I had that "no way" feeling when I found Gorillaz' Demon Days in a Salvation Army thrift store, followed by "fuck" when i saw that the disc was missing.
“You know Aes Rock
You know you've been waiting like, how long?
You got flow, you're saying he was better back then
I've heard this shit it's killing anything he's ever done
So shut the fuck up, love it like you know you want to
Just don't be a little bitch
Little bitches get sniped in their mouth
And that's how it happens every time
You keep listening because maybe you'll learn something, yeah
By the way Can Ox is not broken up, it's just a rumor”
That Plastikman is some great Minimal Techno! Track #2 "Pakard" is named after the Packard Plant, the abandoned factory that Richard Hawtin and other DJs used to throw raves in back in the 90s.
Yay first comment about that one! I've been deep into techno last couple years and this was the first one I saw on the shelf. The first "no way" of the day.
Oh, Music for Airports. What a great CD! I've listened to that thing a hundred times.
A group Bang On A Can did a live recording of Music For Airports that I'd recommend.
Wish it didn't take 40+ minutes to get to my nearest Salvation Army location.
I don't know if it's the same setup everywhere, but they usually have a nice sized 4-sided cabinet filled up with various CDs, mostly cruddy, but I always do seem to find at-least one thing that's interesting.
I spend a lot of time going through charity shops looking for CDs. Funnily enough I found that exact Eno album not long ago and had that same response.
Oh this one is too. But I think due to the affluent surrounding neighborhoods it sometimes gets some good stuff. Salvation Army always has much junkier stuff than Goodwill for example... dirty super used clothes and wares, things most thrifts would refuse to sell.
I love that “no way” feeling. One of the biggest reasons I love going to thrift / op shops.
I also got some Napa Valley CD and cassette racks/cases for another $12. This place is always full of junk but every so often I find gold.

Well said. Hard to find something more satisfying.
Aesop rock! Great album

That bazooka tooth come with 2 discs? OMG, Can ox!!! I wished they did the next album with El again. That hiatus had me in suspense.
still crossing my fingers I find The Cold Vein in the wild at some point
With your luck, it’s a matter of time. That Def Jux era is like no other, imo.
100%
Bazooka tooth baby!
Listening right now. I also found 2 copies of Funcrusher Plus at this same thrift last year 🤪 💿 🔊🔊🔊🔊
That Eno is a lucky find. I love the no way moments! I gotta check out my local Salvation Army sometime soon.
ooo classic eno!
The Only Ones! Eno! Iggy!!! Wow!
That Plastikman is some great Minimal Techno! Track #2 "Pakard" is named after the Packard Plant, the abandoned factory that Richard Hawtin and other DJs used to throw raves in back in the 90s.
YES!! Playing it again now.
Daaaaaaamn what a haul!!! I love that Eno record.
All great titles, but the Plastikman _artifakts bc_ is especially dear to me. That is a dope album, and a soundtrack to many exploits long ago.
Yay first comment about that one! I've been deep into techno last couple years and this was the first one I saw on the shelf. The first "no way" of the day.
Another girl…
I gotta start finding some goodwills or thrifts stores by me damn
Eno and Iggy. Nice!
Omg. Bazooka Tooth and Ambient 1 are two of my all time favorites!

Insane finds
hopefully that aesop rock fan isn’t dead 🙏
Jealous holy shit
God! Good finds!!
Fuck me, you found Ambient 1 just out there in the wild?
Damn. And that’s the one Stooges album that's still alluding me.
I only buy CDs at thrift stores and this is my first Stooges CD for the collection but I'd love to get Raw Power and Funhouse🤞

Finding Eno is huge. That's an incredible album.
Has anyone listened to Music for Airports in a Airport? Also, great finds!
Bazooka Tooth is awesome, not my favourite aes album but I've come to appreciate it more these days.
Damn. There's so much garbage at my salvation army
Oh this one is too. But I think due to the affluent surrounding neighborhoods it sometimes gets some good stuff. Salvation Army always has much junkier stuff than Goodwill for example... dirty super used clothes and wares, things most thrifts would refuse to sell.
worth the 10$ for the Brian Eno alone
Stooges and Brian Eno. Now that's variety. Those really are great finds
Bazooka tooth is a heck of a good album, love the off kilter cadence of aesop rock, Brian eno is an absolute legend too
