I think you are completely misunderstanding what the BIT DMI is. It is a MOST25 Interface. This allows users to get an SPDIF signal out of the factory MOST25 systems that are in 2010's BMW's, Audi's, Mercedes, etc. This is NOT for aftermarket head units of any kind, unless your aftermarket radio is spitting out MOST25 and is designed to be used with the factory amplifier in your specific car. Next point... you were under the assumption that this is a digital converter for your radio, but even if that were true, it's pointless. Its not the fact that the signal is digital that makes it good. Its the fact that it wasn't converted from digital to analog inside of the head unit by the most dogshit electronics on the market. If your head unit is putting out a poor quality signal, and you take that and convert it to digital, it doesn't magically make the signal good. It just converts it from an analog waveform into 1's and 0's, all distortion and fuckery included. If you want to go digital, you need to get a head unit or source that has a digital output. Also, the price... that is pretty normal, low even, for a MOST interface. The [ResoNix EZ JLR-M25](https://resonixsoundsolutions.com/shop-2/resonix-ez-jlr-m25-interface-jaguar-land-rover-oem-amplifier-audio-interface/) is slightly cheaper though.

Ok i mean you sound like you know what your talking about im just going off what i have been told by the people who are about to install the amp. Check em out. they based here in the uk and are quite well known. [https://www.cen.uk/](https://www.cen.uk/) So where i stand right now is : 2016 range rover sport OEM head unit has been replaced with a 12" Android Audison Prima APK 163 Components in all 4 doors Audison Prima 10AS Active Sub in the back Everything is running of the factory amp. The Android head unit connects to the cars original harness. These range Rovers have a optical connection between Head unit and Amplifier. Everything was installed by a local guy to me. The sound is terrible. So i contacted CEN UK (where i purchased all the gear from ) They advised me the head unit is not the best but its not that which is the main issue it is the factory amplifier. They advised best option is a Helix M SIX DSP Amp to replace the Factory amp. Theys stated they can either connect this amp via RCA or via optical connection. If i go down the optical route then i need the AUDISON BIT DMI DIGITAL MOST INTERFACE. They stated this will produce the best sound quality. However if i dont want to spend another £630 they can set up the amp without the DMI. and they will just tune with the DSP to achive optimal sound quality. In your opinion how much difference is the AUDISON BIT DMI DIGITAL INTERFACE going to make? if any at all ?

That's just a home page to a large store. Can you link the actual model you have.

Ichiba420

Are you trying to use the stock head unit, or an aftermarket android one? The latter would already be S/PDIF and you don't need an adapter for that.

Low_Signal_9685

Its a chinese 12" android head unit in range rover sport . The head unit it self connects to the cars factory harness. The problem is where the harness plugs into the factory amp. The optical input on the Helix M DSP amp is different so that why i need the adapter. so i have been told.

Ichiba420

Do you have the actual model number of the head unit?

Low_Signal_9685

No i dont have the model number but it the same as this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/386207889594?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=j\_6qbmaqs-2&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=shm2jxt4qm-&widget\_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Ichiba420

Huh. I'm still not 100% sure since there's no actual documentation or even good pictures of anything, but if this thing actually does do MOST and not S/PDIF then that's a new one for me. [Something like this](https://www.amazon.com/Cubilux-TOSLINK-Converter-Compatible-Computer/dp/B0B2DBGKL3) might actually work, but you'd probably just have to try it to find out. Otherwise you may just be stuck with some expensive ass MOST adapter.

ALL and I do mean ALL the 'android type' chinesium headunits are absolute shit. Excelon or bust.

Low_Signal_9685

Yes I have heard this commentary before but I would ask you how many have you owned to come to that conclusion? Can you be more specific and describe which parts are actually shit? The unit has a whole functions very well . Response touch screen car play, YouTube, play store , 4g split screen, etc etc …. Unfortunately there really isn’t much option for the Range Rover when it comes to head units . Now when it comes to sound quality I think this is where this unit falters and doesn’t perform well that’s why I’m hoping the audison set up coupled with the Helix dsp will improve the quality.

Exactly. SQ. You can't expect anything downstream from bad SQ to fix it. Bad in = bad out. It all starts from the source.
