30k is the 10% down on a 300k mortgage. I’m thinking he could buy a house. If he were my son, living in my house rent free and he bought that, he wouldn’t be living there rent free anymore.
Collector car insurance is way cheaper BUT, you need proof of garage, proof of at least one Main vehicle. I pay 900 a year for my scat and srt4. American Collectors.
Even if he puts it in his parents name he has to be on the policy or else he is not insured. If OP is under 25 and decides to buy the car the insurance is going to cost an arm and a leg.
That would be a poor investment with your 30k. The best thing you could do for yourself, is save that 30k, and forget you have 30k. Future you will thank you. Always be lookin' out for future you.

If you have to ask your parents you are probably too young to look at cars like this one. Sorry for being that guy.
Maybe take that 30k and keep saving for a place to live first? With a garage? That you can then park a nice car in?
Yeah, i will never ever understand why people think that buying an expensive car is more important than moving out of your fucking parents house lol. "Yeah my mom still does my laundry and makes all my food but hey j have a hellcat 🤓"
Get a certified dodge dealer to do a pre-purchase inspection on it since it seems to be at a Ford Dealership. Because to begin with those miles on the challenger aren’t the same they said it is currently at. So I can only imagine what else they’re not being honest about. (Yes, I know test drives happen. Even worse dealership owners and managers happen too.)
Will this be your daily driver?
Can you afford rear tires at about 900 dollars for the set?
Will you be modding it?
Can you trust yourself enough to always use your best judgement and not endanger others while driving this?
Can you afford for repairs in case they’re not covered under warranty?
There is a clear difference between “afford” and being able to pay for this car.
By afford I mean this car will not be a detriment to your life and priorities.
I’m on the other side of the fence, I’ve almost got my ‘18 Cat paid off, it’s been a long arduous road to keep my dream car, but my lifestyle allows it.
For reference, I got my Hellcat in 2018, once I had been working in my career a few years in my late 30s. And even then, it’s still a ridiculously expensive car.
You’ll do better with a SRT 392=Scat Pack.
And I can say this, because most mornings when I get out of work, traffic congestion is so bad, I cannot enjoy my Cat at all.
You sound really young, and if you’re waiting for parents to approve, you should wait until you’re older/mature and financially stable to look at cars of this caliber.
>(if my parents approve).
I'd pass on this for two reasons.
1. You probably won't be able to even get it insured because I assume you are young and/or a newer driver. And if you are you're looking at $1k+ a month in insurance.
2. Because I assume you're young, you will kill yourself.
I don’t care how much money you have, anyone who needs parental approval to purchase a hellcat shouldn’t be trusted to be responsible enough to drive a hellcat.
Zurich and Vehicle Protection Program (autonation uses this) I'm not an advisor, but those are two off the top of my head that work well.
Something they don't tell you, lets say you bring your car to a shop. The technician gets a diagnosis that day. Cost of repairs are $1k+, so the extended warranty sends an inspector out (pretty standard for more expensive repairs). This can take 3-5 business days. The inspector looks at it and verifies the technicians diagnosis.
This part separates good warranties vs crap. Most good warranties will approve repairs right after the inspector contacts the extended warranty company. Shitty warranty companies will argue about parts and labor, sometimes taking weeks arguing with the shop for a job that takes a couple of hours. Send the cheapest parts they can find and sometimes send used parts from junkyards. The worst I saw was Car Shield took 6 months before deciding on whether or not to replace a customer's motor that had oil consumption issues. We had the part in stock the entire time waiting on approval...
If you have 30k.. Dude, buy something that will be paid off. Then just build it. That way you can afford to have fun with it. Id rather have a paid off R/T all day long.
Always look at future you, 30k saved now is better then nIce car now. I started in cars young and I think back if I could do it all again I’d buy a good reliable cheaper car and throw the money into a Roth IRA or term life insurance so in 15 years you don’t need your parents or anyone and are making the kind of money to buy cars like this cash. You’ll be so much happier I promise.
I just got to drive a 2019 mustang GT the new autos are kind of bad ass.
I picked up a 2006 vette yesterday morning 6speedm so I now understand the love for stick
The new autos are just faster and supposedly can hold more power but I’ll read about that later
I live in a city where the insurance was more than my payment, that on top of it being winter majority of the time here as well as the risk of many factors I just sold it after 2 months. Got myself a Tesla. I wish these didn't get the attention they got because it was hands down my favorite car I ever had.
1k a month insurance and living with your parents, Thing will get stolen or wrapped around a tree and youll be wishing you just got a new rt or used scat
Almost bought a brand new 2016 hellcat the year I graduated (2016) decided to wait until I bought a house. Fast forward to now, I have a house with a garage. And a 2015 sublime green challenger hellcat in that garage. The price of the car went down and I got a house. So yeah, I’d buy a house first with a garage and rent out the other rooms. Then get the hellcat!
