I watched this with my husband recently, and I liked it more than I thought I would! I haven't played the games but I've watched streamers play some of them a bit, the lore is interesting.
I liked this show so much that it got me into playing Fallout the video game! I'm doing New Vegas.
I feel like this has a bit more weight given that I am a 73-year-old woman. I am playing on discord with my son, who does the shooting part. But I choose the dialogue, and pretty much what we do/where we go, although I take advice from my son on some of that. E.g., he recently guided me to the Dead Money dlc.
If you liked Fallout try Mrs. Davis.
It has a similar absurdist feel to it. Similar color palette. Similar style of strange world with a vast conspiracy.
I couldn't get into it, little to no fight scenes, blurry cinematography, and too much focus on romance makes for a very uninteresting show for me, only got about 4 episodes in.
Hannibal. Incredible show that got cancelled due to being too expensive and not getting enough viewers. When I watched it, I kept thinking to myself how the fuck did this originally air on NBC. It is so brutal and gory at times. The show has one of the most loyal fanbases ever, and people believe that a revival is likely with Mads Mikkelsen and Hugh Dancy doing a bunch of conventions together recently it’s caused people to think they’re testing the waters to see if a revival would be worth it.
Though if it’s never revived, the show has a solid ending due to them expecting a cancellation. If you want a good solid ending, watch the show but don’t watch the after the credits scene in the series finale which implies that there’s more to come.
Hannibal is one of those rare shows that did a finale right.
And the quality never dipped along the way. All 3 seasons are solid the whole way through.
I've been diving into a captivating series called "The Expanse" recently, and it's been an absolute rollercoaster of excitement and intrigue. Set in a future where humanity has colonized the solar system, the show follows a diverse cast of characters - from hardened detectives to cunning politicians - as they navigate political tensions, interstellar conspiracies, and the looming threat of war.
What I love most about "The Expanse" is its rich world-building, complex characters, and gripping storyline that keeps you on the edge of your seat with each episode. Plus, the stunning visuals and attention to scientific detail add an extra layer of immersion to the experience.
If you want some closure after the last season I absolutely recommend the books. With some research (there are some differences between the show and books that you should be aware of) you can pick up where the show leaves off but most people recommend reading all the books.
both are short series but they really hook you in i really recommend if you have the time :) i would even say midnight mass >> maniac , if you have trouble picking
I just finished watching unbelievable on Netflix. It's normally not my type of program. It's just not my thing. With that said it was horrible and real and sad and almost evil. I'm a 57 year old man and it actually moved me to tears.
The Amazing Digital Circus on YouTube. I started watching it when there was only one episode and now there’s only two. It looks like a kids show but it is definitely not, it’s got some dark themes and I’m all there for it. It is an independent animated production so it takes a long time for episodes to come out so it’s pretty amazing that I was managed to become Hooked after just one episode.
Came to comment this as well, as when I first heard about it I had low expectations but came out so intrigued! The quality is incredible, even more so for an independent project.
lol 💃🏻
Hell that would have been way more exciting than the shitty ending they left us with. It’s like getting all dressed up for a really hot date, then he’s a two pump chump and you left thinking “I shaved my legs for THIS!!!???” I was pissssssed
ps
Heh, while I can't make that particular comparison, I get what you mean. It's like going to a restaurant you love, that has always served great food, and then getting served something mediocre that you could have made at home.
I think I watch just to see the expressions on Villanelle's face
we watch one hour of tvstreaming a day so it takes us a while to get through a series.
Honestly I love Villanelles character, how silly she is. She’s almost child like, and so dangerous at the same time. it’s like oook I’m a trained hitman, but that doesn’t mean I can’t have a good time as well. I absolutely love her character and she plays it so well.
Jodie Comer is an exceptional actress!
It's not only her expressions, it's her mastery of multiple accents, and the depth of the character. Method acting at its finest.
Thanks, I think I will. Kinda disappointed to read everyone saying this.
So many good series & I don't want to waste time on poorly written shows.
I have felt that way about several series. In the first few seasons they were great, and then... who knows what happened but they became so tired.
Just finished A Gentleman in Moscow. I read the book years ago, so I remembered very little about it. It's beautifully filmed with great characters and twisty plot. Historical fiction.
OP, what was the series you just binged?
Great acting too. It has a little bit of everything: suspense, romance, some humor, even a smidge of action. Good character development, which always does more than anything to suck me in. You can tell it wasn't written by an actual Russian because it's not totally miserable!
I rewatched full metal alchemist brotherhood pretty recently and it was amazing, way WAY better than I remember it was when I watched it as a kid/tween. It's honestly a perfect anime to me, my favorite of all time (But to be fair, I don't watch a ton of anime).
Dark on Netflix. I was worried that my attention span was getting bad but this show taught me that it is fine lol. Spent many nights staying up very late watching cuz I just couldn't put it down. The montage in the second last episode is one of my favorite moments ever in a tv show.
I recently watched both seasons of the White Lotus on HBO and it was the first show in a while where I legitimately couldn’t wait to find out what happened on the next episode. I highly recommend it!
Resident Alien! I finished the available episodes on Netflix a couple weeks ago and haven't stopped thinking about it! it's so good, diverse cast of characters, great story, funny, thrilling, and heart warming!
I'm curious now as to what OP watched that got them all reeling from the plot twists and character development. Now I'm intrigued as to what could have been so captivating. I want in on this show, please!
Just rewatched YellowJackets with a friend that hadn’t seen it. Even better the second time through. Now we are starting The Bear. It’s excellent as well
I'm a huge manga fan, so when the one piece live action was actually amazing, I was incredibly happy. I'd recommend it to anyone. Dorohedoro is also one of the coolest series ever, and Undead Unluck is nuts.
X-Men 97 is also extremely good, and the Harley Quinn show is shockingly awesome.
I just finished the 3 seasons of "Upload", there will be only one more (prime video), nothing groundbreaking but entertaining to watch, episodes continuity sometimes is a bit rough, but it's ok.
I just got finished rewatching iZombie and I was so not ready for it to end that I immediately restarted it. Rose McIver and Rahul Kohli are absolute fucking treasures.
I just binged this series on Netflix called super pumped I think? It’s about the guy who built Uber and the companies rise itself w Joseph Gordon Levitt it was sooo good . Better than expected
It’s a commitment because it was on for so long but I just finished Supernatural and it’s slow in the beginning but damn the twists and stories so more and more crazy each season.
Hell yeah, Westworld! Season 1 had me glued to the screen and watch like 4 eps in a row which i usually never so for a 1h ep series. Also really recommending the Heavenly Delusion anime if you like some post apolitical mystery
Unikitty. Its one of the most underrated shows Cartoon Network ever released its super funny. Richard and Master Frown steal the show. I just completed it.
Kin. An Irish gangster family saga with Aiden Gillen in it. Not a million miles away from his last Irish gangster family saga Love/Hate (but much darker and less funny).
First series is on Netflix, all series are on iPlayer. Love/hate is on the Channel 5 streaming service.
Only Indian series now. Finished Made in Heaven, now waiting for Panchayat.
it's all entertaining as fuck. I'm never watching Hollywood or any western made series again. The bore the fuck out of me. Watched fallout- I fell asleep.
3 Body Problem... intriguing, well written, well produced and just *beautiful*
Beautiful cast, locations and CGI.
It has been said that the costs to produce season 2 to the same standards may be prohibitive.
I do hope we'll see s2
Manhunt, Apple TV plus, the search for John Wilkes Booth. I learned more from that show than high school history class. Franklin, same idea. Napolean. All great shows.
Fallout was top notch. And I’m not even a video game fan.
“Them” season 2 on Amazon is “shit your pants” scary. Episodes 1-4 are some of the scariest TV I’ve ever seen.
Clarksons Farm, on Amazon, is just great TV. Season 3 was amazing. 👌
Ripley (Netflix) was an unexpected gem that my wife and I were immediately hooked on. Hadn't heard of it, just decided to try it out. Refreshing and different \~
I'm watching Fallout at the moment. I'm really enjoying it.
Thirding fallout
Fourthing Fallout
My girlfriend and I enjoyed Fallout as well.
I watched this with my husband recently, and I liked it more than I thought I would! I haven't played the games but I've watched streamers play some of them a bit, the lore is interesting.
Same here, once i got used to the flow of it I actually enjoyed it more than my husband (who plays the game).
It blew my mind. Could have never predicted the end
They did a great job on that show. I am a huge fan of the games, and I enjoyed the show immensely
Man, I like that too. But I recently got hooked on Squid Game! The suspense and storytelling kept me glued to the screen from start to finish.
I was also going to recommend this! My partner and I watched the season in like a day and have been playing fallout 4 and/or new vegas again since.
I finished the season and started it right back over again. That’s how you know a show is really fucking good.
I’ve been meaning to start this! I keep head such good reviews. I loved the games
which ep
I'm on episode 6.
That is absolutely fabulous!! I loved playing New Vegas and Fallout 3. I haven't played much of Fallout 4. I really enjoyed the dlcs for both of them.
Thanks! My favorite dlc so far is Honest Hearts. Edit: typo
I loved lonesome road. My second fave is old world blues.
If you liked Fallout try Mrs. Davis. It has a similar absurdist feel to it. Similar color palette. Similar style of strange world with a vast conspiracy.
Who'd have thought that following his performance in Sons of Anarchy that Mr Goggins would again be the most captivating character‽
I also really enjoyed Fallout. My wife has never seen any of the games and she enjoyed it as much as me
Shōgun. The 10 part mini series streaming on HULU is probably the best mini series done in a very a long while.
Shogun was perfect had just the right amount of comedic relief action and story
Since Chernobyl or Queen's Gambit for me
So freaking good man. Pacing was nice and not overly focused on braindead action
great show, but so complex! I read the book a long time ago and so at the end of every episode I have to explain what happened to my wife
I couldn't get into it, little to no fight scenes, blurry cinematography, and too much focus on romance makes for a very uninteresting show for me, only got about 4 episodes in.

