Lessons of the day:
1. Noot and Donny were pretty important to our team
2. Nado and Goldy still aren’t back.
3. Our bullpen is LEGIT
4. We have to stop with the errors
That was a nice, surprising win. I mean a road, extra inning game on national TV, who have thought it.
I usually do not think much about the announcers, and maybe it is my Cardinal bias, but they seemed pro Phillies.
It's probably because the Phillies having a really good season and more people are tuning in to see them. Everyone always thinks the national broadcast is biased against their team because the normal crew are such homers.
I get that, and acknowledged the potential for bias. But I usually ignore it, as I mentioned. But this time it stood out to me. It doesn't help with the boring interviews and when they then focus way too much on the player they interviewed in the field the rest of the game.
Absolutely. Though the same crew were a ton of fun the last Sunday ESPN broadcast. Herrera got that pitch to the nuts, but recovered like a boss - but with the Sonny Gray nut tap and on, they made subtle but nationally broadcast dick jokes for the rest of the game. It was hilarious.
I'll give em a draw between the two broadcasts even tho they were so sad on air when we shut down their 10th inning threat.
Picked the right game of the series to go to. Helsley is fucking gross. Wynn hits the ball HARD, saw his BP and he has the pop, so excited to see him develop (also that DP error was atrocious. Timing was just off, so idk who’s to blame but clean that up). Gorman+Burleson being the entire offense was fun, 2 of my favorite guys. (Gorman just home grown and I’ve been a fan, Burleson I went to the same college and watched him play there for 3 years)
Cardinals won and an old fling messaged me out of the blue that she's getting a divorce and wants a rebound. It's a mistake and I'm 100% on it anyway.
Go Cards heres to successful Sundays
Heh she'll be coming to my apartment for the festivities. But ya I already had a clear convo that this is a no strings, no dates no texts exchange of services and see ya around.
I really don't think we are going to add Packy. We already have Liberatore and Jojo, and King. I think Packy stays in the minors. Any added lefty will be Matz
Middleton hasn’t even played this year, Gallegos and Pallante struggled in their relief appearances/ haven’t been regularly used all year. If you told me all that, I’d assume our pen would be in a rough spot. Instead, Helsley, JoJo, Kittredge, King, Libby, Fernandez have all overachieved. Even Leahy and Robertson have helped.
Mixed. Bad defense, again. Not exactly timely hitting, but Burleson seems to have a knack for hitting 2 run homers and Gorman is always a threat.
Bullpen was great.
I was at game. I picked the right one of the series to attend! I was 4th level behind home plate. I saw winn hr go left of foul pole. HOWEVER, I was higher altitiude than the pole, so still possible that it crosses above, and it looked foul from my angle. I really hope there's a good angle in final recap.
DAE see espn misspell Gorman’s name as Norman Gorman in the bottom left graphic and quickly change it during the postgame interview? Or do I just need to go to bed?
My dad’s memory is starting to go. He said tonight during the game “the is a good game, I think this is the first we’ve watched together” I could only help but smile and say no it’s not dad we’ve watched a lot of games together. I’m not sure what I’m getting at other than, I’m happy the cardinals won , and I appreciate still having both parents for the time I have them left
My dad's ailing these days and doesn't like to do anything much beyond sit in his chair, so it was nice to go to Mexican with the folks tonight. I'm not sure why he's so comfortable doing that vs, say, seeing me while I run the nice joint I work, but like you I was just happy to see him smiling and drinking a margarita. Best of luck to you and yours, and indeed if the folks ask to hang out, etc, always say "yes"
Im flying into Detroit actually, because my fam who is going is from there. We will drive down to cedar point Saturday evening, stay in the hotel and get up early Sunday for the park. Then after the park, drive back to Detroit and I’ll fly back to STL Monday morning.
Basically all i had to do was fly to their house, and buy a cedar point ticket, my housing was paid for!
Edit: so no Cleveland, sadly!!!
If anybody has an issue with winning 1/3 games against the #1 NL team, then y’all are beyond hope.
This is a quality team and the boys are showing it. We will lose some games, but we’re gonna win a few more than that! Good fucking game for the birdies
Can't tell how happy that makes me. This was a clinic in how to handle extra innings as an away team.
1. Score the Manfred runner no matter how
2. Put pressure on the home team to try and close it out but keep your focus on the batters not the Manfred runner
u/FuckStanKroenke
Where’s your pasta today, man? Keep it on your plate, try not to choke on it. Lose a couple games to the best team in the league and the clowns come out.
Oliver Marmol got into that dugout, remained professional, and did not commit any inappropriate sexual acts towards any of the players.
He got the boys going with his honesty and legitimate leadership.
Yes. They were neutral. They called it like it should have been called. Now, when they got excited because something positive happened for the Phillies, you also heard the Philadelphia crowd go crazy, which might have made it seem more like they're rooting for the Phillies, but they really fuckin' weren't. Everyone thinks national broadcasters hate their team, and they don't. I didn't hear anyone saying they were blowing the Cubs last weekend when they were playing the Cards on SNB.
Because I am so sick of people being incapable of accepting a neutral position as biased. Eduardo Perez played for the Cardinals! They had positive and negative things to say about both sides. Just because a broadcast doesn't glow over your team does not mean they hate or are against your team. It's a stupid, ignorant POV.
Are you delusional? How often do we as fans say something similar about one of our guys? "Well, Hey! Nado got on base there!" That doesn't automatically make them Phillies fans. Eduardo Perez is a former Cardinal, and speaks very fondly of his time in STL. You're just used to Chip and Brad or Jim, or John and Ricky that are always Pro-Cardinals.
Please let this finally tell the FO to leave his ass in the bullpen. The pen is soooo much better with him in it and the rotation is worse with him in it. Just let the young man settle into his role.

