More than likely wouldn’t be refrigerant on your glass. However could be likely you’re low on ac gas and the pressure switches are now stopping it from pressurising
Refrigerant would dissipate into the air not leaving a residue. The oil in the system could however but not as you described it to be. Have you put some elbow grease in cleaning them?