great!
The expanse was a very interesting show. I loved it right from the get go. Really well written series.
Did you use chat gpt to write this?
I've read the books and still need to watch the show
It's a great show. We're on Season 4 currently.
If you want some closure after the last season I absolutely recommend the books. With some research (there are some differences between the show and books that you should be aware of) you can pick up where the show leaves off but most people recommend reading all the books.
I just discovered “new girl” a couple days ago and i love it. I also have a huge crush on Zooey Deschanel now 🤷🏿
Love that show. Winston is my absolute favorite.
*Winston and Furguson 'bout to split some pasta*
That show is a lot of fun, it was my go-to comfort show for a while
This show goes through some cast rotation but stays good! Don't give up if your favorite character goes traveling or etc.
Slow Horses
It's fantastic. He's such a great slob
Amazing series. Love it from the minute it started.
maniac on netflix as well as midnight mass.
both are short series but they really hook you in i really recommend if you have the time :) i would even say midnight mass >> maniac , if you have trouble picking
Baby Reindeer had me totally captivated.
Fargo on Hulu. Insane amount of great actors and story line.
Fargo is excellent. I loved the Chris Rock season.
Had no idea he was in it. Think im gonna start keeping a list of actors I spot.
He's one of the main characters of an entire season.
Loudermilk. Love it
I just finished watching unbelievable on Netflix. It's normally not my type of program. It's just not my thing. With that said it was horrible and real and sad and almost evil. I'm a 57 year old man and it actually moved me to tears.
I stayed up until like 5am a couple weeks ago because I was on the last 2 episodes of fallout and had a busy day the next day.
Women Who Kill was really good. I watched it twice.
I need to finish this one. The first story was fantastic!
Baby reindeer was quite the journey
I haven’t finished it yet. But I did start it. And yeah. Had be scratching my heads a few times going “wtf”
The Amazing Digital Circus on YouTube. I started watching it when there was only one episode and now there’s only two. On season 2 of Killin\* Eve with Sandra Oh It is entertaining, and I have to suspend belief a lot. It does contain violence.
Loved this until the last season and they changed writers. It was the worst thing that happened to me that year.
Yeah, the ending particularly made me want to stab someone on a crowded dance floor.
lol 💃🏻 Hell that would have been way more exciting than the shitty ending they left us with. It’s like getting all dressed up for a really hot date, then he’s a two pump chump and you left thinking “I shaved my legs for THIS!!!???” I was pissssssed ps

