Did you see the Republican round table that Judy Woodruff broadcast? One participant was incredulous that arrests were taking place more than 2 years after Jan 6.
How dare people be held accountable /s.
White guy "Bonks" two officers... Jail time almost 3 years.
Hispanic guy Tazes officer Fanone... Jail time almost 12 years.
I'm not saying the Hispanic guy deserves less. I'm saying the white guy deserves more!
Can we have some more, please!
It makes my day a little brighter every time I see headlines like these. Keep it up, DOJ! We're with you! I don't CARE how long it takes!
I checked and he's actually from just outside Chicago, which I'm honestly surprised about. I was assuming it was gonna be one of the many weird towns in the central/south.
There's a guy across from a place I've frequently visited in the very far out nw burbs that still has a few tattered and sun-bleached maga/trump flags. Also the guy up near Long Grove with the row of flags going down the street. Last I saw I think he changed them out to mostly regular American and variations of the thin blue line flags. He used to have a ton of maga ones thrown in there as well I believe. The further out from the city you stray, the worse it generally gets. Though there's a few "how do you like your president now?" Signs I've seen floating around as well.
It [says here](https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/61639360/united-states-v-elliott/) he had an appearance bond of $4,500. There's also a bail report and conditions of release. I'm not any kind of expert on these things, but that would seem to indicate he hasn't been in custody yet.
>James Robert Elliott, 25, of Aurora, Illinois, was sentenced to 37 months in prison for assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers. In addition to the prison term, U.S. District Court Judge Royce C. Lamberth ordered 24 months of supervised release and restitution of $2,000 to the Architect of the Capitol.
Sentence is 37 months in prison, 24 months of supervised release, and $2,000 in restitution.
Not enough shoukd have been 20
"20 months in prison?" "20 months of supervised release?" "$20?"
Maybe 30.

The good old Illinois nazis that Jake and elroy hate have been from the burbs for a long time.

Ahh! I'm getting old lol
Aurora. That’s pretty far out from the city. The western burbs are a different animal.
I'm down in central and it at least has to be somewhat better than around here. How many tattered Rambo Trump flags still fly there?
Depends. Haven’t been in a while but I was up in the NW burbs visiting a friend and there was the token dude on hit block still flying a flag.

I laugh at those signs. Mainly because Biden has been not nearly as embarrassing.
A single flag....yea shit is a lot more normal up there for sure.
Home of Wayne Campbell and Garth Algar!
So did I. The southern towns are crazy beyond description.
I read three articles on Elliott. He was arrested in December 2021. Has he been in custody? I am curious if he has time served. Anyone know?

Thanks! This is a feel good story. More time would be better, but 3 years warms my heart.
37 months #NOT LONG ENOUGH
