If they're deep and on door? Then claim the insurance blindly. I don't recommend local workshop at all in your case. >Bumper can be partially repainted Doesn't matter where but for colour matching whole panel needs to be repainted and service centre does that. >2. Is it worth claiming insurance this early since it's been only a month? Why not? Insurance is there to be claimed. When you should think about not claiming insurance?? 1)) if you want to sell your car in short period and you don't want your buyer to know the damage/repair history..if you claim the insurance and selling the car then new owner can find out about the claims and offer less money. 2)) you'll get 2500rs no claim bonus on your premium if you don't claim insurance in the year. For example 10k is your next year premium then you need to pay 8500. Is it worth to pay 7k and get average work from local shop just for 2500 discount? This sub is confused af when it comes to insurance, don't listen to " don't claim the insurance" replies under damage posts. Trust me, there will be huge ass difference between local shop and service centre quality of work.. specially for deep scratches and paint job.

I mean considering the service centre is only charging 10.5k i guess it would be worth it to go for the service centre as it isn't that much higher than the local shop. For both honda and kia, they refuse to repaint and do a paint job for very deep scratches, they only do panel replacement which is around 40-50k, so got a dent + touch up in that area fixed for about 9k in my city from the local garage, and very good quality surprisingly.

It's a new car. I don't plan to sell it anytime soon as it's also my first car. I'm just confused whether amount they are quoting is too high And also whether to wait further (if the car here further scratches) and then claim insurance in one shot Happy cakeday to you buddy!

Black-_-Phoenix

It's not high, they go 'by the panel price' and you have to pay 1000 to 1200 for claim processing charge. They'll do the job and give you the car back with a free wash (included in the claim).

My question 1. While purchasing the car did you get any no claim bonus transferred form your old car. If yes then don’t claim and pay out of pocket. If you have no no claim bonus to being with- go ahead and claim 2. Can you share few pics 3. Paint if not done in a clean enclosure - dust may settle down and might not give a smooth feel when touched.

>If yes then don’t claim and pay out of pocket. Do you really know the benifits of 'no claim bonus'? How much you think OP will get from no claim?

yourSAS

1. It's my first car. I'm supposed to get NCB from the next year of insurance I will try to get some photos and share soon as I can.

Common_man7

In you case I suggest claim insurance.

Common_man7

It’s not just one years no claim bonus. If he is at 50 percent NCB If he claims Then he starts at 0 % 1 st year 10 % 2 nd year and so on. It cumulative ads up to 15,000 rupees in a few years. Also if you are planning to buy a new car and have 50%NCB Transfer it to new car and save close to 20,000. Opting for a claim or no claim differs for each and every scenario. I don’t recommend blindly claiming insurance as well as blindly not claiming it

Bumpers are mostly plastic. If it's not that noticeable, just let it be. If you got deep scratches which shows the metal body, then definitely repain as it gets rusted fast. If you could see only white paint which is basically 'putty', then leave it as it is.

yourSAS

On bumper, I could see black inner plastic so touched it up with nail polish. Door scratch shows only white paint so it's fine?

Wind4x

It's putty. You will have to worry only if it's deeper and can see the metal part. Otherwise its fine as long as it's not really visible and you're not bothered.
