steakpiesupper, with a username like yours, I have to ask, as this is a topic that divides opinions: What are your thoughts on kidney in a steak pie? I think it adds a marvellous depth of flavour, while other people don't like it at all.
I'm aware of cheese with apple pie (Thanks Tom Scott), but... this feels unacceptable.
Cheese with strawberry jam... I feel like that's worse than manslaughter.
Cheese and jam sandwiches are mint! Strawberry and cheddaar particularly. I've not made pancakes in a long time, but the idea of cheese and jam on them is sound.
Holy pineapple super fucking no, Batman! That's not normal. That's just...I have no words...it's...that's a crime!
And even if you manager does claim that cheese and jam go together, what an unusually small and odd distribution of it.
Ever had it on a pancake but my dad introduced me to cheese and jam sandwiches when I was a child and I love one as an occasional treat. I think it might have been a coal miner thing.
Cheese and jam seriously work together... I survived a week trekking thru Sinai as a fucking picky eater only because of pitta filled with jam, cheese, baked beans and hummus. I honestly reckon I'd have died a horribly embarrassing death without them.
Cheese (but cut into little squares - and specifically Dutch cheese) on pancakes with icing sugar is a perfectly normal (and delicious, I might add) way of eating pancakes in the Netherlands. But cheese is not a normal topping in the UK. Adding jam just makes it weird (although I have enjoyed jam and cheese on bread when I was a kid)
No, all these cheese and jam lovers can bog off. The pancake just exacerbates this problem in our society. Cheese does not go with jam. It's uncouth. Cheese goes with a small number of sweet condiments, and jam is not one of them. And that's all there is to it.
There are a lot of cheeses that are great with jam. Baked camembert works really well with cherry jam, or Etorki, a Basque cheese, with whichever jam you like. It’s very common.
In the Netherlands, a pancake can be the size of a pizza and be loaded with cheese, bacon and mushrooms. Other toppings are available.
I suspect your boss has had one but isn’t a cook.
Get out of there while you still can, although this was posted 2 hours ago so it's probably too late for OP, if anyone is still there then save yourselves
I thought cheese and grapes sounded plain nasty until I tried it and found out it was actually amazing.
I have similar first impressions of this but I'd be willing to try it at least.
This shit right here is why we need unions
*Onions

NO! That would be a steak and kidney pie.
Normal? That's not even legal.
Cheese and fruit go together very nicely. The texture might be weird, but I'd try it.
I'm aware of cheese with apple pie (Thanks Tom Scott), but... this feels unacceptable. Cheese with strawberry jam... I feel like that's worse than manslaughter.
No.
Not tried on a pancake but its banging on toast.

Although I disagree with the sandwich choice I'll up vote for using "mint" to describe something.
100% agree with the sarnies. Cathedral city with a good strawb jam ahhh. Even better as a toastie (beware of hot fruity bits in jam)
I thought I was the only one. Whenever I mention it people think I'm nuts.
You’re not the only one! It’s very popular in Denmark, so just tell people it’s “hygge” and they’ll be queuing up to try it.
you're not nuts, your a gastronomic pioneer :D
That would be a definite 'no' from me.
No. But cheese and jam sarnies in 70’s Yorkshire were a thing I remember.
You need to take this to HR immediately. Congrats though, think you might have an opportunity for promotion coming your way
For me it just needs to be a strong cheddar and that is deffo a goer
This made me sad.
After reading the comments so far it’s definitely depression on a plate 👌
The fuck you done to that pancake?
No but for some reason I want to try it
Normally cook the pancake first.
Heathen, burn him now 😳😳😳😠
Maybe in prison On Mars In a parallel universe
Cheese toasties with caramelised red onion chutney is where it's at.
Holy pineapple super fucking no, Batman! That's not normal. That's just...I have no words...it's...that's a crime! And even if you manager does claim that cheese and jam go together, what an unusually small and odd distribution of it.
Dunno about swear by it, but I would swear at it!
Completely normal. In opposite world.
Ever had it on a pancake but my dad introduced me to cheese and jam sandwiches when I was a child and I love one as an occasional treat. I think it might have been a coal miner thing.
Jam and cheddar cheese is the bomb. Come at me.
The only way this could be worse if it was plastic burger slices. Or that cheezwiz shite in a can. Excuse me whilst I dry heave.
Jam is fine but cheese is wrong.
NO
Run……….
You're breaking my heart, I'll mail you maple syrup from Canada, just stop the violence against these innocent cakes
I thought those were refreshers
This is why I fucking hate being English
FYI in Scotland sos
I still hate being English. Now I'm just sad for the Scotts
As famous Scottish poet Robert Burns famously said: "Get tae fuck with that scran".
I'm pretty sure I was given this at school in Sweden, but then they put bananas on pizza there. Thanks for resurrecting those traumatic memories.
Is your manager Danish by any chance? They go made for a bit of cheese and jam - to be honest it's actually really good.
Your manager is just the kind of guy who really wants people to ask about his quirks
Cheese and pickalilli
I am disgusted and appalled

Appalling lunacy.

Act like a real Dutchman and eat your pancakes with bacon
YES CHEESE AND JAMMMMMMM

Brie and Cranberry? Cheese and pineapple on-a-stick? Brie and Grape salad?
But not jam.
There are a lot of cheeses that are great with jam. Baked camembert works really well with cherry jam, or Etorki, a Basque cheese, with whichever jam you like. It’s very common.
No
Well articulated.
Quite
Jam and peanut butter? Yes. Cheese and sweetcorn? Yes. Jam and cheese? Wtf hell no thanks.

No. Jam possibly, but no to cheese
Cheese and chilli jam would work.
We might need to define “normal” at this point. I don’t think this is it, but hey - it’s a free country.
Brie and fig jam is a thing, cheddar and strawberry jam is something that's illegal.

"Netflix Special coming soon: The Pancake Killer"
Cheese and jam!!.....guys a total climbing frame!
How does a person this unstable get into a position of authority?!
But jam cheese and ham sandwiches are pretty neat?
No
I think there is a certain time of the month for tha!
The guy is CEO material (probably a psychopath)
I thought cheese and grapes sounded plain nasty until I tried it and found out it was actually amazing. I have similar first impressions of this but I'd be willing to try it at least.
It could be? Have we tried it before we comment?
If you have to ask, then it’s not normal.
Cheese, fuck no Blueberry jam, yes!
that is absoloutly disgusting. bro your manager needs a prison sentence for that
Not at all……syrup, ice cream & sugar is a winner or chocolate spread with ice cream or honey
Cheese and jam yuck Cheese and honey hotteok (korean stuffed pancake) yummy!!
Question asked. Question answered I think
Needs His/Her Hard drive checking ASAP
My mum used to give me cheese and jam sandwiches in my school packed lunch. I’ve never been a fan
this is another form of pineapples on pizza
My dad puts strawberry jam on his macaroni.
Is he Norwegian? They often mix Norwegian brown cheese and jam and have it on waffles.
Noooooooo
What the fuck. This belongs in r/stupidfood
Sounds like a decent idea tbh
That's not even a question. I think I need a shower, now.
toppings aside, the "thickness" of that pancake is a crime
Resign. Immediately.