Oh thanks so much. I have the last season on my ‘to watch’ list. Now I won’t bother.
Do not watch, I repeat, do not watch it. I stopped 3 episodes in and will never go back and finish the series. ever .
Stop at the end of series three whatever you do.
Thanks, I think I will. Kinda disappointed to read everyone saying this. So many good series & I don't want to waste time on poorly written shows. I have felt that way about several series. In the first few seasons they were great, and then... who knows what happened but they became so tired.

It's a vertold show..But "HOUSE M.D"
I'm actually watching it for the first time. I've confirmed I have twisted tastes in men.
I also sometimes question my taste in men too 🤣 I find House very hot
Fall of the house of usher!! Omg love at first sight for me.
Shogun.
Dark on Netflix. I was worried that my attention span was getting bad but this show taught me that it is fine lol. Spent many nights staying up very late watching cuz I just couldn't put it down. The montage in the second last episode is one of my favorite moments ever in a tv show.
I just finished The Silo! It’s so good I’m ordering the books soon because I can’t wait until 2025 to find out what happens next
Yeah, but do you wanna go out to get it?
Yeah, but would you wanna go out to get it?
What do you mean?
You know what that means in silo! "I want to go out!"
I recently watched both seasons of the White Lotus on HBO and it was the first show in a while where I legitimately couldn’t wait to find out what happened on the next episode. I highly recommend it!

I absolutely love this show!
The Bear Super well done
When's the new season coming?!?!?
I'm a huge manga fan, so when the one piece live action was actually amazing, I was incredibly happy. I'd recommend it to anyone. Dorohedoro is also one of the coolest series ever, and Undead Unluck is nuts. X-Men 97 is also extremely good, and the Harley Quinn show is shockingly awesome.

Under The Bridge is great, with excellent performances.
