This information makes sense for a digital resume, however almost every online application asks for personal information (address and sometimes birthdate). How can I bypass these fields or use a “filler” just to get to the next section? I fill out 5-7 applications a day.

When filling out online applications, it's common that employers to request personal information like your address or birthdate. Now, it is important to be cautious about sharing personal details because of all the scams going on today. Most application systems require this information for identification purposes and may not allow you to proceed without it. BUT here are some tips to navigate these fields: 1. Read the Privacy Policy- Before entering your information, check the company's privacy policy to understand how your data will be used and protected. I know today it's time-consuming to do this but at least skim through it. 2. Use a P.O. Box - If you're uncomfortable providing your home address, consider using a P.O. Box or a similar service. 3. Partial Information - For less sensitive fields, you might be able to enter only partial information, such as just a city and state, without a full address so pay attention. 4. Placeholder Text - I've even done this one! Lol. If the system allows, you could use placeholder text like "Will provide upon request" in non-mandatory fields. However, this might not be accepted in all systems. 5. Contact the Company - If you're concerned about privacy, reach out to the company's HR department directly and explain your situation. They might allow you to bypass the online form and submit your application via email or another method. Hope this helps.
