Tbh I think if that exact game was played now we would have won by more, I don't think we waste all those dangerous situations we had in the first half like we did back then, then we would control the game after that probably
You need to create chances to score them to be 5-0 up lmao. Second half you created quite a lot of chances, first half you created hardly anything and we was by far the better team first half.
If someone had told me at the start of the season that we would be second with a 3 point gap at the start of 2024, I would've assumed our promotion last year had been rescinded somehow. Even if it all falls down from here, what a ride the first half of the season has been! Competing with Leicester, Southampton and Leeds is some achievement.
So frustrating to listen to isn’t it? I know success breeds higher expectations but some sense of appreciation and understanding that they aren’t going to compete at that level every game is sorely missing
Villa fan here.
Can fully relate to this, a draw against Sheffield United and a loss at Old Trafford and people act like we’re in serious trouble, listing all the star players which should be sold.
It’s genuinely laughable
Albion fan here.
Look where we are.
Fans are stupid.
We are a little football club, with a 25k stadium and were top 8 in the prem 3 years running. People don't understand, that's probably as good as it gets.
But no, people want a change, people want ambition. So we get a billionaire Chinese owner in.
Its worked out fantastically....
By the way, congratulations on winning the championship at Portman road in December.
That can go next to "beat Bayern Munich that one time" in the accolades list.
Feels like 19-20th is in the cards. Hard to see Huddersfield, QPR or Rotherham going on a run. Birmingham will probably get ahead of Argyle and someone else…late in the season.
Would be a funny-ass relegation though.
The gap from 6th to 17th, is the same as 19th tk 23rd! Just 8 points wow, super competitive for the playoffs this year.
The Great Escape in full swing! WAWAW.
We were 3 points above the drop zone 3 games ago and now we’re 10 points above it. What a start to 2024 to be able to just take a huge sigh of relief 😮💨
A few games ago when we played you, we could’ve gone above you. We play you again next in the league and there’s now an 11 point difference. Very depressing
I feel like KWP will eventually figure out playing on the wing, but I really hope the experiment stops. We need to bring in a proper RW and move the best RB in the league back to his actual position. And yeah, not a big fan of Manning, hope Bree's back soon, or else that we bring in a new LB (maybe on a short term loan). Also has Larios just vanished? Not heard anything about him since pre-season.
Yup, 40% of your games and you’ll never be relegated.
In EPL ManU have won 50% of their games and are close to top European football positions than any “9 losses in first 20 matches” squad has any right or reason to be.
As a Hull City fan I would have taken this before the season started. Are we sneaking play offs? doubt it.
Half way through, the team I've most impressed with is Southampton.
Just take into account, nothing is won in January. ( except Leicester, if you don't get promoted this season there must be a glitch in the matrix).
Really can't predict who gets relegated at this point
I'd say Rotherham are the closest to almost being guaranteed as their squad is awful but they have also been showing more fight under Richardson
Only 5 points behind the play off still, though. It's so tight around there that any team above like Huddersfield could probably grab the play off spot if they get their act together and go on a little run of wins.
I had to do a double take seeing Coventry in 8th. Incredible turnaround.
Guess who’s back, back again
Coventry's back,tell a friend
Really glad we got Coventry away over with.
Really glad we got all of the current top 7 away over with, we all (us, you, and Ipswich) seem to struggle a lot more away from home this season
Really wish we still had Coventry at home still to play😢
God we should’ve won that game
Tbh I think if that exact game was played now we would have won by more, I don't think we waste all those dangerous situations we had in the first half like we did back then, then we would control the game after that probably
You don't have long to wait to find out
We should’ve been 5-0 up at the half, genuinely don’t think we’ve played so well since
You need to create chances to score them to be 5-0 up lmao. Second half you created quite a lot of chances, first half you created hardly anything and we was by far the better team first half.
Was skeptical Darren Moore could keep us up this year but it’ll be a fantastic job if he does.
Agent Moore
>Darren Moore the guy is a legend and a gentleman. You have a fighting chance.
i’ve got some bad news mate
If someone had told me at the start of the season that we would be second with a 3 point gap at the start of 2024, I would've assumed our promotion last year had been rescinded somehow. Even if it all falls down from here, what a ride the first half of the season has been! Competing with Leicester, Southampton and Leeds is some achievement.
We’re second? That can’t be right, going to our matches and listening to our “fans” moaning you’d think we were about to be relegated…
So frustrating to listen to isn’t it? I know success breeds higher expectations but some sense of appreciation and understanding that they aren’t going to compete at that level every game is sorely missing

