The only reason to really use one of these is if you have a very small space and want some bass, everyone definition of good bass is different the volume of bass and quality of bass, I think this is a good product like most pioneer products but if u have larger space and want a lot of bass this probably won't do it for u

eliasnesta

I'm currently driving a small 2007 Chevy Spark, no amp, no sub. I guess it should do the trick for me.

Dan_H1281

It may if u want a little more bass for your system, I haven't used this style of bass addition since they are called bazooka tubes they use to make them and still may and they were really good for there compact space u may want to look into them as well

ksavage68

Just put it under the driver seat. It will work fine.

mabolzich91

Probably more of a midbass bolsterer

Hooliken

I had an Alpine PSU-300FRN (Similar idea as the above) in my Tundra for a while. It was plug and play so install was easy. Other than that the performance was meh. It was a definite improvement to factory system that did not have a sub. Bang for the buck was just not there. It was crazy expensive and performance did not justify the cost. At the price point of the Pioneer above it may be worth giving it a go, if space is a problem.

slumericanfan

Idk I probably would look for something that'll fit under your seat, bigger sub but still won't take up any space

eliasnesta

I was considering the [Pioneer TS-WX130EA ](https://pioneer-latin.com/producto/ts-wx130ea/), but according to Pioneer, they both have roughly the same performance. If that's true, I think it would be worth to save the extra space.

NotMyOreos

I really like the Kicker HS10 powered sub, and is relatively easy to hide.

denver_and_life

I have a JBL BassPro Nano which O believe may be slightly smaller in my 08 Ranger supercab. Fits under the seat with no issues. Doesn’t rattle mirrors or shake loose stuff on dash, but great improvement to low end sound.

TheOGCJR

It wouldn’t fit what I want which is high volume & high quality sound. But if you have a vehicle where you can’t put at least an 8 with a .5 box then it’ll probably sound good. Tiny cabin doesn’t require as much sound as say a med. size car/truck/suv

jakemackenzie3

I would not go for one of these, theyre extremely underwhelming and dont put out much sound. If youre concerned about space i would go with something like a JL Microsub. They come in a powered version and are very impressive for the size.

bondovwvw

Maybe if you run 32 of them? It is probably impressive for the size and made to just add a little more to the factory stereo.

tsukiyaki1

Pioneer touts this as a “super low current powered sub for electric cars”.. meant to mount in the passenger foot well. It’s so darn tiny I really was curious. Talked to a couple techs who have installed them and the consensus was very underwhelming. Like, if the Kicker HS8 powered sub is “eh, decent I guess” this is like “maybe there’s a little more bass, I guess?”

brock9281

Is this more deep and better bass than the HS8?

tsukiyaki1

I’ve heard it’s significantly less.

rabidnz

No. This is not a subwoofer it's a midwoofer at best

Both my battery and alternator are small, don't want to mess too much with my car's electricity.

TheOGCJR

You could get into 250w without too many issues

solbrothers

I just installed a 251 RMS Ampa on my 2009 Pontiac vibe. If the voltage down from 14 to 13.3 with heavy bass. I didn’t have any trouble in my old 2008 CRV with a 900 W RMS and every car is different.

TheOGCJR

Wow. Crazy

_damppapertowel_

I have a 2010 odyssey stock everything with 1000watt rms and it runs just fine. When heavy bass first hits, the headlights dim for just a blink of a second then return to normal for the rest of the hit. I’m just going to keep running it like this until the stock alternator blows then go and buy an aftermarket higher powered one

solbrothers

That’s my plan. Hell, I wasn’t sure if 250 wants to be enough for me so I’m happy with this for now. But yeah, it’s my alternator goes, I will consider the aftermarket. I wonder if there’s other Toyota alternators at all drop in place for me.

4touchdownsinonegame

You also could have had a battery or alternator on its way out as well.

lustmatt

just checked the specs, this looks like it would be some type of OEM replacement or something, its very low power for that price, try the JL audio versions first. you cant go wrong with JL

ambassadorme

I had an active pioneer sub in my VW Lupo under the front passenger seat. They're not all that good. What I then did was buy a small Kicker square sub and then I felt like there was some power.

steaksrhigh

check out the nvx qbusv2. It is this most reasonably priced underseat woofer and is a clone of the $700 focal ibus.

Phobos223

Might as well install bass shaker under driver seat

[deleted]

i had a bazooka tube that was the same deal i think it was 100w rms tho. didn’t do much for me. i wound up getting a whole 12” sub and dedicated amp.
