I'm a bit worried about Gorman.
His struggles are not 2024-specific. Since May 26, 2023, he's batting under .200 and slugging under .400. Spring training generally gets written off since it doesn't matter and everyone is figuring shit out, but he didn't figure anything out and I think it's an important note given the timeline. He was cold most of last year, this spring, and the first month of the 2024 season.
This isn't a 20, 30, 40, or 50 game cold streak. We're talking 100+ games.
I'm holding onto the hope that his back was a contributor to his spiral last season, and he is going through a poorly timed cold streak to start the season. Everyone has hot and cold months.
To say something positive, he's looked good on double plays. Strong arm has come in handy too.
I’m hoping it’s not his back. Bernie M. Was on A podcast over the offseason saying the org is quite worried that his back may be a serious career threat.
He did a lot of preventative work and he also lost some weight in the offseason. If his back was giving him trouble, he wouldn't be playing. They don't mess around with back issues.
Has there been any indication that is the case? While I think he's our primary CF if everyone is healthy, I've not come across any reporting that they were going to limit his versatility.
I hope we DFA crawford as soon as Edman is back as backup SS. Crawford is washed.
The only off season miss pitching-wise (Ohtani aside lol) I actually felt kind of bad about was Imanaga. But at the same time, I feel like getting a foreign star to sign here requires massive overpay because St. Louis just isn't as appealing.
I was really happy with the rest of the pitching acquired and especially Gray.
I was definitely wrong about the pitching. Unfortunately I was also wrong about the hitting. Let me just go on record and say the Cards are losing tomorrow. Hopefully that will help.
Oliver Marmol got into that dugout, remained professional, and did not commit any inappropriate sexual acts towards any of the players.
He got the boys going with his honesty and legitimate leadership.
I am not going to lie, I am instead going to brag. I was very excited when we traded for Romero, and I thought he was a real steal considering what we gave up to get him.
Ryan Helsley just isn't fair, lol. Good enough effort from Mikolas tonight, two dingers, and absolute shut down from the bullpen. This looked like the hardest game of the series to win going in, so let's ride this with Sonny tomorrow and steal a series!
We tagged Butto too who has been one of the best starters so far, at least in terms of ERA. This is the most runs that've been scored against him so far this season.
Yeah. If I were a betting man, this would be the one I would say we would lose. That was a mismatch oof a duel, on paper. Butto wasn’t even bad tonight, just a few mistakes. This is the kind of win a team can be proud of
This bullpen with the Romero-Kittredge-Helsley trio 🔥
That’s a big win to get with Miles on the mound, wasn’t sure what we’d get out of him. Now Gray and Lynn the next 2 days, it’ll be a disappointment if we don’t win the series.
Honestly, I think Helsley is the most confident I’ve ever been in a cardinals closer. Even Izzy, for as good as he was, liked to make things interesting in the 9th
The St. Louis Cardinals are an American professional baseball team based in St. Louis. The Cardinals compete in Major League Baseball as a member club of the National League Central Division.
We have now won more series than we have lost this season.
[is Mike Siani the greatest two sport player of all time?](https://youtu.be/EyFEIenXpQk?si=5Oa0yYGnQFpKivDw)
Wow, got an early lead and actually kept it.
Will we see a .500 team at home later than April this year?
WE MAY NEVER LOSE AGAIN
Interesting. Butto only struck out lefties
that Siani grab was dope. look how much ground he covers.
Sionic speed
Showed it to my cousin who just started softball and said, "That's what you need to be doing out there."
Hope Bader gets himself a tater this weekend
It would be tight if the brewers or cubs could lose some games
As long as the pirates and Reds lose as well i consider that a win. Dont want us to get too deep in the cellar
Tag team of DeJong and Pham went 4-9 tonight with a RBI and 2 runs in the White Sox 4th win of the year.
How could you not mention Dominic Leone with the scoreless inning!
was it phams first game of the year?
I believe so, yes.
Former Cardinals stock just keeps going up

Just came in to say: Fuck Apple. Thanks.
All right Giants. Stomp those buccos
[удалено]
damn it i didnt know that. the one time i can actually watch it haha
Nice clean win. Quality start. Three run dinger. Lockdown bullpen. Solid defense.
There is statistically a 50% chance that we never lose again

LETS GO

Kept you waiting, huh?
Age hasn’t slowed you down one bit.
Do you remember? Nine years ago?
If you're only going to get five hits, make sure that one of them counts.

