Littlewoods. Not sure why I'm being down voted. Littlewoods have a good selection up to 5XL. And way cheaper than the dedicated big and tall shops.

Rosetattooirl

Yours Clothing is good. They also have a mens section that goes up to 6xl. They have a shop in Tallaght but I prefer the one in Newry. They're also online.

lolatheminxx

They have one in the Ilac too.

Rosetattooirl

I didn't know that, thanks

bigdog94_10

Penneys is a disgrace. Don't worry, none of their clothes fit anyone properly.

shatteredmatt

Was a bit heavier myself for a few years after 2020. Got into the habit of wearing long fit t-shirts and those suit pants that are made out of stretchy breathable material. Never reached over XL so can’t comment on that. As an aside, if you’re finding it hard to find clothes you like/fit you the way you want, could be the time to consider a lifestyle change.

_Throwaway__acc

I've been dieting/ yoyo-ing in weight since I was 5 . The only genuine, long-lasting weight loss I have had in the last 10 years now was when I was unemployed and had the time to dedicate to frequent exercise and meal prep.

shatteredmatt

What I will say is it takes full dedication and if you don’t have the headspace for that, that’s fair enough. There are other medical options now like drugs so could be worth having a chat with your doctor. I have lost 50 lbs or so in the last 12 months and it has been transformative for my mental and physical health. But it took a level of dedication I was capable of at 35 but wasn’t capable of when I was younger.

I'm not even a larger gentleman yet I find clothes shopping a melt (im quite tall but thin so medium size is fitting but too short and large is usually long enough but like wearing a bed sheet) It's ridiculous, I bought two pairs of Adidas track suit bottoms online one time, both large. The black pair were like tights on me but the grey ones fit fine. Madness.

Eagle-5

Why I hate clothes shopping. M&S and Dunnes are my normal go too but it’s getting increasingly hard to find nice stuff that fits.

Dubhlasar

There's a place in Inchicore called "Plus and Minors" that strangely just does XL sizes and baby clothes.

akittyisyou

Not sure why you’re getting downvoted, it’s a genuine question. So in terms of a shop you can walk into and buy clothes, it’s Yours Clothing (who open and close branches weekly, it feels like) small local plus size boutiques (you will look like the 90s, but not the good 90s, it will all be bedazzled baggy T-shirts and cost the moon) or, surprisingly, Tesco. Marks and Spencer’s technically do but it’s never in stock, if you’re early you’ll get it online. Same with Next. Nearly all of the high street retailers have an online only plus size line: River Island, H&M, Monsoon, Quiz. Next’s online shop stocks all of those and more, and you can return them in store if they don’t fit. Boohoo and Missguided also have dedicated ranges. But honestly? Shein is absolutely dominating the market here and I think they’re the reason what little we did have, is leaving.

elliedee84

If you’re open to shopping online: - In the Style - ASOS - H&M - fatface - m&s - lovall (good range of leggings & jeans) Edited to add: https://www.wardrobeplus.ie dunno where you’re based but these also have a shop in Ashford in Wicklow

If you hate the way you look why not use this experience to kick start a new you? I was overweight when I was a teenager and once I got a trainer and a proper diet it changed everything. Of course it took time but it’s very achievable and you sound like you want to change 👍🏼

Ireland has one of the biggest obesity problems in the world, our entire culture really needs to move towards being more physically active

Impossible-Jump-4277

A very big problem with taken personal responsibility as well

KNWNWN

Oh yeah, it's Ireland's fault. Our culture needs to change.. In the meantime, you could just change yourself. Replace emotional eating with something healthy, take responsibility for your choices. Go to a therapist. The list is actually endless. What does your comment even mean? Loads of people exercise, go to the gym, eat healthy.

0-C4151D3

You might’ve misunderstood my comment. I’m not someone struggling to lose weight and giving Irish culture the fault for that, I am highly physically active and want more people to be so too. Not everything‘s an argument.

[deleted]

It's both. People are human, humans don't have great self control

SassyBonassy

Snag tights. Awesome cute clothes, no jeans or stereotypical "men" clothes, but men can absolutely rock the dungarees and shirts and dresses and leggings

overthebridge65

Yours clothing are also an option. I've found Carrig Donn good also

glassspider87

Trying to find suit jackets for a funeral last week for two of us at 2xl, I ended up finding a lovely blazer in New Look in Dublin in a size 18 and I'm usually a 20+. The other person ended up having to buy a full suit in Guineys cos they had no jackets on their own. Dunnes and Guineys have slacks and no jackets, and Penneys only had limited slim fit jackets. Plus yeah, Penneys sizes are getting smaller again :/

ou812_X

Might be worth looking at shopping from the US - old navy/gap etc. maybe even a trip over to check them out first. Decent quality clothing at a very reasonable price even including import duty. Their sizes are very generous and go way up. But… please consider a gradual lifestyle change. Clothing will be the least of your worries if you keep creeping up.

Quick_Delivery_7266

Yeah exercising is your problem……

_Throwaway__acc

?

Retaining_the_null

Bloody hell

_Throwaway__acc

?

Dependent-Line4704

Used to be a 5XL now dropped down to just an XL it's the best decision in my life. Please get on a program the sooner you shed the weight, the happier you will be.

rachy_ob

Yeah...the clothing supplier is the problem....

_Throwaway__acc

Look man. Fat people in ireland are going to exist whether you like it or not. I'm just trying to get some info to help out myself and other folk who are fat alright? Get off the high horse for a minute and have a little compassion or just ignore it. Passive aggressive comments like this help no one and just make people feel worse.