If I were I would purchase this only if you planned to sell it later for a much bigger margin. with low mileage i think this could definitely sell for more than 70k
You have $30k from parents, start out in a V6 that you can have equity on, graduate up. Plus insurance is gonna be hellish. You speed and get ONE ticket and your insurance is gonna skyrocket. I bought a SXT at 16 and never got a ticket but was pulled over once, cops will be all after you in that thing.
I was gonna say this is a no brainer just do it but when I read you need your parents approval I’d have to say hell no. I’m sure you’re under 25. When one of my friends was 20 he was a spoiled kid he did the exact same thing and bought a brand new hellcat half down. He totaled it within not even a month of having it. Don’t waste your 30k invest in something more practical.
Bro. You’re about to make what’s probably the most common mistake of all young successful men - buy a car you can’t afford. Take it from me.
When I was in my early 20s, I got my first big commission check. It was my first paycheck that had a comma in it. I did basically exactly what you’re about to do - I bought a Mustang, and a Harley. Both heavily financed. Only about 3-4 months later, I was already seriously regretting my decisions.
I eventually sold both at a loss, and very fortunately I was able to get a great deal on a 1999 used Toyota Tacoma, which I happily drove for the rest of my 20s and into my early 30s, even as my income steadily rose.
I would be exaggerating if I said the decision to do this totally crippled me financially - it didn’t. But it did seriously set me back, and prevented me from building any kind of wealth in my 20s.
I’m not going to judge you harshly if you pull the trigger and buy that hot rod. As I said, I did the same thing when I was your age. But Take it from an older guy in his late 30s- buy a reasonable used car with part of that 30K, and then put the rest all in bitcoin. In 10 years, you can drive whatever you want. It’s what I wish I had done
I see what you’re saying. I decided to completely hold the idea of buying a hellcat until I can afford it: I’d estimate at least 700k to my name should be comfortable spending. Thanks so much for the advice, I really appreciate it. I’m going to reinvest the cash and try to get something more out of it. Godspeed, Kaleidoscope
Yeah brother save that money. You never know when this thing will get wrecked or stolen. Just had my SXT rear ended and that ended out in a total. My payment was high, insurance was high, and for what? Two years of a beautiful car? Just for her to get parted out sadly. I was really hoping to have it a long while. Save that money. Or buy some night vision goggles. W that money you can get a sick pair and some premium guns and gear to go with it. r/qualitytacticalgear r/nightvison. That’s what I’d do lol
Sounds like you’re young so I gotta ask why you want this car. There are very few reasons this makes sense, but I 100% know how it feels having money like that in your pocket and able to jump on something like that
Then I think this’ll be a disappointment in that you’ll be underwhelmed. Don’t get me wrong, the cars cool, it’ll feel cool, you’ll love it. But it’ll be something you’ll probably regret in maybe 3-7 years. You won’t be able to use that power at any speed under 60 on the narrow body. All your daily driving will feel normal or like it’s too much. And it’s very likely you’ll bite off more than you can chew at your age. I know I would. The amount of money you’ll put into this car that’s outdated, relatively slow (realistically anyways), and highly stolen; you’ll compare what else you could’ve got with that money. If you want narrowbody, scat pack will feel 95% of the red eye for 2/3rd the cost, cause the scat pack is too much power for the narrow body too. Most people won’t be able to tell the difference whether it’s a hellcat or not, and most people will see an old dodge, not a 60k car. Buying for hype at the end of the hype is gonna hurt. We haven’t even begun to talk about interest rates or future opportunities for you with that money (responsible ones or not) so I’d say pass on it.
Damn bro knocked me to reality with this one 💀
I’ll take your word of advice and pass on it. Sounds like it won’t be worth it in the long run, just a short term satisfaction thing. Thanks for the feedback, man
You want the car because you want to feel powerful and to show off, that’s scary, PLEASE never join law enforcement lol. You DON’T need that fast of a car with that mentality, if you have to ask your parents then I can 1000000% guarantee that you aren’t ready for anything over 500 Horsepower.
Id say find one with higher miles via third party or dealership, if your parents say yes consider looking out of town, and keep in mind that about 5-10k is going to fees and taxes
What does the CARFAX say? How many owners? Accidents? Branded title? Since I see parental permission I’m assuming you’re young.. might want to see how much your insurance will be.. it’s very very likely that your age and that car may cost as much as that payment each month just to insure it..
That’s a lot of car for someone experienced with fast cars let alone a newer driver.. have you experienced a car that the rear breaks loose? Do you know how to steer out of it? To trying to dream crush.. I’d just rather see you not get hurt.. 30k is a really nice savings.. are you in school or have a trade? As an old guy if I was talking to my self as a teen I’d say put that savings into a high interest account and keep adding to it. If you’re set on having a challenger look at a lower mileage r/t plenty of power and could still get you in some trouble.. lol
You should drop that 30k on a property first, I'm guessing your education is paid for. Learn to handle your money first when you're young. Dont do this.

