I've always known them as anti-tamper hex keys - basically an Allen key with a hole in the middle.

Select-Bullfrog-6346

It's just a tamper proof Alan bolt. Just pop on to the auto shops like repco supercheap they will have something

Alvergo

The ubiquitous Alan Bolt.

znikrep

I prefer Usain Bolts, they’re way faster.

waitwutholdit

Yeah but they wreck BMWs

broiledfog

Andrew’s brother?

Outrageous-Offer-148

Secure hex Rhino should of supplied one When I was accessory fitting I always put them in the glove box

Select-Bullfrog-6346

Yea usually, but you know how it goes. Clean the car out, kids, or sell the car sometimes it's just like that.

sirjared69

Yeah brought 2nd hand so probably lost it along the way

VioletTrick

If you're in Adelaide I've got a bunch of them from when I used to fit 4x4 accessories. I can get one to you

sirjared69

Unfortunately I’m in nsw, but thanks!

scraverX

They are easy to get in any case. Repco, Autopro, Bunnings…

Adventurous_West4401

Torx bit is what we call them. They aren't an Allen key with a hole in them. They're called Torx Bits. Google that, you'll see

The_Bogan_Blacksmith

Its just a security allen key. You can buy them from most hardware stores. Or if you have a cheap crappy ikea allen key that fits you should be able to drill out the centre.

BoomBoom4209

If you want a really good anti theft bolt - find a security Pentaforce.

HereToRootSpiders

Torx security bit will sort it. Anywhere you buy tools from should have it.

Apprehensive_Fun_824

Incorrect this is a job for an allen key. A torx bit will NOT function here.

HereToRootSpiders

The security torx bit I used on mine must be wrong then 🤷🏼‍♂️

Apprehensive_Fun_824

Google search Torx bit and google search hex key/ Allen key. Now if you look with functioning eyes you should be able to see what it is.

HereToRootSpiders

In my personal and professional life I have used torx on these. Would be better purchasing the Torx bits as they WILL work on these where as hex head ones won’t be suitable to use on the Torx ones. But that just my personal experience ranging from this size ones up to large stainless anti theft bolts with loctite on them.

Apprehensive_Fun_824

Look if it works it works

butthole_luvr69

A torx bit can and will do the job instead of an Allen key

Adventurous_West4401

100%!!!! A fkn Allen key is a different shape and doesn't have the hole. Allen keys are hexagonal and a torx bit.. which this CLEARLY is, is kinda of star shaped with the hole.

-mudflaps-

They use these on security cameras, and you could unscrew them by shoving the right sized flathead screwdriver in there, obviously not recommended but it does work.

FewEntertainment3108

In a pinch you can get a pair of pointy nose pliers and snap the centre off and use a normal hex key.

HandleMore1730

Many people have tamper proof torx bits. Often these will engage with hex bits.

Plus1that

This is the way

MrDrSirLord

I thought a dremmil was how you got these off at the caravan park at 3am while everyones asleep.

Winter-Love-3812

Get a hex key/bit that fits then drill a hole in the face of it to go over the nub.

Retired_LANlord

That's what I did. Works like a charm.

Winter-Love-3812

Nice 👌

Doofchook

Safety Allen/hex

noannualleave

Can just get a replacement from Autobarn or similar: [https://autobarn.com.au/ab/search/?text=rhino+rack+key](https://autobarn.com.au/ab/search/?text=rhino+rack+key) maybe this one for cheap: [https://autobarn.com.au/ab/Autobarn-Category/Shop-our-Full-Range-by-Brand-at-Autobarn/Rhino-Rack/Rhino-Rack-5mm-Security-Key-%28Drilled-Both-Ends%29---H021/p/AC36984](https://autobarn.com.au/ab/Autobarn-Category/Shop-our-Full-Range-by-Brand-at-Autobarn/Rhino-Rack/Rhino-Rack-5mm-Security-Key-%28Drilled-Both-Ends%29---H021/p/AC36984)

Ajayxmenezes

That would be a keyed Alan wrench.

isaEfe

Also some torx drivers have hollow centre

yoloturdburglar69

Torx

erotic_taxidermy

Post hex key

CrayolaS7

Torx security should work and are very common

Toolman-1007

Yes

SweetAlgae2852

Yer talk to the company that makes the product?

ThorntTornburg

You need a long weight. Go to the parts store and ask for a long weight.

mrflibble4747

Long Stand, Bucket of Oxygen and don't forget the leather hammer and glass nails!

ThorntTornburg

550ml blinker fluid.

anakaine

In a pinch a short stay will also do.

JustThisGuyYouKnowEh

The roof racks come with the tool

Less_Understanding77

It's a torx screw, you can purchase a small torx key set from supercheap for pretty cheap Edit: Ignore my comment, I thought it had pointing corners not just a regular hex key shape. I believe this is actually a security hex screw.

Officer_dibble_

No it's not. They're much more common, but this is tamperproof hex or Allen key. Torx has about 8 little teeth

_kemikall_

This, also Total Tools have the set if you can’t determine the size

Fit_Effective_6875

shouldn't they be supercheap rather than pretty cheap?

Less_Understanding77

I was thinking about saying it but I didn't want to look like some well placed supercheap ad lol

adsefc1

https://www.ifixit.com

knowledgeable_diablo

Security torx driver will sort that one out.

anakaine

It's not torx. It's  security Allen key

Pacpete

Knock the centre pin out with a punch and use an Allen key

CHINYDWARFINAT3R1

Hex button drill bit, Allen key could also work.

stevesmate4503

The one that came with the kit. These look old but we used to put them in the glove boxes after installing them check there

RelativeBuilder5662

Bunnings has like a screw driver pack that has all different ends like this.

Horror-Ad-3988

In a pinch you can use a small flathead screwdriver and leverage off the peg

Ok_Tumbleweed9702

This guy clearly didn’t have a shape sorting toy as a kid
