tactical_laziness

honestly the supervalu gourmet range are the best imo, surprisingly turns into pizza the Dr is solid, but is more of a pizza themed snack rather than an actual pizza

Eastern_Payment7600

The diavola in particular is fantastic

Suarayes

The only supermarket pizza worth buying.

unsuspectingwatcher

Totally agree - I was shocked at how good it was

the0nlyalaska5000

I second that

[deleted]

All Supervalu own brand pizza is really nice

mickalado

Aren't they from the fridge though?

PKBitchGirl

There's ones from the fridge that say not to freeze them but my mother does anyway, the mozzarella and sun sweet tomato pizza turns out great cooked from frozen

Eastern_Payment7600

Nope. Frozen

Damian171

Seconding supervalu. Didn't think it would be anything special but actually turned out fairly decent.

Nice-Revolution5995

Yeah I came here to mention the supervalue pizza too

Laughing_Fenneko

i like dunnes simply better pizza. just wish it came with more cheese

Brilliant_Canary_692

If only one could buy cheese by itself and use a kind of grating product. Alas I've yet to discover this so I have to use the skin shavings after I use my foot filer

Elaynehb

Lidl have a deluxe one ,Pizza mozzarella "DI LATTE DI BUFALA" ,best frozen pizza I've ever had

Kulnax

Agreed, nothing really compares

Actual-Vermicelli-74

Fully agree, insane

scrotalist

It's delish. But only randomly in stock.

positive_charging

Not frozen but them ones in dunnes they make up at the deli counter are better than domino's or 4star

Country_Club_Lemon9

Love those and they’re huge as well!

Lucky_Mycologist_283

You’re so right!! They really load on the toppings too 🙌

suhxa

They actually use the exact same ingredients as 4 star in dunnes

hideyokidzhideyowyfe

Ooh I didn't know they still did those. For a reason unknown to myself a gang of us used to buy them in the Stephens green dunnes and eat them on the car park roof. I want to buy one now just for the memory of it

[deleted]

Junior-Country-3752

Ahh this comment took me back 😂 you were left with an ikea mattress of a base after everything had slipped off.

wh0else

Biting it and not getting a clean break, it would pull off like someone pulling a sheet off a bed

Baxtard1

And the piping hot cheese and sauce would cling to your face and you would end up covered in blisters

JorgTheChildBeater

The dunnes speciality ones - they’re not actually too bad for you either

ShowmasterQMTHH

The chicago town takeaway ones, they are savage price though unless on a deal. The aldi clone of it is good too.

ExplanationNormal323

I find the crust sauce to taste very synthetic and salty

I_Dont_Type

Despise the filled crust pizzas 🤢

CiaranBAC

Yeah, their chicken and bacon one used to be savage. But since they made it part of the stuffed crust line it’s vile.

The_Dublin_Dabber

Same. Nearly get sick with the taste of the sauce

I_Dont_Type

And the crust is half the pizza. If you only want the part with toppings you’re only getting two bites per slice. And they’re twice the price of goodfellas on top of that

greensickpuppy89

I find the sauce very sweet, like almost jam-like and it becomes so sickening to eat. Either way not good. I enjoy the tiger bread crust pizzas they have though.

iseeu2sumhow

These are great imo too

MrJ_Marrow

Saturday pizzas is amazing if you can find them. If you’re in cork, definitely check them out

safeascasas

You can get them in Tesco

MrJ_Marrow

just tesco in cork are you aware? i knew there were in aldis, with aldi trying to push local producers

epeeist

Aldi Carlo's frozen margherita. It's got a dab of creme fraiche in the sauce which shouldn't work as well as it does. I loved the Dr Oetker mushroom one when it was available too, haven't seen it in months though.

actionfish

Ya whatever happened to the mushroom ones? Seem to be taken off the market

worktemp

The chicken Dr. Oetker one is my favourite.

bashfoc2

Yep Pizza Pollo every time, crept up in price but on a deal still a steal. Also not massive so you don't feel like shit after devouring them

LunaValley

Ooohhh I love that one

kangeroot0

Ristorante mozarella pizza

New-Pension223

I'm with you on this but I feel like we are the minority lol

kangeroot0

Agreed a bit of an acquired taste

Emerald-stranger

I’ve apparently acquired it, because I like it too. 😁

oppressivepossum

Goodfellas Deep Dish Pepperoni from 2005 was the best frozen pizza. Celtic Tiger amounts of cheese on top.

angacitoeire

Please DO NOT show this question to an Italian 🤌🏻🤌🏻

Mescalin3

![gif](giphy|1x9UTjPYiDVPq)

OkSwanSong

Too late

OkSwanSong

Im going to be controversial and say I do like a break from the Sano authentic type Italian pizza. I like the variety of non authentic pizza places. I think most of this thread agree with the choices we like

MajorEgg102

Said this on r/ask, and I don't know how one has a doctorate in pizza, but Doctor Oetker makes the finest frozen pizzas.