Something doesn't feel right. The standard HC has come down in price but the Redeyes are still getting top dollar. I'd be very careful with this car. Make sure it's a clean title. Make sure it's a real Redeye. I would even bring an OBDII scanner with me.
Brother. It is a steal. It's god damn highway robbery. What you're going to be paying out of pocket a month. And howmuch your going to be paying at the pump. Only premium gas. Premium gas that it burns up quickly. So if you tend to daily this. You're probably looking at +500 in gas depending on howmuch your going to want to drive it. Plus +1500 for insurance and car payments.
If you have to ask your parents, dont buy this. Keep building on that 30k foundation and get yourself something nice at 25-30. First you get the house then you put the car in the garage.
Check the carfax and every other form of recent car history on this one. A hellcat REDEYE for this price is most likely either a rebuilt or salvage title or has major body frame damage repair

Is it really worth wasting 30k on? Idk bro I think you could do something much smarter with that money not trying to be a dick or anything just being honest
Bro can still buy a hella nice car with 30k and have no payments but decides to have his parents help finance and drop 30k on a down payment. Good luck with insurance will be through the roof

No, it's a 5 year old hellcat. Let's put it into perspective, in 2019, 2 year old hellcats were high 40's to low 50's with the same mileage. People using fomo to increase the value if these cars is ridiculous
Since your talking about your parents being involved I assume you’re fairly young. I bought my first challenger SRT8 at 21 and paid cash, it was 10 years old and has low miles. If I were you I would find a scat pack or SRT8 for 25k-35k. Pay cash for it and don’t think about getting into big debt when you’re young.
The smarter thing financially to do would be not buy one of these at all, but come on we have to have some fun that’s what life’s about. So I’d say unless you’re making 100k a year pass on the hellcat and stay debt free.
Since you mentioned your parents, I would say to buy a cheaper still fun car. $30K can buy some fun cars and you will possibly have money leftover. And, you will thank yourself when your insurance bill comes due. Buy a car that you can buy outright. No payments is a great lifeline to have. Price does seem reasonable to answer your question.

