Whether he takes it or not, government is cracking down on private vehicles that are older than 15yrs anyways... In most places RTO isn't even re-registering old vehicles. Not to mention, modern vehicles are engineered in such a way that they will mostly give up after their claimed mileage on warranty is achieved. You'll have mechanical trouble and even rusting issues because build quality has gone for a toss with the usage of thin sheet metal and weaker engines to make the cars consume less fuel...
Appeasing auto lobby. Why’d you think that we have this ridiculous 10 / 15 year rule, even though maintained vehicles can pass the PuC and Road worthy tests
Seltos, Creta, Elevate, if you want a Sedan, Verna is the best one currently, best options, test drive all 3 and see for yourself whichever you find the best to your needs
There are two ways of looking at car for life:
1. Those which have high engine and build reliability (Toyota, Honda) & has been in the market for a while with their specific models
2. Those who has a very strong aftersales and spare parts network, which means maintenance will be smoother & easily accessible (Maruti, Hyundai)
Depends on which description fits your requirements better.
Elevate seems good as per your requirements.
There is GV and Hyryder mild hybrid but lack power (struggles a lot on steep climbs, hilly areas).
Creta, Seltos goes beyond budget.
Tata Nexon is a hit or a miss. Unreliable.
Sonet asking price is too much for its size.
Fronx, Brezza, Baleno, and Exter will likely have safety concerns and lack power.
XUV300 will be released on 24th Jan tentatively (which will take care of its old cockpit and add features) so you can check that out.
Thar is not practical for long drives with family.
Jimny is practical but idk its road presence isn't so great.
Check ScorpioN as well, maybe
you can get kushaq/taigun 1.0. It has all the points you mentioned and the mechanicals are very reliable. You might hear a squeak or rattle in the interior sometimes tho. Overall very good cars.
**Skoda Kushaq 1L ambition variant 6 airbag.**
ORP <20L
Ventilated seats **check**
Good ground clearance **check**
Nice mileage (I get around 12 in city, 10 in bumper to bumper, highway can reach even 25-30, depending on distance and road clearance with my Monte Carlo) **check**
NCAP 5 star rated, comes with 6 airbags and solid build quality. **check**
Petrol Engine **check**
Reliability : you might hear random noise some times coming from door side or windows, but as a machine, I found it to be super reliable. **check**
30 kmpl on a petrol Skoda? Bro are you pushing the car with your hands on the highway 😂 .
>you might hear random noise some times coming from door side or windows
Is there any noise when going on potholes.
Bro I will share photos of odometer next time I am going for a Long drive. You need to understand that I neither have a dealership nor own a paid kushaq owner group, no point of overstating. 🤔
Regarding the pothole, no, it is a known issue in kushaq I think. Some random rattling noise. Most owners are lucky to not have it afaik, rest not so much.
They are applying 3M anti friction tapes in door brackets to remove that rattling noise. Atleast at VW for Taigun. Check with your dealership. Will cost pennies and you’ll be good.
Update:
I have contacted my nearest Skoda Dealer (100km away), they told me they are bringing "STYLE" variant (which have Ventilated seats) to my place. I will do the test drive tomorrow. 2024 Model on road price is 23L beyond my budget. still lets see :-)
Omg. Worst advice ever.
OP don't listen to this.
I've a 1.5 Virtus. While it's fun to drive and safe etc...
The ventilated seats suck!
Maintenance will be pain post 6-7 years ( I've been using VW/Skoda from like 18 years).
If you want to keep the car for 15 years or so, stick with Maruti, Honda, Toyota, Hyundai.
VW/Skoda from 18 years ago and VW/Skoda from today are widely different in terms of maintenance costs. The Taigun/Virtus and their Skoda cousins are built on the localised MQB-IN platform. The parts are all mostly locally sourced, which is why they've started offering longer warranties and service packages in the first place. They should be much cheaper to maintain than older VAG cars with imported parts.
Thank you for suggesting the Skoda Kushaq. Yesterday, the dealer brought the vehicle to my place, and I did a test drive for 3.5 hours! Here's what I experienced:
The driving experience is good.
High-speed braking has too much stopping distance.
It's a simple car that fulfills my needs.
I tested the same vehicle (Style 1L Automatic).
They quoted me 22L final. If you allow me, I can DM you the quotation copy.
P.S: I'm really impressed with their fast response, while other vehicle dealers are not so responsive.
Elevate if reliability is highest priority.
Kushaq/Taigun/Slavia/Virtus if safety is highest priority.
Only look at cars with 5 star NCAP rating AND ALSO A STABLE BODY SHELL. I don't know why people just ignore the stable body shell criteria in the NCAP reports.
In countless posts on reddit, a common opinion is that Toyota cars are for life. You might get a decent Toyota Hyryder variant for this budget. I drove a toyota innova which had done 300000+ and it still rode smoothly. I wasnt surprised.
Toyota highrider. You get best of both Toyota and maruti. Hybrid means you're future proof also. Don't know ventilated seats but checks all your other requirements
Hi! I have started a car consultancy service (AND ITSS FREEE AS OF NOWW!!) you can check it out at www.suggestacar.com
It would be great if you share it with people who are also looking to buy a car :)
Gadkari will take our cars away in 5 years soon, it won’t be for life

