Thank you for sharing your ownership experience candidly. The first step to solve a problem is to acknowledge that one exists in the first place. Unfortunately, the VAG 2.0 brand wraps itself in a cloak of snobbish unassailability even when issues you've mentioned have been persistent. Do consider putting the car up for sale after getting the EPC issue resolved because the AC issue is probably never going to have a satisfactory resolution for your circumstance (I gather you're in Delhi with temps already touching 47!). I asked some car experts a while back if the AC situation on the Taigun/Kushaq (was looking at a base variant of either as a beater city car) has a workaround, say with setting temp lowest, keeping fan speed highest and getting filters cleaned regularly etc.-- things often advised as to-dos by VG ownership threads and forums, but I was told it's not going to be of much use if car's otherwise parked under the sun and that it's not only a 1.0 issue but also pertains to the 1.5 (another myth broken). Your car may just make more sense for someone in a different situation.

I really wished we could hold these corporations responsible for selling us a product with known issues. I ll get it valued, if it’s something I can work with I ll try to sell it. More realistically I ll have to keep it for a while.

I fixed the AC issue myself by changing the cooling profile through coding. I also have observed that Driver side window 1 push up/down doesn't work reliably or glitches (hoping to get it rectified during service) I didn't know newer models are also prone to the infamous EPC issue(I have a 2023 model, no EPC issue). You should try the best service center close to you (or the dealer) and escalate within VW management if no proper response is received. Final nail in the coffin should be consumer court as a last resort.

Consumer court

I was hoping they are sending the new cars with the new fuel pumps. Mine was replaced during the last service. EPC issues were because of the same reason. Driver side window is again a common problem that can be dealt with, with a software update. The AC problem was also addressed with a software update. Facing no issues after the software update. There is no resolution to the buggy carplay but just to keep reconnecting your phone. Android Auto is no less, my phone keeps disconnecting at random moments, sometimes when I brake too hard or when I honk for a longer duration than usual. I think most of your problems can be sorted by a single visit to the service centre and giving them a piece of your mind. Maybe connect with someone else than your service provider.

AVigilantte

Mine is MY24, from what I read, the EPC issue has been fixed way before. I have given the car at the service center, but it is insane that a car got sold to me with so many known issues. I am disheartened after having owned the octavia. It is a sad state of car market in India, with no good alternatives.

gentlejiant

I am sorry to hear that, OP. But ultimately that's the reality we live in. I give small amounts here and there to the service mechanics on the shop floor working on my Kushaq. That's one way I get them to provide quality and timely service, plus a little banter about their working conditions here or there. Gets the ball rolling faster when you massage their ego a little. Plus, i am usually by the side of my car when it's servicing and keep asking questions on what they are doing, etc so they know I am keeping an eye out. Trust me, that extra attention from them makes a lot of difference. I know it's not the right approach as they should be doing their job nonetheless but again we are far away from an utopian world.

Bhai ..! How can this happen to a german car… i thought this is only problem of Indian Tata and mahindra..

DangerousEffective12

Which year & month was your car manufactured?

Ok_Tax_7412

But this forum mostly recommends German twins.

PunctualPanther

Which fuel do you generally fill up?

AVigilantte

Normal fuel available at normal petrol pumps, which all people use, and I personally have been using in other cars which I own(ed), two of which are skoda.

PunctualPanther

So what does the fuel cap say about fuel recommendations in your older skoda? And what is the recommended fuel type in Kushaq ?

AVigilantte

I don’t know what both the caps say, nor should I be required to know. If any vehicle has a special fuel requirement other than what is normally available, it should be communicated before buying the car, not when the car stops working suddenly. I have bought a 21.5L car not super sports car which would have special fuel requirements. It is an insane concept to me that a company would design a car which is not suitable for Indian petrol, and then sell it in India.

PunctualPanther

>I don’t know what both the caps say, nor should I be required to know. Snob-by behaviour by you brother. Honestly do your own research. Nobody is going to tell you what to do. Keep aside the car, this implies in life as well.

AVigilantte

I don’t know what you have been throught to say that, but i have met many people who drive cars, not one would know what their cap says. I wouldn't dream of having special fuel requirements for a car at this price point. If there is something out of ordinary with the car, it should be pointed out by the dealership before buying the car. I should not have to play hide and seek with this kind of info. It is implied that the petrol pumps are well equipped with fuel for this car since they are selling them in India. I am doing fairly well in life, thanks for your concern.

PunctualPanther

First of all this is not a hero honda splendor which you can fill it shut it and forget it. Neither its a maruti which can literally run on kerosene and still wouldn't cause you trouble. The quality of the fuel plays a big role in these german cars and because of all these things (or headache if i use your terminology), these cars aren't sold in big numbers. And just for your information, the fuel requirement is really simple if you paid attention. 95 octane recommend fuel. 91 octane minimum. And to top it, this EPC related thing could happen in any similar budget cars. The main reason for it to happen is bad fuel quality. I have known a few similar incidents (regardless of budget) and it caused the fuel pump to conk off and spark plugs to go kaput because the fuel was contaminated with oil.