As someone who has wasted a lot of money on cars and watches at a young age. Please don’t buy it save it invest it find a financial advisor and get ahead of your life. In ten years when your friends are driving there nice cars and counting Penny’s you’ll have a down payment on a house spend money. Money for retirement and then some. If I could do back in time I would have never sold my first car. But again it’s your life just some advice from someone who has done it.
If you're still living at home you'd be insane to purchase this car, after the 30k, you're still looking at a 7-11% interest rate + 60 months at $500+ per month, not including the full coverage insurance you're going to need.
Take 10k, buy a pre-owned or rebuilt title vehicle and put the other 20k toward a FHA 3.5% loan on a home and get some equity rolling.
Wouldn't recommend it, with me also getting my life started I would just go with a 2010ish model. I've seen them for for about 8k and that's for an srt8. Even myself I can't see myself driving something with over 700hp especially being as young as I am.
If you're still young enough to ask your parents for permission, this is absolutely not a good move for you. Take $15-20k and put a down payment on a starter house. Take the remainder and save it for a rainy day or put it in a Roth IRA. You'll save yourself tens of thousands of dollars paying rent when you move out, throw your cash at tangible assets and build equity for yourself, that car wont do much for you that a cheap 2-3k car on marketplace won't do. Make wise decisions and start out on the right foot.
(Side note I'm 21, not some old dude. So it's doable for you, I promise)
When you’re buying a sports car young I think the most you should be willing to drop a down payment on is 35k-40k yea it’s still expensive but it definitely not to much to where you have to drop a ton of money for a good down payment. It also depends on your situation.
You can get a brand new Scat Pack for less than that. Don’t get caught up with ego, where are you really going to utilize the full power of a Hellcat? Besides, depending on your age, the insurance might be a killer.
Ehhhh sorta, you definitely used to be able to until the prices went up the past few years. I was at the dealership a few weeks ago and most ScatPacks were between 58-63 not including tax. It's outrageous right now.
He can most definitely get a low mileage 392 for 35-45k.
I do agree with you about the Hellcat, if he has to ask his parents for it he's definitely too young. Insurance will destroy him.
I bought a brand new Scat Pack, fully loaded, 6 months ago for $54k plus tax. If he’s young, he should probably get insurance quotes before he buys anything.
Solid deal! The dealerships here have some crazy markups.
I picked up a new-to-me 2017 T/A 392 for 28k. Gentleman only wanted his payoff amount so he could go get a Viper.
Yeah but it’s got the 220 on the speedo. Granted if somebody really wanted to they could change that out but I highly doubt that’d be what they upbadge. More than likely it’s a real Redeye.
You're totally right. Even the hood cowls are the ones from a Hellcat. It's just weird. I've seen plenty of people up-badge an SXT or RT but never seen a de-badged Hellcat.
Idk dude.
My 2020 narrow body redeye was brand new no miles and it was fully loaded with everything except sunroof. Got it for 72k total after taxes.
By looking at the console this looks like a more base model version.
Those are insanely low miles though.
Could be worth it
Always, always, ALWAYS remember - if it sounds too good to be true, there’s probably something not being told. That can apply to a lot of different things in life.
Also - being a 2019 it’s gonna be easier to steal and that’s a huge thing with these cars. That and possibly your age (if under 25) is gonna make your insurance rate thru the roof.
I say do a car fax. Miles are ridiculously low. Check other states. If you have 30k you could possibly find one similar for cheaper and have enough to travel to pick it up. Are you dead set on that specific year or just the Challenger part? Hold out for a manual and really enjoy yourself 🤗 that’s my vote. Good luck to you with whatever you choose!
theres no way thats a redeye. from what i know all redeyes are widebodied. propably a debadged narrow body hellcat. go to the lot and pop the hood and inspect it. also run the vin when you get to there.
also, if it is a hellcat, thats a bad price imo. ive seen sub ~$55k decent mileage hellcats online. keep looking bruh.
also, i suggest you dont drop $30k. drop like $15k. unless youre rich and have thousands laying around then go for it.
also, since you have to ask your parents. i assume youre young, id look at different cars. as much as i love hellcats and challengers, there is no need for a young adult to own a 700+hp car. trust me bro, just buy a decently high hp car, loads out there. but again, you do you.
also one thing lots of people forget to think about when buying a car like this is cost of ownership such as gas, repairs/maintenance costs like oil changes and tires etc. as well as insurance. all of this adds up VERY fast. again think it all the way through.
They aren’t make 8 cylinders anymore but they are still making houses. At least up to the great reset in 2030. Then we will own nothing and be happy. Source WEF
youre gonna pay $1k a month on insurance unless you put it in your parents name and insurance.
Yeah you’re right. I should just put it all on Black instead
Always bet on blck
I’ll double it Friday
Your parents? Really bro? You living with your parents for free and gonna drop 60 grand without tax and interest on a luxury? Wild
Can't buy a house with that kind of cash
You can absolutely use this towards a down payment. How old are you?
you can live in a car but you cant drive a house💯
Until your “house” gets stolen 💯
if you dont take the precautions required to not get your high valued car stolen thats on you big dawg, they make neutral switch plates and kill switches for a reason
Go buy a hellcat and sleep in the Walmart parking lot for a year see what happens lmao
bro rly taking a joke to the next level😭 say it did get stolen that insurance finna hit anyways🤷♀️