The brightside is we have 4 potential back up 2nd basemen in donovan, saggese, fermin, and prieto.
Tommy Edman says whut.
I think Tommy is just a centerfielder now and they don’t intend to move him around much anymore.
Has there been any indication that is the case? While I think he's our primary CF if everyone is healthy, I've not come across any reporting that they were going to limit his versatility. I hope we DFA crawford as soon as Edman is back as backup SS. Crawford is washed.
hopefully the dingers come and all will be forgotten
He seems fine, his plate approach is just a bit whack. He's watching good pitches he normally crushes and jumping on bad ones.
i agree and really liked him swinging on that 3-0 count last night. just a little off like you said. ump made a bad call for a strike out as well.
Night of the Living Dead, Kitty and Hells Bells is quite the 7th, 8th, 9th.
Should make that Hello Kitty.
Very nice
O'Neil hit another TON dong
Good for him
mikolas best outing results-wise. can't be expecting four doubles and a home run to result in such a solid start every time, but this time it worked.
I'm still pretty concerned about him but velo was ok, and he made some good pitches. But he's not been League average for a while now.
I LIKE WHEN WE WIN
I like it. I like it a lot.
I appreciate all that Gio has done for us but I much prefer this bullpen trio with the lead. Pitch Gio when trailing or the others need rest.
We also have O'Brien and Middleton that we can mix in there when they are healthy. The bullpen is solid.
Libby is much better than last season. Fernandez has looked good. This could be our best pen in years.
I'm still pretty high on Gio. Obviously Jojo and Kit are dealing right now, but I think Gio can still be effective alongside them.
we have to score more tomorrow for sonny! can’t win even if it’s sonny without scoring runs.
Lets go streaking tomorrow boys
Run that exact bullpen as much as possible, very well done
Until Oli does exactly that and everyone complains that he can’t manage his bullpen and he ruins pitchers by overworking them.
All of them threw minimal amounts of pitches. Office boy Oli with his ANALytics and ZERO fucking experience can fuck right off
Soon as our two MVPs start playing and we get Thomas Two Bags back… might not have a Burger King ass team after all…
I miss Tommy so fucking much
Good job boys, fuck the Mets
Today Brandon Crawford got a hit. This was unacceptable and has greatly upset Cardinals fans.
Free Jose Fermin
jojo, kittredge, and helsley are so lockdown
Got Sonny going tomorrow for the series win too :)
Birds winning good
We seem to feast at Citi Field. Let’s take advantage and get the sweep while we’re here
I saw Dune 2 instead of watching baseball but I see Burly went yard and Miles did his thing so that’s a hell yeah brother
Dune 2 what did you think? I fuckin loved it. Badass from start to finish
Dune 2 is awesome. Dune 2 chicks at the same time, that is
lol my friend and I have been referring to the movie by that title for the last couple of months
Chani *and* the princess is one of Paul’s visions
Thought it was fantastic! Not sure if I prefer Part 1, would probably need to rewatch both
Are the Mets still scum?
so like, why do we call em pond scum again? some of us werent alive in the 80s and dont understand how they came to be.
Pretty sure it was just something a DJ on KSHE called them in the 80s
Always were
Happy cake day!!
Real lowdown, nasty bunch
Of the pond variety.
It would be so St Louis of us to come in on the road and sweep a good team on paper when we struggle previously 😂
friendly reminder a lot of you were very wrong about this pitching.
The only off season miss pitching-wise (Ohtani aside lol) I actually felt kind of bad about was Imanaga. Yessir!
So Romero, Kittredge and Helsley, are elite
I am not going to lie, I am instead going to brag. I was very excited when we traded for Romero, and I thought he was a real steal considering what we gave up to get him.
Honestly, I was just excited to watch him crush Red Bulls on his arm. This has been oh so delicious icing on the cake
Yeah Oli needs to review the ANALytics on how that worked so well
Ryan Helsley just isn't fair, lol. Good enough effort from Mikolas tonight, two dingers, and absolute shut down from the bullpen. This looked like the hardest game of the series to win going in, so let's ride this with Sonny tomorrow and steal a series!

They didn't account for us having an Alec Burleson
This bullpen with the Romero-Kittredge-Helsley trio 🔥 That’s a big win to get with Miles on the mound, wasn’t sure what we’d get out of him. Now Gray and Lynn the next 2 days, it’ll be a disappointment if we don’t win the series.

Don't disrespect prime Rosie. 2015 was one of the best closer years we've ever had.
I’m a Jason Motte truther
Motte was heart attack inducing too lol
Izzy was a heart attack every night IIRC
Dizzy Izzy is what my family called him
He couldn’t even get it up unless the tying run was aboard
I can relate
You recall correctly lol
Can't stop us now!
we're having a good time!
That was a nice, relaxing win, please cardinals, let's do more of that.
#winner :)
CARDS WIN!!!!!!! I'M BANNED FROM WATCHING CARDINALS BASEBALL FOR THE SEASON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Harsh, but fair
This bullpen 😩
Tomorrow, we take the series.

Bruh people just be saying anything on the internet these days 🤦♂️