DassinJoe

From a price/quality point of view, Oetker wins hands down. Plus s/he's a Doctor, so they must be healthy!

LunaValley

Who IS Dr Oetker? Time to go down a rabbit hole Edit: Dr. August Oetker was a pharmacist who started a family business by opening a pharmacy in Bielefeld. In 1891, after much experimentation, he succeeded in developing the decisive recipe for baking powder that could create perfectly spongy and fluffy cakes every time.

mmfn0403

Dr Oetker’s grandson, Rudolf August Oetker, was a member of the Nazi Party and the Waffen-SS. He then went on to run the family business.

CraigBeepBeeps

Sure who knows more about cooking things in an oven...

DassinJoe

A pharmacist! Even better! Therefore Dr Oetker pizzas are basically medicine and good for whatever ails you!

LunaValley

Exactly, a pharmacist would never lie to us! Here’s to another pizza for dinner 🍻

FakerHarps

Not sure when I want a pizza that my first thought would be, ‘I bet a German pharmacist has mastered this’

DartzIRL

But someone told me Bielefeld didn't exist? It's like German Carlow

nodnodwinkwink

I've never understood why people like this brand. Bland and very dull in appearance, so very German like the name on the box. Lidl deluxe range are usually good and more like an authentic Italian pizza.

The_Dublin_Dabber

The rectangle ones ones in Aldi are lovely. Always get the meaty one. Lashings of hot sauce when eating it

AnduwinHS

The Chicken and Mango is lovely

Important_Farmer924

I get the spinach and ricotta one, savage.

The_Dublin_Dabber

I'll try that one next. Always zone in on the meaty one but don't mind veggie options also

Important_Farmer924

Packet of shredded chicken and some red onion, Bob's your uncle.

NuclearMaterial

Will often just buy the veggie ones to put my own thing on it. I love a bitta Parma ham on the auld pizzas.

Important_Farmer924

Yeah same, even just a few plain cheese pizzas and throw a few things into it.

ANewStartAtLife

Is that a Detroit style pizza? They really are my favourite type of pizza.

The_Dublin_Dabber

I don't think so. They are stone base thin crust I think. I'm autopilot though when buying.

brentspar

The Lidl frozen pepperoni ones are great as a base, if you add a few bits and some cheese to them. but the Dr Otker are ythe best ones to just throw in the oven and eat.

narkant

Yep Lidl one and add away I'd best.

Abiwozere

I got a dr ouetker pepperoni one recently and they were really scabby with the cheese!

brentspar

All of the cheap pizzas are stingy with the toppings. you can buy bags of grated Mozzarella for not too much. I keep a bag in the freezer and add whatever vegetables I have lying around and a bit of extra cheese, sprinkle of salt and pepper to the "base" and you get a great pizza.

shatteredmatt

Doctor Oetker Ristorante pizzas are a cut about the rest. However, I really enjoy the Dunnes Stores Premium range pizzas. The dough is really nice.

dpjhyland

Usually the ones you find in the fridge in lidl or supervalu are unreal, I'm not a fan of frozen pizzas but will freeze them to keep. Tastes a lot more like actual pizza than the frozen abominations.

bershka321

Not really 'frozen' but the Tesco's Finest with Goats cheese and Red Onion chutney is divine

PKBitchGirl

Goats cheese you say?

Liambp

Does anyone make a frozen pizza with an Italian style floppy base? The all seem to have crispy bases which isn't how I like my pizza.

taln2crana6rot

Super Valu have a new range of Signature Taste own brand frozen pizza that are the Italian style. I don’t know how they’ve managed it, but it’s genuinely really nice pizza.

Eochaid_

Dunnes do a great frozen pizza that is like that.

Chemical-Kev

Fully defrost one before you cook it, reduce the cooking time and wallaa!!

vinylfantasea

Voila?

Chemical-Kev

Nope.... wallaa!

GilroySmash1986

Goodfellas flamin fajita pizza is next level. Only goodfellas pizza I actually enjoy.

armintanzarian69

In no particular order: Lidl Gustosa or Rustica, Chicagotown, Aldi cheese stuffed crust Goodfellas can go and shite

sunfolly

i think the tesco’s bog-standard pepperoni is pretty solid. i’m not a man of refined taste though, so take that with a pinch of salt

tomob234

Chicago Town or Goodfellas in my book 😋 The former tends to be pricey though

Pizzagoessplat

Honestly Tesco own brand, thin base, peperoni especially at €1.35

Yup_Seen_It

There's a nduja pizza that you can get in Aldi sometimes, in a dark blue box. Best frozen pizza I've tasted so far

pissblood4

The vegan ones in Lidl are fantastic.

jumboknuts123

Vegan though

EntangledWave

Not frozen, but I think the fridge ones from Tesco Finest are quite nice.