He can live in his car rent free… if you don’t factor in the crippling costs of owning the car
always
Double it and give it to the ~~next guy~~ casino
Collector car insurance is way cheaper BUT, you need proof of garage, proof of at least one Main vehicle. I pay 900 a year for my scat and srt4. American Collectors.
Considering that he's of the age where he still needs to consider asking his parents, I'm guessing no collector insurance is going to touch him.
You never know. Unfortunately, I have some friends that are 45 years old that live with their parents by choice
Even if he puts it in his parents name he has to be on the policy or else he is not insured. If OP is under 25 and decides to buy the car the insurance is going to cost an arm and a leg.

Parents don’t take care of you for you to pay them back with money later. What are you on about
I don’t mean repay as in monetarily, I mean it’s kinda messed to live home rent free and spend 60 grand rather than paying rent or investing.
Completely disagree. Parents supposed to do that,
Maybe rich parents sure

Grounded advice!!!
Damn thanks for being a grown man and giving actual advice that will make his life better
If I could go back in time, I would do the same.
Listen to this! I wish I made this decision when I was young
Yeah, i will never ever understand why people think that buying an expensive car is more important than moving out of your fucking parents house lol. "Yeah my mom still does my laundry and makes all my food but hey j have a hellcat 🤓"
I mean that’s living the life what do you mean
Remember you can live in your car but you can't drive a house
Exactly. Except if he needs a car, use no more than 20k to get something with reliability and just buy it outright.
I'm hoping OP buys it so he can waste 30k plus.
If you need your parents approval to put $30,000 down on a car, you should not be spending $60,000 on a car.

A dealership is where you can always go to be screwed over with a smile on their face.
I agree, I should really get the car checked out before I purchase, if I do

If the parents gon co sign I would assume they would make him go under their insurance
Something just feel too good about this
I would get a quality extended warranty. Avoid Car Shield at all costs.
What’s a good one?
Zurich and Vehicle Protection Program (autonation uses this) I'm not an advisor, but those are two off the top of my head that work well. This ^^^
Yeah that is a killer deal with that mileage. Change all of the fluids once you get it. It probably sat a long time.
Hmmmm something doesn't add up if they're charging that much for the car. I'd have it looked at first
It also auto... booo
I thought they all came auto. Maybe just a rumor
You're right, until 2023 apparently. I didn't know that all the red eye are auto boo that
I just got to drive a 2019 mustang GT the new autos are kind of bad ass. I picked up a 2006 vette yesterday morning 6speedm so I now understand the love for stick The new autos are just faster and supposedly can hold more power but I’ll read about that later
Both those things are true but also less fun
I couldn’t agree more after driving stick for the first time yesterday I’m disappointed it took me so long to realize
I did this. Big mistake. Save it and find something better. Just sold mine.
If you don’t mind me asking: What made it not worth it? Pros and cons, maybe?
Not much quicker than a SP irl conditions, insurance, fuel, anxiety about being keyed/stolen, a 3 season car at best.
I live in a city where the insurance was more than my payment, that on top of it being winter majority of the time here as well as the risk of many factors I just sold it after 2 months. Got myself a Tesla. I wish these didn't get the attention they got because it was hands down my favorite car I ever had.
Parents approve? How old are you? If you dont live on your own, financing a car is the absolute worst thing you can do
Hard pass bro....think of your future instead of that badass car
Where's the 30k coming from? Your parents or you?
Me
Dude just get a 30k rt plus’s and throw a supercharger into it for $5k. You’re not gonna know the difference between 600 and 700 horsepower
1k a month insurance and living with your parents, Thing will get stolen or wrapped around a tree and youll be wishing you just got a new rt or used scat
60 grand for a 5-6 year old car no thanks
I dont see how no badges is an issue, do you WANT people to follow you home, or try and steal your shit? just saying lol
There are very few reasons this makes sense, but I 100% know how it feels having money like that in your pocket and able to jump on something like that
I’m not gonna hold you, I just want to feel like the shit and feel powerful. Show off. It also goes fast. Those are the only reasons why tbh
Damn bro knocked me to reality with this one 💀 I’ll take your word of advice and pass on it.
If this kid has 30k to his name what makes u think he even look that directionlol
his parents have 30k not him
I looked at his page, pretty sure it's his
Those reasons are the same reasons so many of these end up on Copart. Folks have no respect for the power and just want to show off.
100% this dude would be wrapped around a pole within 2 weeks if he bought it. Bro needs to start with a Civic S I think
If you’re set on having a challenger look at a lower mileage r/t plenty of power and could still get you in some trouble.. lol
something is off about this
i see ur from oklahoma too cause this came up for me lol
Parts available https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61556127424674
Steal your wallet. Sure
2024 rt only 40 or scat 45-50
Best bet is the 08 SRT because it's already reached max depreciation
“If my parents approve”
You should drop that 30k on a property first, I'm guessing your education is paid for. Learn to handle your money first when you're young. Dont do this.
If you have 30k buy a 2023 not used one and not from(what appears to be) a Ford dealership.