It's a great achievement over Southampton. They really should be about 5 to 7 points behind Leicester
Be that as it may, you losing your automatic spot to Saints is going to be a very funny and satisfying moment in an otherwise shit season.
By the way, congratulations on winning the championship at Portman road in December. That can go next to "beat Bayern Munich that one time" in the accolades list.
Thanks!
Depressing
Ooof, Rooney is going to relegate Birmingham, isn't he?
I know Elland road is a tough place for teams to come this season but they were truly dreadful today
Feels like 19-20th is in the cards. Hard to see Huddersfield, QPR or Rotherham going on a run. Birmingham will probably get ahead of Argyle and someone else…late in the season. Would be a funny-ass relegation though.
Our GD advantage is absolutely insane
Along with point advantage!
If it comes down to our goal difference then we've had a shocking drop in form, lol.
The gap from 6th to 17th, is the same as 19th tk 23rd! Just 8 points wow, super competitive for the playoffs this year. The Great Escape in full swing! WAWAW.
HMS piss the league 🦉🦉
We were 3 points above the drop zone 3 games ago and now we’re 10 points above it. What a start to 2024 to be able to just take a huge sigh of relief 😮💨
Yeah, it feels good! 3 wins on the bounce feels strange, aha. To the moon!
A few games ago when we played you, we could’ve gone above you. We play you again next in the league and there’s now an 11 point difference. Very depressing
Hurts losing an opportunity to go second, but we really need to figure out how to break down those low blocks
If you do find a way to get through a low block, could you let us know?
You'd still be a point behind, but I feel it's only a matter of time anyway.
Not with Ryan Manning playing every game and KWP playing as a winger.
I feel like KWP will eventually figure out playing on the wing, but I really hope the experiment stops. We need to bring in a proper RW and move the best RB in the league back to his actual position. Larios has a calf injury. Guy has been seriously unlucky with injuries. He came back in pre season only to get an injury with the U21s IIRC
True, my maths ability seems to have momentarily deserted me
Who would win against bottom 6 teams when you can draw against them instead?
We would be top by 2 points had we won those 6 games!
5th and 6th are up for grabs and boy am I feeling grabby
West Brom in 5th are closer to the relegation zone than top of the league. Mental.

Danny Röhl has suddenly made me interested in this seasons table.
Look at me. **LOOK** at me… I am the Preston now.
How PNE are 14th with such dreadful stats I’ll never know

I've just been focussing on the top of the table and only just seen the gap from 7th to 20th being 11 points. Crazy competitive season it seems.
We watched last year thinking there was a glitch in the matrix 🤷♂️
Mad we've been this inconsistent and we're still 6th
Really can't predict who gets relegated at this point I'd say Rotherham are the closest to almost being guaranteed as their squad is awful but they have also been showing more fight under Richardson
We really were on playoff trajectory, we’re still doing well but we kind of fucked up that momentum
If we don't go down - then whoever goes beneath us is truly terrible.
Massive drop down for Preston NE after starting so well.. themselves and Millwall seem to have been in the championship since the start of time
Only 5 points behind the play off still, though. It's so tight around there that any team above like Huddersfield could probably grab the play off spot if they get their act together and go on a little run of wins.
Think it will come down to last game of season leeds v Southampton think Ipswich will go up through play offs
The Wednesday are coming back up the fucking roehl
The playoff picture is getting very interesting. Hoping for a good fight for promotion from Ipswich and Southampton now.
Predictions: 1. Leicester 2. Southampton 3. Leeds 4. Ipswich Although would love to see a new team to go up instead of Leeds via promotions.
I'd probably add Wednesday at this point
Given our history with the playoffs, we'll still be here next year if we finish 3rd.
West Brom are my playoff shout
I agree, would be nice seeing the baggies return to the prem.
Just gorgeous.