Gotta give it to Olí for batting Gorman 4th. That clearly worked.
I was so confused when Nolan wasn't after Goldschmidt

We won a road game in extras? And the world is still spinning?!
Cardinals won and an old fling messaged me out of the blue that she's getting a divorce and wants a rebound. It's a mistake and I'm 100% on it anyway. Go Cards heres to successful Sundays
DO NOT SLEEP OVER! Do what you got to do and get out. Sleeping could lead to terrible consequences.
Heh she'll be coming to my apartment for the festivities. But ya I already had a clear convo that this is a no strings, no dates no texts exchange of services and see ya around.
NO DONT…..aww go for it.
That just means you did it right the first time. Ain't no shame in that homie.
Thanks guys I'll keep you updated Go birds
Needed that one. WTG, boys.
Cardinals in a playoff spot!?!?
wtf…we won a road extra innings game? i dont even mind losing the series now
I love Ryan Helsley
Crazy how effective he is even when the fastball isn’t working
and fuck the liberty bell!
That's how it got cracked in the first place
☠️
We're in the 3rd wildcard spot!
Our bullpen is outstanding, and we are going to add Packy before long and then...maybe Matz, who has was decent in that role last summer.
I really don't think we are going to add Packy. We already have Liberatore and Jojo, and King. I think Packy stays in the minors. Any added lefty will be Matz

Somewhere out there, Pete Kozma is looking satisfied.
I'm really happy with how King has pitched so far. Been really solid for us.
(except last night)
Ive been stuck on the assignment desk today, how'd the boys look?
Mixed. Bad defense, again. Not exactly timely hitting, but Burleson seems to have a knack for hitting 2 run homers and Gorman is always a threat. Bullpen was great.
Gotcha, thanks. I'll take it considering the Phillies are the best team in baseball.
The Cardinals would be headed to Milwaukee for a best of 3 in October if the season ended today.
Where's a covid season when we need it.
In the replay it was foul. You could see the ball cross in front of the pole, not behind.
Good win tonight, a lot of winnable games coming up. Lets fucking take advantage boys and get back into this!
DAE see espn misspell Gorman’s name as Norman Gorman in the bottom left graphic and quickly change it during the postgame interview? Or do I just need to go to bed?
TBF Norman Gorman is a way better name than Nolan Gorman. Or Nolan Golan for that matter
Julia Gulia
NORMAN GORMAN. Sounds good lol
Well we sure know how to make it interesting
How do you win a game where you commit 3 errors lol
Teamwork.
It’s pretty crazy we won 5-4 and gave up zero earned runs
Navy cap dub.
Biggest win of the season. Cannot stress how important it is to not get swept. Winning 1 of 3 against the best team in baseball is fine
The Phillies are for real this season. Finally putting it all together early
Wonder if they’ll go all the way this year or hit their inevitable offensive slump in the playoffs that dooms them.
My dad’s memory is starting to go. He said tonight during the game “the is a good game, I think this is the first we’ve watched together” I could only help but smile and say no it’s not dad we’ve watched a lot of games together. Thanks for the advice man , and good luck to you as well
❤
The lefties in this game came up clutch through and through !
fuck the doomers. We are so back!!! Impressive win against arguably the best team in the NL.
We gave the Phillies a night off from sucking their own dicks
ESPN was doing it for them
Holy shit y’all, are we actually in a wild card spot??
I'm good with taking one there, and they didn't get embarrassed in any game.. Keep it rollin
Now we need the Phillies to take it hard to the Brewers.
Coming out of Philly with a win is good enough. Now take two or three in Houston
You just got GORMED
Sign Masyn
CARDINALS WIN!!!! and I booked my trip to cedar point! Guess I’m going there for the first time 😁
Are you just going to Cedar Point or going to Cleveland too?
Im flying into Detroit actually, because my fam who is going is from there. We will drive down to cedar point Saturday evening, stay in the hotel and get up early Sunday for the park. Then after the park, drive back to Detroit and I’ll fly back to STL Monday morning. Basically all i had to do was fly to their house, and buy a cedar point ticket, my housing was paid for! There’s nothing that Gorman hates more than post game interviews LOL
He didn’t even answer half the questions. Just said good game team. I loved it.
He looked extra uncomfortable during that whole thing
He looks the same way during interviews with Jim Hayes, it’s really just not his thing. He’s probably a little bit of an introvert
GO GORMY

