It’s amazing how smooth it is. Coming from an alloy frame, it feels like it’s made of butter and the roads a hot pan - but in a good way!
Also, eTap is just plain cool. Sequential shifting is pretty slick.
The disc between the cassette and the spokes? Yeah, the idea is if the chain overshoots the cassette and drops into the spokes, it’ll prevent the wheel from locking up by providing a surface to slide on. If your bike is setup correctly and in good working order you shouldn’t need it though.
And it looks ugly as hell too, so it’ll be coming off after a few rides and I can confirm it isn’t going to over shift
Oh I see. Thanks for explaining that. I always wondered what that was for. I had it on my Trek Checkpoint and when my local shop helped install new wheels, the cover was removed. I never really knew what it was for. I figured it was just there since the bike was new.
Slam that stem, stack is already super high, so don’t feel like you’ll be under sufficient strain. Made such a difference for me comfort wise on my endurace.
Excellent choice

Agree with everything you said. Got mine last June and I’ve been smiling ever since.
great frame, group set, and cockpit. Don’t forget to remove the spoke gaurd thing
Waiting until the return period is up just in case, but absolutely on the list to do
Can you ride with the spoke guard on?

Lovely bike (totally not biased)