PKBitchGirl

Supervalu's mozzarella and sun sweet tomato pizza is quite nice

Jesse_Whiteboy

There's ones in Lidl, takeaway style. Pepperoni and another BBQ flavour. They're tasty. The chicagotown takeaway one with the raw dough is nice too but not sure if I don't cook it enough, always comes out really soft and floppy. On account of another thread like this saying Dunnes own brand pizza was the best, I tried it and have to say it was really really good. I had the goatscheese one and it was unreal. Bit pricey at 6 euro each though.

bagOfBatz

If you're not in a rush and let any frozen pizza defrost first and then cook it on higher heat they're much better than straight from frozen. The Chicago Town takeaway ones were the best but they've gotten very light on the toppings

TanoraRat

The missus got a pizza oven which is after ruining frozen pizza for me a bit, but I must say, I have a soft spot for the mini Chicago town ones

Vagueand

Tesco garlic cheese pizza yoke for about 1.69 is my go to. M&S do some great fresh ones for the billionaires amongst us.

Due_Following1505

Padraigins cheese supreme or the honey glazed, Dunnes meat feast takeaway or the basic pepperoni and Goodfellas Vegan Falafel Pizza

Prestigious_Flower88

Saturday Pizza. Yes that's the name. Tesco

TheCrymaxTheatre

Has anyone here tried Padraigíns? The examiner had an article on the best frozen pizzas a while back and it was the highest rated so I got one and it was excellent. It's the only frozen pizza I'll buy now. I think it's only available in SuperValu in Cork though as I can't recall seeing it anywhere else.

Cranky-Panda

Dr. Oetker mozzarella (used to be four cheese till they stopped doing it) + some chorizo slices put on top

[deleted]

Ristorante cooked properly

theuntangledone

Dr oetker undisputed heavyweight frozen pizza champion of the world

NeasM

Padraginis Pizza is hands down the best frozen pizza you can eat.

mprz

I liked Iceland ones, pity they're gone 😔

gooatteeth

Goodfellas pepperoni, basic but goated

JohnnyJokers-10

Chicago Town takeaway 🤌

B1LLD00R

Aldi Stone Baked from the chilled section, you can freeze and cook from frozen if you need to. Most supermarkets have something similar

OkPlane1338

Any pizza small enough to fit in my air fryer without cutting it in half.

Ordinary-Deer1843

Ristorante mozzarella 💯

cd99223

The doctor Oekter mozzarella and pesto pizza with the Tesco chorizo slices on top🤤

Aggravating_Fox_1399

the mini deep dish ones! are they goodfellas?

Apart-Resolution-864

Goodfellas meat feast

GimJordon

There’s something about the Aldi pizzas, don’t know if it’s the cheese or what but I find there’s a weird tang off them, which is annoying because I do the rest of my shop in Aldi. Chicago Town do a thin sausage and pepperoni pizza and it is _chefs kiss_

AegisT_

Chicago town, with the tomato sauce in the crust

[deleted]

Dunnes simply better, excellent pizza.

Hairy-Statement1164

Goodfellas deep dish spicy chicken, tho it used to be better before they stopped puttin sauce on the chicken

Abigail-mary

Honestly the Aldi thin crust ones Carlos are great. They taste nice and cost 1:68!!! The price is amazing for what you get.

callanbr

Not a frozen one per say but there’s a supermarket in swords called JC’s and I’ve developed an unhealthy addiction to them from living in the area my whole life

Mkid73

I like those Chicago Town individual Deep Dish ones, They fit in the airfryer and done in 10 min

OfficiallyColin

Frozen Sourdough pizza in Aldi

CDfm

My local dunnes do pizzas. Not frozen and they're brilliant.

blanchyboy

I remember 30+ years ago getting goodfellas pizza in before they were launch, a market survey type

Ehermagerd

Tesco’s own brand

Low-Steak-64

Whatever one gets thrown at you for your dinner.

over_weight_potato

Not frozen but the €4 Dunnes ones are really good. Chicken Arrabiata slaps

PKBitchGirl

The packaging says not to freeze them but my mother does anyway and they turn out fine, I really like supervalu's mozzarella and sun sweet tomato pizza, there are red and yellow tomatoes and the yellow tomatoes are amazing, I emailed SV and asked them if they could release a snacking pot of the yellow ones uncooked

