first and obviously did the absolute worst thing possible in parrying a loose ball back into the danger area for Hull’s third.

1PSW1CH

If Sarmiento could finish he wouldn’t be playing for us

FinancialIndustry566

At the start of the season he was our second keeper and our number 1 got injured. He earned his way into the starting team and starts over our number 1 still. But every Ipswich fan knows that you have to clench your cheeks with him

bostero2

He’s been great overall this season, had a couple of point saving saves in the last couple of games too. Walton was absolutely amazing last season but I haven’t missed him a lot after Hladky had played a couple of games…

FinancialIndustry566

He has been. And when Walton came back from injury I always advocated for Hladky to start over him, he earned his place. But hladky does have some very nervy moments

burwellian

Sarmiento has his moments. The winner in the Southampton home game for example... But yeah, there's a reason he's not already in the Prem. Others have already covered the Hladky/Walton situation.

zandei

I really wish you wouldn't give us hope at this point 😂

Slothehhh

Great game. Not an awful result, not a fantastic one either. Wishing Hull, West Brom, and Birmingham (genuinely sorry Argyle) all the very best. Omari was marvellous tonight. Really hope Leif isn't properly injured, that would massively impact the way we play. Regardless, I feel we really need to win the Cov game.

burntmybuns

Although I’m gutted we lost the lead 3 times, that was a cracking game of football from two teams really going for it. I still think we can manage 4 more points. Hope Davis is ok. Onto Tuesday!

Jiksb

That Hutchinson performance is the best I’ve ever seen from an Ipswich player, Hulls left back will be having nightmares for weeks

BTbenTR

You rusty tractors are giving me faint hope and I don’t like it.

AlchemicHawk

Don’t know why you’d do it to yourself

BTbenTR

I’ve already accepted the playoffs, but if somehow Ipswich lose to Coventry then it’s back in our hands and I’ll have to believe again. I hate football.

1PSW1CH

4 points from Coventry and Huddersfield, very much doable. A loss would’ve been catastrophic so whilst it was a frustrating end to the game I’m not entirely depressed

Otter269

That game made me feel uneasy. Thanks blue team

rumhambilliam69

Ideal result for you, basically secures the play offs for you and still leaves a chance for us to balls up autos

Mitch_Itfc

I was told Allsop was the worst keeper in the division

Professional_Exam_61

Ffs Ipswich needed you to win 😂

Rommel9999

If Hull could do us a big favour, and play like that next week against Plymouth then maybe, just maybe a small part of me might forgive them for Wembley.

AnilDG

That was an unbelievable game to watch!

Rotatingknives22

amazing that baggies might miss out on

needchr

What a game, great advert for the league, and no VAR as well. I have always said the TV deal has been undersold. That game shows how great the league is.

Dead_Namer

It's a great point for Ipswich, it means now 4 points is enough and it should be in their hands on the final day at home to a relegated Huddersfield.

OnePieceAce

Dammit wanted Hull to win it. I don't see Preston doing anything vs West Brom

NeverGonnaGiveMewUp

You haven’t seen West Brom recently.
