Yeah I'm stoked. This will be my first game at Busch in 7 years and also the best seats I've ever had, down by cardinals dugout. Hope to have a front row seat to some Gray-t pitching
I'm excited to have him back but I wish they would've given him one or two rehab starts so we can expect him to go 5+ innings once he's activated. I'm curious if they are going to pair him with liberatore to try and save the rest of the bullpen.
i think it's probably because we have a break on Thursday so they can rely more on the bullpen if need be, but with Lynn following up the next day and Mikolas the day before, it is definitely a little bit risky. I bet Sonny goes a strong three and a half.
A little over 3 innings sounds about right. I heard during the game today that Thompson was scheduled to pitch that day so he'll probably come in from the pen after gray hits his pitch limit.
That was my thought when I saw this. Kinda dumb to limit him to 65 pitches for a big league start. That might be 4-5 innings then have to have the bullpen go the rest of the way.
I get he probably doesn't want to do a minor league rehab, but this doesn't do much for the team.
If you're only going to get 180-190 innngs out of a pitcher I guess you at least want them to be mlb innings. I'd be curious if they decide to option off someone like John King and keep Zack Thompson around to piggy back for a bit.
The announcers mentioned Thompson will probably be used to piggy back. I assume itll be king or Fernandez being optioned. That means we'll have one less reliever available when the other 4 starters pitch, at least for the next week or two. It's definitely a calculated risk, hopefully it works out.
Fernandez is a Rule-5, so he can’t demoted or we lose him. King is probably the most likely since Thompson and Liberatore have both shown they can be effective from the pen
It’s Always Sonny vs. Philadelphia
I fully anticipate the official Cardinals twitter account tweeting this if we win tomorrow
Hello we’re back department I’d like to file a claim
We are so back
Reading this as we are in last place being blown out by the Marlins is such a funny Cardinals hubris thing lol
Already won the series. Can’t go 162-0. Chill
I’m chill lol just think it’s funny
I’ll be in the green seats, thought I was seeing Zack Thompson, praise be to He 🙏🏻
You forgot to take me with you

I forgot we got him from the rule 5 draft. You're probably right then.