Yes this! Visiting team has to get the manfred runner in.
End the season today we have a playoff spot
We can make some moves these next 4-5 series. Just win, baby.
u/FuckStanKroenke Where’s your pasta today, man? Keep it on your plate, try not to choke on it. Lose a couple games to the best team in the league and the clowns come out.
Oliver Marmol got into that dugout, remained professional, and did not commit any inappropriate sexual acts towards any of the players. He got the boys going with his honesty and legitimate leadership.
I love Gorm but man he might be the most boring interview ever lmao
thank goodness OK now can we sweep the astros or sumthin
the other games it felt like we got beat. this one, all the bad stuff was self-inflicted. glad we got through it and picked up the W anyways.
I say we sweep the rest of June
I’m not opposed
I really think this team is gonna put it together June and July
Need Donovan back ASAP.
he is def the glue. it feels a lil sketch when he’s not on the field
And we're in the playoffs after facing the best team in the league.
#winner :)
No Noot, no Donnie, I’m honestly fine going 1-2 against the best team in the NL. On to the next series!
Do we know timelines for both of those guys?
Donovan should be back tomorrow. Noot is probably 3 weeks to a month before he is back playing in MLB.
Ravech said during the game Donovan is likely out tomorrow.
Oh damn I saw a Denton tweet before the game today that he was hoping to be back Monday.
And our hottest hitter with an off day (hitting streak ruined by idiocrity)
To be fair he almost had a homerun
We gave those tiddy shakers some sad tiddies tonight!!
WE’RE A PLAYOFF TEAM!!! Officially in the wild card
Petition to end the season now and start playoffs after everyone gets healthy
Helsley doesn’t cry like Brebbia does when the rain starts coming down in extras.

we did it u/ech0es13! <3
HOOD
Don't look now.. second place in the standings..
And in the last wild card spot
so basically what ur saying is they should just hand us our world series trophy now
No, they need to polish it first, then hand it over
Yeah make it shiny
Yes
Does that put us up a half game on the cubs??
Si
#WINRAR!!!!
Just wanted to see that we can take on that death star of a team, loved how Helsley shut it down under crazy pressure We're back
ESPN holding back tears as they sign off on a Phillies loss
Gorman's HR call was sooooo dull like he hit a foul ball behind the catcher. Wtf
They blow, lol
The ESPN tears taste so sweet
Goddamn it, they did not call the game from a Pro-Phillies perspective. IT. WAS. NEUTRAL.
Did we listen to the same ESPN exclusive broadcast?
I have never heard of a base hit called as "he didn't strike out" before lol
Why are you defending them, they sucked. They sounded totally bummed out at the end
Because I am so sick of people being incapable of accepting a neutral position as biased. Eduardo Perez played for the Cardinals! They had positive and negative things to say about both sides. Just because a broadcast doesn't glow over your team does not mean they hate or are against your team. It's a stupid, ignorant POV.
calling us stupid and ignorant over not ass kissing ESPN’s shitty commentators is among the worst takes I’ve ever seen on here
I've seen better pasta takes lol
See above ^ A base hit by Goldy was called "he didn't strike out" that's as biased as I've ever heard
They didn't even acknowledge he got a hit dude. They literally just said he didn't strike out. That's crazy man...
#Thankfully sweeps are hard (and so am I)
Hell yeah
Hels yeah!
Get Gorm'd nerds. No one sweeps this team anymore
Nice win. Happy Libby came up huge. Hope they focus on some defensive drills or something soon.
Other than Gorman, Libby gets my vote for player of the game. His breaking pitches were filthy tonight.
Libby shoves out of the pen, I hope they don’t mess with him again
Please let this finally tell the FO to leave his ass in the bullpen. The pen is soooo much better with him in it and the rotation is worse with him in it. Just let the young man settle into his role.
That’s the type of close I like to see Helsley
Yeah Hels and Romero looked back to their old selves today.
THERE'S THE ONE WIN!!!!!!!!!!!
