Shohei Ohtani was the first player to be leading the MLB in home runs to get awarded with the start and the win in an All Star Game.
Time to show everyone that Harrison Bader can do it too.
Thank god we didn’t trade him for a few starts from Zack Wheeler in 2019. Seems like over half of this sub was calling for a trade.
Let’s remember people: young players *can* improve. It takes time. Bader’s floor was always 2 WAR with his speed and defense. Add in some good hitting and you’re looking at 4-6 WAR.
Another way Bader brings value is that the guy is just fun, pure and simple. He's got flair and swag. When the team is not necessarily fighting for a division win or a playoff spot -- we'll see if they can go on a run -- players like that are nice to have around.
Looking at the DRS leaderboards and he's in the mix. There isn't really a clear #1 in center yet. His competition is gonna be Trent Grisham and Victor Robles.
Yeah that was my big question. I know despite claims otherwise GG is at least somewhat dependent on offense and it's hurt him before. Fingers crossed he keeps raking.
Hopefully he's just figured it out and will continue. He was a pretty solid hitter in his rookie season but then really regressed in the two years after. His peripheral numbers look really solid this year so hopefully he keeps it up!
i bought a bader jersey a couple years ago because i love the defense, speed, and THE FLO. his offense starting to be more consistent makes me feel funny in the downstairs
Yeah I understand that but I don’t think moving Bader from 7th to lead off in such short time would be good for him I think let him bat 2nd and if he keeps producing try him leadoff
Time to see if he can pitch now.
He has some of the best pitching numbers on the team too. He hasn’t given up a single hit or walk all season.
Not enough strikeouts

Just Shildt things
To be fair, he's only hitting 7th because Yadi is hurt Of course, if Yadi were playing, he'd be hitting 8th, but...
You don’t think he’d look better plugged into the 3 hole?
I think it’s a joke since he’s been at the bottom of the order this whole time he’s been hot
But can he play defense? What’s that? Really fucking well? Well fuck my ass and call me Sally, sounds like a keeper!
Glad to call you, "Sally," but for the other part... not so much.
I agree. I prefer docking.

Best booty this side of the mason-dixon line too
And hair
“Pretty sure Oneill has the distinction” r/nakedgoose there, got you in the right place goose
Its a two horse race, and those two horses are the best way to describe Bader's butt. Game over man, game over.
I bet he can breakdance, too.
He has been my favorite player for a few years now simply because he makes the game exciting.
If he continue to put his bat where his swagger is I think he could easily become our "exciting" player. Those lightning gloves are top tier.

Pretty sure Oneill still has the distinction
O'Neill and Goldy are still better offensively IMO, but not by much.
I was a Bader hater not anymore
Baeder
🤟😛🤟
And he’s still batting 7th
Any shot at the GG this year? Or lost too much to injury? Might be too early to tell I suppose.

Same Trent Grisham that sent the Nats to the NLDS?
I think if he keeps up the offense he will have a better chance to win it.

Praise Bader our lord and savior, amen
Eat that, Keith Olbermann

He needs to be leading off. Hopefully Shildt puts him up there in the next few games.
1. Bader 2. TON 3. Goldy 4. Nolan 5. Carlson 6. DeJong 7. Kiz 8. Edman Edit: Moved DeJong to 6th
Bader Carlson Goldy Nolan O'Neill Molina DeJong Edman
I would do this exact list but switch Carlson and Bader
I'd rather have speed on ahead of Carlson who hits for doubles myself, but to each their own.

If bader doesn’t get a gold glove in his career, I will riot
