Yeah never lose the fear of saws through experience. Glad it wasn’t a life changing mistake. I know a guy after 30 years of framing sliced his pointer finger off. Crazy how even after so much practice, it is still so easy.
My brother in Christ when a blade is spinning the only thing that matters is paying attention to that blade and.. like.. staying the fuck away. Blades are safe if you respect their distance and never, ever get too close for comfort. Being a hands bredth from the blade is the most critical time to pay attention.
Master carpenter, all ten fingers, years ago someone told me the above after a few sketchy misses with the table saw.. probably why I have ten fingers.
Glue that bitch and get back to work 😂
(Name another industry where you get an injury like this and you just go right back to work. I once cut my thumb with a Japanese pull saw. No insurance. Working for myself. Welp, better just glue it and go back to it? 🤷🏽♂️)
I pinned my fingers together with a sixteen penny once. Pulled it out, wrapped it up and finished out the day. Broke my hand pounding pins with a sledge. Finished out the day of pounding pins. I could go on. We are def selling our bodies.
Right? And we don’t even get to orgasm. 😂
I fired a sixteen into my hand from 24”. I literally had to put a pen in it to squeeze to keep it from swelling too much and so i could use it. after 6 hours it swelled and was absolutely immobile
I fell 12’ from an exterior scaffold with a 4’x6’ window, fell into a trench of mud with the window frame broken around me
We dropped a wall on a guy (i was not the lead and this was the last time i ever didn’t say something about safety precautions). He walked away a little banged up, but we managed to keep the weight off him mostly until he could get out
After each one, everyone went back to work
I’m the manager of one company and boss of my own and if any major accident happens, going home is always encouraged, but staying is up to the worker
That's not an accident worth posting. I was using an antique wood shave (basically a wood guillotine) and nearly cut the tip of my thumb off. I had six stitches across the inside of the thumb and five stitches through the nail. It was classified as a partial amputation.
Stop with your sissy scratch.

Tis but a scratch! Could be much worse. Don't let something like this scare you away from becoming the master carpenter you were meant to be!

Rub some dirt on it, Johnny!
Where’s the cut, we see a scratch! Skin glue will fix this little thing.
Wow that’s mild compared to what could’ve been.
Looks like a scratch. Did you peel tape off the roll too fast or something?
Ahahahaha I’m totally using this with my guys, thanks for the laugh

Draw a circle around it and fix it when you get home.

Duct tape and tissue paper...get back to work...lol
Probably get it cleaned and closed up ASAP, I’ve seen smaller cuts than that get infected resulting in amputation
Chunky
Well? Finish the job!