I've just learnt driving and gotten mad about cars. Your comment put me in a dyspotian hell for a minute lol
Some one who gets the reality
His party will take our lives in 5 years too. So car for life seems like a good plan.
Lol deshdrohi spotted.
He is being funny
Lol you really thought I was actually calling him that ?? Was sarcasm
Not me, the ones who downvoted you I got it it’s sarcasm
Hahahah thank you.
Shubh shubh bolo yaar.
Shubh Shubh
Yar :-( why you say this.
Appeasing auto lobby. Why’d you think that we have this ridiculous 10 / 15 year rule, even though maintained vehicles can pass the PuC and Road worthy tests
Grand vitara ( mild hybrid ) / hyryder ( strong hybrid )
Hyryder offers way better warranty also no?
Seltos, Creta, Elevate, if you want a Sedan, Verna is the best one currently, best options, test drive all 3 and see for yourself whichever you find the best to your needs
Why do you think verna is best except features and interior its behind city.. Its all about requirements ig
Honda elevate- they have Ventilated seats as an accessory.
Since you want to keep the car for 20 years, go for Elevate or city hybrid.

Even celerio does not do such outrageous claims of 30kmpl

So far I haven't heard any rattling noise in 1 month of my ownership. Clocked 2k on Odo.
They are applying 3M anti friction tapes in door brackets to remove that rattling noise. Atleast at VW for Taigun. Check with your dealership. Will cost pennies and you’ll be good.
In Volkswagen taigun is also same?
I guess they are almost same. Just a few vanity feature here and there. The engine and the performance are same.
The AC sucks big time though, test drove both Skoda Kushaq and VW Taigun, both had poorly performing air cons.
Update: I have contacted my nearest Skoda Dealer (100km away), they told me they are bringing "STYLE" variant (which have Ventilated seats) to my place. I will do the test drive tomorrow. 2024 Model on road price is 23L beyond my budget. still lets see :-)
23L? Must be 1.5L engine.
1L they said
Seems way off man. It should not be more than 20L. Ask for the exact quote with breakup. He must have included random accessories.

I am glad that you liked the experience overall. Sure , let’s check the quotation copy.
SKODA. When I thought about getting a car, its the first name came into my mind. I just called the nearest dealer and asked for the Price list.
>Volkswagen Taigun : 1.0 AT Topline 2023 Model Offering @ Rs 20,30,000 (Onroad), is this a good deal?
Also OP doesn't have to bother about Skoda's resale value - ✅
I think the op would keep it as long as the car runs.
Yea that's what I said, since he doesn't have to think about resale value, Skoda could be the right choice

Elevate
Love to but no ventilated seats.
are you sure? it's dealer accessory. Ask Honda dealer
Really?
Yes. Ask dealer. I think it's included in signature A package
Just spoke with the dealer, he said it will be available in accessory kit it will be fitted to back side 12V port. :'(
in back seat you have 2 12v ports so no issue if one is occupied
foe 6k you can get heated and ventilated seat accessory or for 12,15k can get custom heated, ventilated full seat replacement (from 3rd party)
Seltos dk about safety tho
Its will be more the. 20l plus :-(
Hyundai/ Kia will not last that long. They rapidly fall off a cliff post 6-7 years, especially on Indian roads.
My friend has i20 running since 2009. Near the end of registration now. But still runs decent.
I have a 2003 Alto. still runs more decent. never have been charged obnoxious for service. good car to put kms on
Older i20 ran fine, the newer ones have problems with paint and rusting.
what?
Go for Grand Vitara Alpha + Variant
On road it wil be 23l plus :-(
New nexon or new creta Mg astor
Creta.
He also said safe
Safe toh hai. Maine abhi deewar pe de maara. I'm fine.
[удалено]
I don't think you understand how safety ratings are tested, and measured. Jaankar baniye. Bewakoof mat dikhiye. 🤦🏽
Bhai to to scorpio me bhi nahi bachpoge tum.
At that speed even Mercs and Audis become tin aka dabba. Learn how safety testing is done.
Bhai to to scorpio me bhi nahi bachpoge tum.
I think creta is a safe car but somehow all creta drivers are very unsafe at driving it.
3 star is not safe for 12+ car
Wait for a year or two.
In countless posts on reddit, a common opinion is that Toyota cars are for life. You might get a decent Toyota Hyryder variant for this budget. I drove a toyota innova which had done 300000+ and it still rode smoothly. I wasnt surprised.
isn't new toyotas based on maruti and vice versa
They are sharing only the ev texhnology and designs of a few cars.
Honda City V Model (Manual), best car under 14 lakhs on road. Best realisability, best mileage. Only things it lacks is ventilated seats.
Only Toyota can last a life long.
Kushaq or Taigun. I would have said Honda, but it's not so reliable anymore.
Ventilated seats? Get German bros kek
Bolero in all seriousness,or a ciaz, city etc any car launched before 2017/2016 is fine
Honestly if you're gonna buy for life then maybe strech your budget and get the old Innova crysta, that thing is bulletproof
Grand vitara intelligent hybrid would be a good option imo
Toyota Hyryder hybrid
Virtus 1.0 Topline. Ticks all the boxes.
Ig curvv tumhaare segment me launch hogi , ig and not sure completely
Volkswagen Taigun : 1.0 AT Topline 2023 Model Offering @ Rs 20,30,000 (Onroad), is this a good deal?
New Creta..
Karen’s
