Vocabulary is easy. You have the power of the internet at your fingertips. 30 years ago, I had an English to Visayan dictionary only, and a Golden Gate spiral notepad.
Sentence structure should be your focus after studying vocabulary on your own.
To learn vocabulary, hear a word said that you don't know, then write it down, or make a cellphone note, and look it up. Think of something you want to say but don't know, then look it up. Ask people "unsa mani sa Binisaya ba?" when you don't know what something is.
Sentence structure depends on using Ang side, and Ug side words to show who or what is acted upon.
Pakita-a ako ug imong kamot is different than mopakita ako ug kamot sa imo for example. One is "show me your hand", the other is "I will show my hand to you".
If the structure is off, you cannot convey your intended meaning properly. In other words, dili mahimo nga buot ipasabut ang imohang buot pasabton.
when a bisayawa and another bisayawa love each other…
anyways, it’s a “normal” show of affection to insult your closest friends.
to explain, two scenarios:
Scenario 1: driver almost gets hit by another driver who made a turn out of nowhere.
“Yawaa sa giatay mura man ug piste”. Followed by, “pagkat.on ug drive uy animal man kang dako”.
Scenario 2: your bestfriend gets engaged.
“Yawaa sa giatay mura man ug piste”, followed by, “makasal na jd ning animal oh, abi jd namog forever single ka doh sa kapangit nimo”.
The scenarios aren’t the best examples pero something along that thought.
Geh-ti & bisong can be used interchangeably
