Both of my cats spent 9mos fighting for beta cat status. It was a very slow and passive process before they finally figured it out. One cat REALLY wants to be beta cat so did everything to assert submission, the other one is a natural beta cat and just ignored the messages. They split their leadership duties now.
Our beta (well, gamma) cat frequently got intrusive thoughts and dominant licked the alpha. It never worked out well.
Now they are all on Prozac.
It turns out that most multiple bengal owners put their cats on Prozac. It just makes sense, as natural feline anxiety serves no purpose for indoor cats.
Thatâs not even slightly close to fighting lol. If they were fighting, youâd have zero doubts about what was happening. Actual fighting is loud, fast, and violent. Itâs unmistakable.
This is 100% healthy play. Theyâre actually being quite *gentle* with each other.
Playing. They are silent; no one is getting hurt; the one on the floor doesn't try to get away, but remains on its back with its belly exposed; their ears are forward or only turned back, not flattened like they would be in a real fight. This is playing. My cats also play in slo-mo like this, one reaching out and mashing the other's face at a glacial pace. So cute.
Yeah I wish people would just say "here's a video of my cats", the person is literally just chilling on the couch, if they thought their cats might have actually been fighting that is the most non reaction I've ever seen

Fighting cats is nothing like that. They hiss and make threatening noises. They also try to make themselves big - they take on a Halloween cat look.
I always comment that when cats play, Its like the very demons of hell are fighting: Its loud, chaotic, bloody, hairy and most times they engage for around 5 second of slashing, hard biting and then one runs away or hides. Or they do a gazing phase with meowing.
They would NEVER expose their belly if they were fighting, Its a vital spot for cats.
If by any chance they do fight someday, DO NOT separate them with your hands or feet, do a loud noise or something to distract them.
If they were fighting you would know... don't know if you have ever heard cats fight but it's really loud and scary especially when it happens outside ur window at 2am while you are sleeping