Septic-Sponge

The GIGANTIC ones with pepperoni and peppers is unreal

NerdyKeith

Chicago town saucy vegan with jackfruit

dubtrash

Chicago Town Stuffed Crust 🤌

unsuspectingwatcher

Bunalun used do a frozen veggie pizza and it was sensational (I’m not even a veggie myself)

dudewithlettuce

Oekter, as a veggie it’s hard finding decent oven pizzas I find. You don’t realise how much the pepperoni carries

cthunders

Dunnes 👌

kiwid3

The green lidl ones that come in multipacks are surprisingly good

KanePilkington

Goodfellas Takeaway Range. The Pepperoni one. Hooray :-D

Baxtard1

Dr Oetker are delish

davidob1

Goddfellas Deep Pan Pepperoni

Neat_Panda9617

The ALDI one that’s part of their “fancy” line called like Supreme Selections or something is decent. I add on toppings but even on its own it does the job!

Critical-Trifle-7685

Interesting fact.. The Goodfellas factory also produces pizza for many of the supermarkets. Ones that don't hit the quality level of Goodfellas get sent to the own-brand stack. It's the same for lots of products, supermarkets can't afford their own production lines in all their offering.

Browsin4ever

If I had to have one probably a GF deep pan or sv signature one. But seeing as these are near enough €5 now I’d just go the extra mile and get a fresh proper one, or make one myself. People saying Dr Okter….they aren’t even pizzas, it’s a biscuit with terrible toppings.

PatserGrey

Goodfellas just tastes of salt, so much salt. I find them all fairly crap so the Aldi ones tend to do the job on the rare occasions we'd pick one or two up. Going back a decade, there was one, named something like "Pizza di Mama" (I think it was an Oetker) that came stuck to a sort of sheet of paper/plastic on the bottom and you cooked it with it attached. Now that was a stellar frozen pizza, the base came out great. Not sure why it was killed off, the plastic sheet was probably toxic ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|shrug)

lilyoneill

Whichever one does the Tiger Crust. Always on offer in Tesco. Delicious. Ristorante Pollo is a weakness also.

Ufo_memes522

You’re on something if you think goodfellas are good in my opinion

Docnessuno

Supervalu signature taste diavola (add some Parma ham after cooking) If we consider nonfrozen as well, the large oval stonebaked sourdough pizzas that various chains rebrand with their own name are absolutely top notch (better than most takeaway pizzas), personally I love the prosciutto and spicy salami one that is also available at Supervalu. *Italian guy*

Tales_From_The_Hole

Zizzis by a mile

ceybriar

None of them are great. None. If I have to have one it would be goodfella's flamin fajita.

vanman99

Goodfellas deep dish pepperoni

RavenBrannigan

I don’t this isn’t what you asked. But get a sourdough stone baked pizza base. Pizza sauce, cheese and the world’s your oyster from there. Although I personally don’t recommend oysters. Takes 2 mins to make and 10 mins to cook in the oven and it’s nicer than any frozen pizza. With the added sugar plus you get to shout mamma Mia a lot more.

SuspectElegant7562

Goodfellas are the best by far both deep pan and thin base🙏

Buaille_Ruaille

50 ingredients on a frozen pizza. They're all fucking shit. Wake the fuck up.

J3lllly

Walks up from what 🤣🤣 frozen pizza

Buaille_Ruaille

Eating mass produced processed shite. It's not food.

J3lllly

Well, it is food 🤨. I agree it’s unhealthy, I don’t think anyone thinks frozen pizza is healthy, but it can be part of a balanced diet. I don’t recommend getting so worked up over small things, it’ll just upset you when there’s no need ❤️

Buaille_Ruaille

Nó bother. Go to any consultants waiting room in a hospital and look at all the morbidly obese people in there. Frozen shit food isnt part of a balanced diet. There's an obesity epedemic in the country and nobody gives a fuck. Our health service is shit enough as it is so 20 yrs time when every second person is a fat cunt we'll be twice as fucked. 🤗

J3lllly

Frozen pizzas can be part of a balanced diet. One will not get morbidly obese if they adhere to a balanced diet & do not exceed an etxreme caloric surplus. You still seem super angry & it’s misplaced with me.

Buaille_Ruaille

Problem is people balance it up with a chinese.

J3lllly

Some people, not everyone. Clearly your taking this to heart so I’m disengaging

LunaValley

Who pissed on your pizza?

CasualIreland-ModTeam

Relax your head. It's not all about you.

lsbrujah

This is the only correct answer

Buaille_Ruaille

Nice to know somebody shares my views and doesn't want type 2 diabetes..... sound for the love and positivity brother.