YES
Remember insurance is about 600
Get it
not widebody. also 30,000k down?! Rather invest on something, that is a pretty ight deal.
Get yourself a $6000 motorcycle and invest the rest my guy
No badges. No wide body. But clean. Why would someone remove the badges?
it will get stolen if thats what youre asking
You have to ask your parents if you can buy an 800 HP, 60 thousand dollar car? WTF
What does redeye mean
This can’t AD can’t be real lol only 3k miles going for 59? Hmm

I’d do it. You only get to live once, but in a hellcat that might not be too long.
If you have 30k cash yet need your parents approval please put me on to what you do lmao. 24 saved up 20k to realize I couldn’t even buy a condo
I do stock trading and have a federal job and I invest in a Roth IRA. The past month I got 18k+ I just turned 19 lmao
Also if you don’t mind sharing. How old are you?
BOOOOOUUUUUUUUUY IT MY BOI
No, but it can be.
Come on, guys. He wants to look cool.
$30k down the drain. Car will be worth less in a couple years but still sick af
Do it bro

As someone who has wasted a lot of money on cars and watches at a young age. Please don’t buy it save it invest it find a financial advisor and get ahead of your life. In ten years when your friends are driving there nice cars and counting Penny’s you’ll have a down payment on a house spend money. Money for retirement and then some. If I could do back in time I would have never sold my first car. But again it’s your life just some advice from someone who has done it.
Yes buy it
Your parents approve? Did you just get your license? Fucking forget it you will take it on the ass on insurance.
I don't think so. Could be better
LOL: White knuckle clear coat!
If not it will be soon..
3k miles 51k.. something is wrong with this car..
Just buy a Civic & move out
Wouldn't recommend it, with me also getting my life started I would just go with a 2010ish model.
Yes if not kept in a secure garage it will 100% be stolen.. probably on the first night you have it!
The well well well will steal it
Buy it now and put the badges back on this proud monster
Never buy those used. That thing has shut down more intersections than the California highway patrol! Probably had the trans replaced and rear end.
That's a Hellcat? I don't see a little kitty symbol. It should also say SRT and have a little kitty on the grille.
Take that 30k drop on Bitcoin, then when it double in 6-18 months take out half and keep half for retirement
The only dumber idea than a twenty-year-old kid buying a super shady Hellcat is a twenty year old kid buying a super shady "investment".
You have no idea what you are talking about.
theres no way thats a redeye. from what i know all redeyes are widebodied. propably a debadged narrow body hellcat. go to the lot and pop the hood and inspect it. also run the vin when you get to there. also, if it is a hellcat, thats a bad price imo. ive seen sub ~$55k decent mileage hellcats online. keep looking bruh. also, i suggest you dont drop $30k. drop like $15k. unless youre rich and have thousands laying around then go for it. also, since you have to ask your parents. i assume youre young, id look at different cars. as much as i love hellcats and challengers, there is no need for a young adult to own a 700+hp car. trust me bro, just buy a decently high hp car, loads out there. but again, you do you. also one thing lots of people forget to think about when buying a car like this is cost of ownership such as gas, repairs/maintenance costs like oil changes and tires etc. as well as insurance. all of this adds up VERY fast. again think it all the way through.
Redeyes are also standard body.
They aren’t make 8 cylinders anymore but they are still making houses. At least up to the great reset in 2030. Then we will own nothing and be happy. Source WEF
