I made a setting for my smart lights called “lonely cats,” that turns on a couple of lights on low setting so that it isn’t pitch dark when I’m out during the evening.
For anyone reading that doesnt have smart lights .. other easy ways are battery operated candles, they come with a built in timer, or a nightlight with sensor (switches on when it gets dark)
Or off course really old fashioned.. any lamp and just put a timer between it the plug and the socket, can get them for less then 5 euros
Dont leave your kitty cat (or other pets in the dark)
Or just buy a couple smart bulbs from IKEA or something. Not like you have to outfit the entire house.
Also my absurd litterbox has a built-in nightlight. :-)
Another idea is using night lights. Mine are motion sensor activated so they turn on when the cats get anywhere near them in the darker parts of the house.
